Sam as Bard is godlike; the Platonic ideal of all Bards everywhere. I don't know how anyone can match, let alone beat that.
I just love that Sam played Donatello in the Second TMNT series, I can always imagine him singing along with Scanlan.
If anyone even dares to be a bard next campaign, they will have a gargantuan shoes to fill.

If I have learned anything from making several bards is to not be like scanlan. You will fail.
This is just one instance of Sam being probably the best bard I have ever seen. I don't think anyone on Critical Role will want to play a bard because that means having to be the follow-up to Scanlan freakin' Shorthalt and that is one tough act to follow.

It's the effects and the little things, like the camera pan, Thordak's dancing, and Percy and Keyleth humming in the background that really make your animations top notch. This is easily one of my favorites, not just because of the songs but because of how well it's made.
This makes sad that there won't be Scanlan in the next campaign. 😭
I trust them to make something else just as memorable.

There's a silhouette shot of the party, one seems to be a tiefling, another is that of a shorter race.
I'm sure Sam will play something insane, but I'll miss his songs. Guess he could always multi-class, but it could also be good to leave something so great in the past before it becomes tiring.
Your pan-out to the full size of Vorugal towering over them in sync to "And I hope we all survive this fight" is amazing. Second only to Thordak head-nodding and tail-tapping along to Scanlan's singing.
I don’t know what kind of character Sam will have next campaign, but there better be singing involved. I had tears of laughter then.

I've been watching campaign 2 because of Jester, but now I really want to watch campaign 1 because of Scanlan.
Of course I'm going to miss Scanlan, but I know that any character Sam plays will be just as interesting and funny! After all despite Tary being a completely different character than Scanlan, Sam still brought his unique sense of humor to the character! That being said I will miss his inspiration songs though :'(
Sam also played masterfully Obby the Rat, a Rogue Dwarf, in liam's evil one-shot. It was then that I realized Sam's potential to do ANYTHING
Yeah for sure! Like I think all the one-shots they do show that its not necessarily the characters that make Critical Role so great, rather its the actors behind the characters that we love :) also Obby the Rat was HILARIOUS!!
