    I just got a blem one for $700. Wish me luck! My favorite ammo to train with is Blazer brass 124gr. I used 124gr hollow point so I like training closer to what I use for self-defense. They’re usually $24-26 cents a round so very affordable!

    I’ve carried a striker fire, first with Glock then with S&w for 29 years. I picked up a m9 just recently and I like the gun. The manual of operation is a bit different than I’m used to but I like it. With that said I am way more comfortable with a striker fire handgun only because of the thousands of rounds I put through one.

    • @Duty2Domicile
      @Duty2Domicile Před 2 měsíci

      I carried the Sig M11 as a duty weapon for years so I can tell you my opinion with some confidence. The beretta M9A4 is the better gun, especially if you put a LTT trigger job in a bag into it. The beretta has a better grip, recoil impulse, and is smoother shooting overall, just get the G version. Both are reliable and both have a great track record. But if it were my money after using both of them, I’d go for the beretta all day every day.

      @@Duty2Domicile that’s probably what I’ll do then. I carry a full size M9 pretty regularly, but I shoot my P239 better than any gun I own. The more compact size of the sig is appealing. I could always cut threads off of the A4 though and recrown it.

    I have a brand new APX-A1 Compact. Had this issue with one of the two mags that came with it. Bought 4 more Beretta 15-rd mags, while loading them at least 2 required me to fiddle with the follower to get it to go back into the metal mag part. The issue seems to be it rides up too high and gets stuck. Haven't shot these yet, hoping they'll settle in. Getting the 15th round in was much more difficult than other 9mm mags I've loaded, even with a speedloader. Might resort to making them 14rd mags, it's just a range gun for now.

    That trigger upgrade kit was really meant for other models....mostly. The M9A4 already comes with a upgraded trigger and a de-cocker so spending time $ on this upgrade...meh. No real bang for the buck unless you want a skelatized style hammer. Trigger pull and reset is exactly the same.

    Comparing the 5.56 to a 308 NATO rifle is hilarious I’m just honest 5.56 is weak plus 308 has better capabilities.

    • @Duty2Domicile
      @Duty2Domicile Před 2 měsíci

      I agree compared to the 308, the smaller 5.56 is weaker but with the right grain weight and barrel the 5.56 is very effective against soft targets. The problem is the military tried to make it a do all round that doesn’t make it do anything great. But the smaller round is more common to find and cheaper to train with which is a big factor. In a crazy situation it may be better to have more of the weaker rounds than just a handful of the full power rifle rounds. But since I can’t see into the future, you could be right on your choice depending on what situation you may find yourself in. Thank you for the comment!

    The military should’ve never switched over to a faster twist rate and heavier bullet weight they should’ve stayed with what worked a 1in12 twist barrel and a 55grain bullet using the 20 inch barrel or a 16 inch nothing shorter or longer and the 5.56 is deadlier

    • @Duty2Domicile
      @Duty2Domicile Před 3 měsíci

      Good point. I do believe how the bullet is constructed is another major factor however. I don’t believe the green tip helps anything other than going through a little more material. In the case of GWAT, this was not needed as the enemy did not have body armor and penetrating through regular cars could be done using just about any regular rounds. IMO, a 75-77gr OTM would have been the best option for most engagements and probably would have been cheaper to mass produce for the military than the M855 or the M855A1.

It's hard to beat within 300 yards, considering how light the ammo is, how low the recoil is, and how accurate it is. 6.8 x 51mm definitely isn't replacing it, I can tell you that much!

    • @Duty2Domicile
      @Duty2Domicile Před 4 měsíci

      I didn’t knock the gun because of one random round that wasn’t loaded correctly. In fact, I like the gun a lot, it’s one of my favorites. Just because I noticed some simple improvements that could be done by the manufacturer doesn’t mean I don’t think the gun is great overall. I’m just pointing out some things that people may or may not be aware of if they never handled one and are looking to spend a lot of money on. I have no problem pointing out improvements or issues with any of the guns I own or have owned. I’m not sponsored and don’t have any emotional connection with any manufacturer that would keep me from putting out my observations. If I pay good money for a gun, I’ll let my viewers know exactly what my experience was with whatever gun is in front of the camera. Like I said, it is a great gun overall and with a little practice, it will be a favorite for many people.

      Most people, not all but most, are very reluctant to train with a good looking gun that cost them a lot of money. When I say training I mean the type where guns will get hit, scratched, and banged up, not just shooting at the range for 45 minutes. With a $1k+ gun, I bet a lot of people won’t sign up to do that. They will take a $400-$500 gun and will be more likely to risk the surface damage. Just like people that have new mall crawlers vs a guy who has a 20 year old secondary driver who will risk a few scratches to go off road.
