    I did the same thing sold my 92X for for the M9A4 Centurion to me it is the ultimate 92 standard with the threaded barrel and night sights. Berettas for me are a gun I pick up and am naturally accurate with. I installed Trijicon night sights on the 92X but it was a beast to do and they where even bigger then the m9a4s. It would be nice if Dawson made some believe it or not there are not a lot of sight options for the 92X. Not something I carry more of a range or SHTF gun. I found the more standard I can keep it the more comfortable I feel depending on it. Thanks for the review,

      Yep I did the same but I went with a full size M9A4. I concealed carry it every day AIWB in a trex arms sidecar, I'm a bigger guy so it's not uncomfortable for me. Haven't modified anything on mine other than getting a Surefire X300U for it. I think the stock triggers on Berettas are already so good, and I really like the heavy DA pull considering mine is a decocker only. I grew up learning on my dad's old italian 92fs and also have my own 92fs so stock the trigger on the M9A4 is already miles better for me. I'm one of those weird superstitious people that likes to keep my handguns with stock parts. I do modify my rifles and shotguns though as those arent pointed at my family jewels all day😂

    The Beretta actually won the latest contract but they went with Sig because it was cheaper. I'm personally saving up for the full LTT kit with the np3 coatings. I still wanna get my hands on an M9A4 though. I HATED the Beretta when I was in the Marines but thinking back its probably because the guns where ran through more than a Thai hooker lol. It also had the half moon sights on it and not the 3 dot.

    • @Duty2Domicile
      @Duty2Domicile  Před rokem

      Well, beretta won the contract in the 80s, but was never even allowed to enter the MHS competition sadly. I like your idea of getting the NP3 LTT, I would like to have one myself one day. The Marines definitely had the better beretta with the M9A1 vs the Army’s M9, but with the hard double action pull at 12lbs pull, and the government contracted magazines with the phosphate type coating the beretta never got the credit it deserved in the military. Not to add the fact most military personnel never get proper training with pistols didn’t help with a bad reputation when the operator didn’t know how to best employ their equipment.

  • @schmidtmpa

    Great review. I just wanted to note that the Wilson Combat Mag Guide you have is fitting exactly as it should. I have those on multiple Beretta 92s (M9a3, M9a1, 92X, 92FS) and that's how it fits. The 92 it doesn't fit on is actually the 92X Performance not the regular 92X. Langdon's website is confusing because it only says that it's not compatible with the 92X. This is obviously a hold over from when the only 92X was the 92X Performance before all the other 92X guns were released.

    Whew that was close was looking at both now glad went with the A4 for the threaded barrel, wanted for home suppression gun at bedside and wanted a decocker , only reason thought about the 92x is because it’s black and less thought surely could add a threaded barrel easily, waiting on it to come in to my dealer
    I wasn’t keen on color at first, but like you may change up when getting beat up , maybe bazooka green frame and barrel with black slide
    Wish was available from manufacturer in more color schemes

      I only did one on the PX4 which is a little different, as you don’t need a separate kit for that. But I never did one on the 92. I seen videos about it and if you have the right punches it is something I think you could do with a little patience. I do know that working with the smaller components can be a pain especially if you don’t have the right tools ( punches, and bench block mainly).

    • @Duty2Domicile
      @Duty2Domicile  Před měsícem +1

      I carried the Sig M11 as a duty weapon for years so I can tell you my opinion with some confidence. The beretta M9A4 is the better gun, especially if you put a LTT trigger job in a bag into it. The beretta has a better grip, recoil impulse, and is smoother shooting overall, just get the G version. Both are reliable and both have a great track record. But if it were my money after using both of them, I’d go for the beretta all day every day.

    • @redbarronreviews2429
      @redbarronreviews2429 Před měsícem

      @@Duty2Domicile that’s probably what I’ll do then. I carry a full size M9 pretty regularly, but I shoot my P239 better than any gun I own. The more compact size of the sig is appealing. I could always cut threads off of the A4 though and recrown it.

      @@redbarronreviews2429 , if possible, try each one, but shooting both stock compared to what you can do to the M9A4 is almost an injustice 😂.
