I love the way this guys talks to us. "Till yo wheel falls off and your chasing it just a little slower"
Very informational. I'll be sure to share with my friends at the Walmart meet this weekend.
Oh they already know, but that ebay price is way too good.
When You torque the spacer to spec and the studs protrude slightly, I’ve noticed some aftermarket wheels that actually have gabs in the back of the wheel. Making it so that you don’t have to trim the studs. I thought this was neat.
You should double stack the spacers making it two times as cool.
Jerimy Murray haha
Jerimy Murray LMFAO!!!!!
lmao haahah
XD
That is the most hilarious thing I have heard LOL 🤣 !!!! U WONT HAVE A TIRE FALL OFF, ULL HAVE 4 TIRES ROLLING DOWN THE HIGHWAY LOL, Oh my goodness man, to funny.
Thanks bro. Found your channel and have watched tons of vids. I was going to buy cheap spacers not knowing the difference. You may have saved my or my family's life.
I had the studs on my truck snap off and never really knew why. Was always afraid to add aftermarket wheels since. Thanks for clearing this up.
AWESOME. I have eBay open in another tab and in my cart is Standard Billet Spacers. I saw this and checked to see if the spacers had the hubcentric ring and they did NOT so I immediately REMOVED them from my cart. I did locate another source and made sure I got the hubcentric spacers. That really was perfect timing Thank You... You have a subscriber for life now ! ! !
After this video, I went to subscribe, and to my surprise, saw that I already had who knows how long ago. So all you get today is a thumbs up.
THANK YOU!!
Learn something new everyday on this channel. 👍
Nice video. Another reason for a wheel off would be because of the stud clips. It causes a small gap between the spacer (or aftermarket wheel) and the hub. Certain spacers and aftermarket wheels are designed to take these clips into account, but from what I have seen almost half of them do not.
randomly came across this trying to find cheap spacers 2 in for yukon and it made since about the center ring all I was looking at had none of that thanks for that
Old video, but great knowledge. This happened to me back in 06 before I could be Instagram famous lol. The shop told me the spacer was made of pot metal and was a piece of crap. I was young and naive but the whole ordeal made me never want to use spacers again... I’m wiser now and it I can pull it off in the future with a good brand, I’d give them another try
Damn! Glad I clicked on this video, this was truly, shit I never knew! Planning on getting spacers to give my truck that mean aggressive stance and this was good to know!
I'm planning on buying a truck in the next couple months and lifting it, etc., etc.. I gotta say, I've learned a ton from these videos. Subbed.
Love all the info guys ! Thanks for all the knowledge that you provide keep up the awesome work!
I bought hubcentric 6061 grade 10.9 stud Ebay spacers and have had them on for a year now no problems
How often u torque them bro
its not a matter of IF you die, but WHEN you die... Shoulda gone with Amazon spacers
@@drumtum81 still going with the same spacers 3 years going
Im going to attempt to customize my old f150 myself, your videos contain lots of useful information. I haven't started with the lift kit or spacers yet just collecting all the info I can before I start. I'm glad I clicked on this one b4 I started ordering shit off of ebay, thank you.
Thankyou for this video, now I know why my daughters front wheels about fell off her 2000 F250 that she bought with wheel spacers already installed. Great Job. Saw this Video on May 11 2018.
The company I worked for last didn't install or touch vehicles with the cheap spacers that didn't have studs. If I service a vehicle with spacers I always retorque them to vehicle specs, then install wheel and torque that down. Never had an issue.
dont forget that you can over torque your Spacer, i had my studs stretch and snap.
Haha you dropped the title on the white board like a high school teacher. That's awesome.
1.)eBay spacers are cast aluminum and when you wrench down on them they fracture, then your wheel comes off!
2.) American made spacers a milled/machined from one chunk of aluminum
3.) Cast, no good as far as strength.
4.) Machined from one piece of superior material, Mucho Bueno
aircraft grade aluminum is typically 6061-T6 aluminum
brian6265 thank you... been trying to research tht...
I love this series, maybe you could look into following a build and giving price points, I know alotta people I worked/work with just stick with used tires because they're scared to look at prices, but they're investments really.
Love the thin blue line shirt, thanks for the support for local law enforcement.
The correct way to space out ur wheels is to widen the axle, the manufacturer chose a specific factory wheel offset for good reason. Why u would ever want to prematurely ware down ur bearing and balljoints i have no idea.
For looks, for clearance. Lots of reasons to add spacer.
My wheel fell off and I wasn’t even using spacers 😭
Also just to add something be sure to remove the stud clips that hod the rotor in place it can cause major vibrations and ya wheel can fall off too. I think I seen 2 on the rear of that truck and they looked cooper color. Oh yeah by the way thanks for all these wheel ,tire and truck updates best channel on the tube!
Appreciate you sharing this safety knowledge. It will probably save a life
if youve never used a grinder dont attempt to cut studs.. it will kick back and if youre not used to it itll get ya by surprise and shatter and rupture your stomach.
Randomchannel giant wood sanders are dangerous too, the shop one we used could send a sheet of wood through a wall if you didnt hold on hard enough lol
Cut top to bottom with the wheel spinning so it's pulling the grinder toward the stud. It shouldn't kick if you do it like that.
I used to run an industrial rip saw at work. We had to wear a lead filled Kevlar apron in case a post caught wrong and shot back. A guy got skewered before the apron became mandatory. Skewered by a rough planed 2" post is a horrifying image. On a side note. Always wear good safety goggles when cutting any metal. Just had to go get a rusty piece from work dug out of my eye. I was wearing safety glasses but they didn't wrap around well enough. That was miserable.
A smart man learns from his mistakes, a wise man learns from other people's mistakes. I'm all about heeding advice from other people's hardships.
You probably should have also mentioned that those copper speed clips for the rotors need to be removed before installing spacers or any aftermarket wheel for that matter
fixed more angry customers from other shops complaining about tires out of balance because of that issue. stock wheels have a step down to clear those aftermarket wheels do not.
will it make a clicking noise when you back up and turn your wheels if they are not removed like it's rubbing? just wondering cause I have aftermarket wheels and it makes a clicking noise when I back up and turn my wheels but that's the only time it makes the noise.
Just pay attention when installing them, most of the issues listed here were from human error. I ran lug centric 1.25" spacers on a 4x4 97 Tacoma (20x10/33x12.50) for over 5 years with no issues. I always used Red Loktite on the stock lugs and torqued the spacer studs. Took it everywhere and never had a hiccup.
This so well explained and easy to understand. Thank you.
People do not correctly torque the lugs and re-torque after x amount of miles
People usually dont torque anything right when they do the work at home lol
@@angelr6524 I did mine at home lmao
having bora wheel spacers will stop steering wheel vibration... I do have fuel contra wheels 33x12.50R24 with -44 offset with 4 inch lift kit....I have a 2018 ford F150 XLT crew cab..... the wheels came with hub centric ring but I will to install bora wheel spacers...
Should I use threadlocker? I torque the spacer and wheel to spec, just wondering if I should be extra cautious.
I don’t know if you guys have ever did something like this for hub-centric rings for aftermarket wheels but it’s about the same concept. The trucks weight is on the studs and not the whole hub itself.
OMG I love this channel
I’m glad I watched this. Thank you
Hi I have a 2006 SAAB 9-7X 4.2I that I love and would like to put some up grades for this suv, like good shocks and struts, lift kit for front and back and whole front end suspension or a whole front end suspension kit....thats how much I love this suv.....is there a good place online that I can get things like this...I watch your videos and trust your talk on the work you do on trucks...even this video had me on the end of my chair...
Also remember to torque everything I was in a buddy's truck who was running bora and wheel came off luckily we were going 15 mph and the only thing broke was the spacer
Cash Baker same thing happened to me too didnt torque properly
Damn, I’ve got take my truck to the shop and get my rear wheels checked for correct bolt spacing... and retorque the bolts... I did my 2007 trailblazer myself, in the garage... put an. eBay spacer 1.5” to flush my stock 17” rims (and Nitto 265/70r17) to the fender -but after how long should I check my spacers... everyone is sayin..., “after x’ amount of miles...” which is exactly how much...? I’ve had my wheel spacers on for about 400-500 miles so far
Jah Cousteauu
After 50 miles
So I’d say check them real soon...like yesterday
the tapered end of the lug nut seats itself in the tapered part of the spacer causing it to self center on the studs Anyways im getting custom made hub and wheel centic steel wheel spacers Also im gonna place 4 tack welds all way around to the brake rotor cause even thow its hub centeric the wheel rotating, torque still goes to the studs so small feathered tacks will take care of that AND not worry AS MUCH about taking wheel off and checking torque im so glade I found this channel great vids guys
Thanks for the info.
This may seem stupid to some, but what am supposed to do with the hub centric rings that came with my Fuel Mavericks. I'm running 20x10 -24 on my 2010 f150. the shop didn't use them so I have them sitting in the boxes still.
Don't some Aftermarket wheels have open cavaties making them spacer friendly?
I have seen some wheel where the studs where to poke out fit inside those holes (as long as the studs are not poking out that much of course)
All wheels are spaced friendly, just depends on the setup you’re trying to run
I have a 2014 Ram 1500 and have a 4.5 maxtrack lift kit and 2.5 in the rear with some fuel wheels and of course I had to put spacers in the back cause the front lift kicked the tired out about 1-1.5 inches out and this are good spacers with center hub! My question is why does it vibrates a lot when Im like 65-70mph! Had it balanced, aligned, etc.
have to make sure the spacers are hub centric to the hub, and the wheels are hub centric to the spacer, they do make plastic inserts if the sizes are off, but with spacers you should really make sure they are machined correctly to fit your truck and your wheels. email Sales@Customoffsets.com if you have further questions!
I have an f150 2007 my tires already stick out about 2 inches because of the wide wheel. what spacers can i put to make it wider?
What do you think about Rough Country Wheel spacers? they're not hub centric but also not ebay quality
I've been running the 1/4" rc spacers on all four wheels for a year with out any problems. I have 37x12.50/20 on my 16 ram 1500. I got the tires from custom offsets.
How much of a lift you recommend to run the 20x14 rims on a 2004 Ford F-150 XLT?
i had ford f150 1992 4x4 manual. what is the best spacers with hubcentric i could install in my truck? right now i had 17 inch rim and keep rubbing with the full turns.. any recommendation? thanks
Do you recommend using Loctite on the studs? Also use anti seize between the spacer and hub?
I need adapters to run 8x6.5 wheels on my 8x170 superduty.. what do you guys have that are cheap but quality
Is it even possible to make a
110mm centre bore? I think it will get in the way of the spacers nut insert?
I know it's a huge size it's such a sexy steel wheel for my Datsun 620
The problem I'm having is my brake Drum is kind of pre hubcentric and it's moulded similar to the steel wheels
I'm having to run spacers because the drum fouls the wheel face
Would I be better finding a flush drum brake instead of spaci g cutting studs down 2.7mm etc etc, I cannot get a hubcentric spacer for this wheel unfortunately
A infiniti 25mm spacer fit's with 1.25 thread size
If I'm not mistaken the datsun 620 is 27. 7mm of threaded bolt pertrusion
I have a question i have a 2004 2500hd Silverado. I bought 2inch Bora adapters, the shop guy didn't have to trim my studs down, but you said in this video that the difference was 1.75 that chevy trucks could go with. So if i put 2inch adapters on does that mean my rears are a little wider than the front? If it is i cannot tell by looking at it from all angles. I also have a 6inch Zone Off Road lift so i wanted to get rid of that pit bull look.
Shoot us an email to info@customoffsets.com so our experts can help!
im running 18x10 -24 on my tahoe. i dont like the offset i want a more aggressive stance,
whats the smallest spacer i can run on my hubs? i tried my 2" and i dont see a way i can trim up enough to get minimal rubbing. im thinking 1 1/4 would be perfect. is that possible?
How often do I retorque my lugs to make sure my wheel doesn't shear off my studs? I can't afford the hubcentric adapter for 5x115 to 5x114.3
Every oil change would be a good idea!
Any reviews on Supreme suspension spacers?
excellent video. thank you
Simple solution, no spacers!
better solution.. no car lol
Okay Scotty Kilmer
No life
Hahahaha
no simple solution people need to not be stupid when installing them and stop thinking they are doing themselves a favor by buying cheap eBay junk. pay for the correct spacers made from good materials and make sure to install them right and the shit isn't a problem
So on my 02 avalanche I'm putting 35x12.50R22 with a 6in rough country and I'm guessing i need a 2in spacers for just the back! So this means i dont have to cut my studs??
Correct Cooter, 2" spacers wouldn't require cutting the lug studs!
ordered steel boras and gonna bolt up tight then tack weld in 4 places and that should take care of it
shawn cordeiro hope it goes well, make sure it’s all balanced after too!
Great video! Very helpful! Question... I’m currently building a 02 Chevy S10 2wd and want to install 95 C4 Corvette sawblades wheels. So far I’ve gathered that I could run 3 inches front and 4 inches rear adapters. I will get BORA adapters but would like your advice since safety is the #1 priority. Thanks
Depends on the size of the wheel and tires, please email us at info@customoffsets.com so we can help you out with that fitment!
Thank you so much! I will email you the information
Love the shirt!
Let us say that your F150 has a 14mm diameter stud. Does the spacer or adapter carry that same diameter stud from the hub to the wheel? I see you mention 10mm and a different video mentions 7mm. I don't want to reduce stud size.
thanks
yes the studs stay the same, as well as thread pitches.
So what do you do when the hole in the center of the wheel is bigger than the hub ring?
Perhaps discuss Exhausts and Mufflers in this series as well?
Fumble why? this chanel is mainly lifts, tires, and rims..
Love the thin blue line shirt! Thanks!!!
Great info!! Thank you!! Like the beard, And love the thin blue line shirt!! Pro law, pro professionalism.
Like the TBL t-shirt.
I ran cheep 2" spacers, and they are great. They have the ring and I off road with them, never had a problem on my jeep liberty with em. But yes if you don't know wtf your doing stay away from spacers or have a pro look at it.
Half of the problems you speak about are customer knowledge problems, not spacer problems. The studs coming past the spacer isn't the spacers fault.
I'm looking at ordering spacers for my 2014 f150 stx sport. Would you know by chance how big I could go? Thanks and keep the videos coming.
brandon olson qq
i have a 2014 raptor and i want to install 1.5 inch spacers from custom wheels do i have to check on anything or trim my factory studs ? or will it work just fine ?
2" spacers will be direct bolt on, and then install wheels, won't require stud cutting
I heard having a negative offset wheel and spacers is a bad idea . Is this true ??
If you don't do proper maintenance on it, and beat on the truck yes. Other then that, tons of people have had no problems.
i have rough countrys spacers at the moment
So I'm guessing if you get the 2-inch spacer you're going to clear the studs and everything will be fine
Correct Don
2011 2in leveled silverado with an 1.5 spacer, 20x9 and 33s how bad is it gonna rub? I have it trimmed up some already

I have A 2017 Silverado 1500 z71 6" zone suspension lift kit on 20 10 wheels on 35s what size spacer will I need to match back wheels to front wheels?
Just measure the tire edge from the fender
Do a episode about different rim companies and the quality rims they make
I have a 2016 sierra Denali
10" cognito lift
38x13.50
22x12 -44
8-180
I think the rear tires are set in a tad further than front. What would you suggest to even the setup out?
Thx
Custom Offsets
Sorry. I think all I need is around 1" to even it out.
Riding 2 years on my eBay 2” spacers. Finally due to replace studs or complete set. eBay does have brand name sellers 👍🏽
I have 14 inch knockoff spokes on my car and have a 1/4 inch spacer on it. I took the rim off to change a cv joint and the spacer was cracked in 4 places and a piece broke off. It was over torqued. Maybe I’ll buy new spacers
On the older silverados that have the shorter rear axle, can you use a dully hubs instead of the spacers? Would that be safer?
Custom Offsets How safe are the spacers??
So would you just recommend a 2 inch or anything above a 1.75?
So, which wheel spacer products are good enought to drive around for everyday vehicle use rolling on 24 inch rims?? Or would you recommend staggering wheel for front and back??
You can do staggered Roberto, or for spacers. you can buy our Bora Spacers! Check the link in description!
Custom Offsets what's the best stud grade and aluminum a Expedition
I’m looking at aftermarket rims and the bore size on the wheel is different than the bore of the truck. What can I do?
hubcentric rings will solve that issue Khristopher!
F 150 2018 stx with 2 inch wheel spacer work out good or ?
I know this is an old video, but just wanted your thoughts or maybe links to videos or pics. My 2010 sierra is lifted, the front tires stick out 1.25" wider than the rear. I don't want to grind or trim my lugs. So my question is, if I put a Bora 1.75" spacer on rear...would that 1/2" more than front be that noticeable? I can definitely see the difference of 1.25" the front has now. Thoughts? Ideas?
most people go with 2" /1.75" spacers and you don't notice the difference like you do the 1.25"
@@CustomOffsetsTV thanks guys. Love custom offsets tv.
Give me idea bro what can I buy spacers or adapter bcz. If I buy wrong one my steering wheel gonna start shaking . I bought 2018 Dodge Durango
we sell the best spacers imaginable here- bit.ly/2Cml4bN
I have a 2015 Single cab z71 4x4 sierra and I am purchasing some 20x10 wheels with a -19 offset with 4.8 backspacing. My question is will I need to run spacers for a 305/55 tire? I'm doing a RC 5 inch lift and hoping to keep my leveling kit too. Thank you for your help :-)
Spacers are usually only needed to get desired look quintero!
Custom Offsets sorry, I didn't know I'm new at this and I keep getting told a bunch of different things from different shops around me
question im trying to put 1 spacer with no stud and 1 spacer with the stud together im trying to eliminate that extra stud so i can fill in the gap. is this safe to do??
Stacking spacers OR adapters is not recommended, for safety reasons Tech!
what is a good spacer to buy
Hey Custom Offsets, just a heads up, I had a brand new wheel fall off my brand new 2016 Ram 2500. It was caused by those little copper keepers on the studs holding the rotor on. The wheel fell off while I was driving through town. Talk about embarrassment. And a $6k bill worth of damage to my new truck. Now I'm Instagram famous as well lol
Alex Kendall That should have been covered by warranty unless you fucked with the suspension voiding it or drove over the milage..
That not what caused it those are on kind of vehicles ! ! Just because its new doesn't mean someone hasn't taken it off ..
On the 2019 Tundra Platinum 5.7L Crewmax will the BORA wheel spacers (5x150 wheel bolt pattern, 14mm1.5 wheel studs, 2.00" thick) work without grinding off the factory studs down and not cause this type of issue?
2" spacers do not require stud trimming. 1.5" spacers do require stud trimming
Thanks for the information and saving me some time of taking the wheels off to measure the studs before ordering it.
If you have time ti give me advice I'd really appreciate it.
I have a 2015 f150 with XD brigade 20s with a +18 offset. 35" nittos Mt. I had these wheels on my 2011 f150 and they were sitting perfectly on it. But once I got the 2015 few years ago. I noticed that the wheels sat somewhat further in. It also rubbed on those 2x2 posts on the back side when in D and on the front side when in R under full lock left or right...
Since then I've added the leveling kit and it has helped some but if I'm driving into a driveway coming at an angle with lock it'll still rub on those. Now I'm thinking to add spacer but I don't want to get a spacer that is not going to work properly or just simply isn't going to work.
I feel Id like a slightly wider stance but don't want to jeopardize alignment.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Will 1.5” spacers work on a 2006 Tacoma TRD Sport with no trimming or would 1.75 be better?
You would have to trim with 1.5" spacers but you should just barely be able to clear the 1.75! Check out our spacers here!

can i stack wheel spacers and weld them on the circumference of each other?
or would the new outward leverage of the wheel itself break the original studs of the car?
Not recommended to stack spacers. Best bet is to buy wider spacers. We sell up to 4" spacers!
@@CustomOffsetsTV do you know of anyone running 4in spacers i cant find anything on them. Im considering the idea what do you think about running that wide of a spacer?
Would you consider rough country spacers cheap? They're not eBay ones but would you trust them?
We only recommend Bora's Alex, you get what you pay for!
It’s sad ppl don’t realize this themselves
Loctite or no? My mechanic recommended against using it but obviously, the re-torques are non-negotiable
