Such a comforting yet bittersweet look back at one of my favorite games of all time. Echoing everyone else: I can't believe it's been sixteen years. GTA IV came out at the perfect time for me. I was 14, where it seems nostalgia hits strongest. Seriously what a year to be a 14 year old boy; The Dark Knight, GTA IV, Iron Man, Metal Gear Solid 4, Left 4 Dead, and so many other great movies and games came out. I'm curious what 14 year olds nowadays will look back on as fondly.

Just finished GTA 4‘s Main Story a Month ago for the first time! What a great game. It was the last GTA I had to play to have played every main GTA game. Unfortunately the DLC TLATD won’t work on my PC at a Certain mission so I won’t be able to finish it. Great Video Badger!
This is my favorite game, not only for the GTA franchise but of all time, and I love learning as much about this game as I possibly can, especially with the games development.
Fact 11: A lot of the members and guests of the Opie and Anthony show are voice actors in the game, including on the radios and television. Independence FM for PC also uses the same voice from O&A’s promos. Not the radio host, but the promos between. ( you’re listening to Independence FM, music just for you). O&A get the first special thanks mention in the booklet. Lazlow was on their show a lot. It’s also why Bill Burr was in TLaD.
When this game came out I couldn’t afford it, so I would watch my neighbor play, recently bought and played it for the first time on my own and its amazing!
Basing on both Hollick's and Liotta's experience with Rockstar's tendency of not paying their voice actors well enough, I think Vladimir would probably regret working with them more than not. So I say he dodged a bullet.
I realized there's been a lot of GTA IV content recently and that's awesome, I recently finished the game again and also TLAD, I'm currently playing TBOGT, I just really love that game
I remember the excitement while waiting for GTA IV to install on my brand new laptop back in christmas 2008. It seemed to take forever... Then I jumped into the game after the messy activation and boy that nvidia 8600M nearly shat itself lol... Still, even at such low details and resolution I couldn't believe how realistic everything looked and felt. I was so used on the 3D games physics that I couldn't even control Niko correctly for a few hours lol. Then a few months later I managed to get together some money and bought a used PC with a Phenom x4 9850 and Radeon HD 3870 and enjoyed the game in all it's glory. I also have a hard time realising it's been 16 years and that consoles like PS3 are nearing retro status lol. To me when I think of PS3, 360, Windows Vista or games like GTA IV, they are still new in my brain. Like they are hardcoded like that forever : P
The saxophone buskers from this game will always be amazing to me and going into the Liberty City subway system and finding them playing their music is special and the saxophone is my favourite instrument ❤

I hope the modding community keeps growing so that we have more beta/cut content in the game
I've gotta know what that music at the end of the video was! So strange yet catchy @.@
My god give this man an award for having the greatest voice ever. The way you talk it’s just so smooth like butter and makes you feel safe
This is the only GTA I've replayed many times. Unlike GTA V I got quickly with that game I don't know why
It also means that the GTA IV 15th annvesirey video came out a year ago! Time flies.
Sweet baby Jesus. I thought I was dreaming. Christmas came early this year. 30 seconds in. Best video of the year already.
I was 17, turning 18, the year GTA 4 came out. The day before the game's release, I was so excited I couldn't sleep that night.
I have finished GTA IV many many times, i still play this game to this day. There are things in life that can't be replaced.
5:54 I guess this drawing explains why the gta 4 maps looks the way it does
When this game came out I couldn’t afford it, so I would watch my neighbor play, recently bought and played it for the first time on my own and its amazing!
Basing on both Hollick's and Liotta's experience with Rockstar's tendency of not paying their voice actors well enough, I think Vladimir would probably regret working with them more than not. So I say he dodged a bullet.
It may be weird but I love your voice :D
Goat is back
I realized there's been a lot of GTA IV content recently and that's awesome, I recently finished the game again and also TLAD, I'm currently playing TBOGT, I just really love that game
Please add a de-esser on your voice over! Anyway great content! ❤
Thanks! Might be a mic issue unfortunately, everything I've tried and it doesn't get rid of it without muffling everything else or causing problems.
The saxophone buskers from this game will always be amazing to me and going into the Liberty City subway system and finding them playing their music is special and the saxophone is my favourite instrument ❤
I feel like the real reason they removed airplanes was 9/11. rockstar may be really edgy but it would be really controversial to have a lot of people recording WTC crashes in GTA IV.
Gta 3 was released a month after 9/11 and had planes.
@@Chromed39it had the one plane with clipped wings. So the Dodo is barely a plane and just a car with wings that barely work.
They didn’t include planes because of the map size.
@@Chromed39they had more before the attack, they literally delayed the game to adjust some things and cut some missions
Just bs that's not true
What interview is the Edge-Online Sam Houser interview from? (1:00)
I want to read it and can't find any info about it
Right here! Had to pull it up with the Internet Archive: web.archive.org/web/20140704185925/www.edge-online.com/features/making-grand-theft-auto-iv/
@@BadgerGoodger thank you soo much dude, i love your work. i'm compiling every Sam / Dan Houser interview into a chronological list so people can easily read them.
11:01 Had him looking just like Danny
I used to watch CZcams videos of GTA IV gameplay when I was but a child with PS2, dreaming of being able to actually play it. Getting to actually play it many years later as a teenager was exactly as exciting as child me thought it would be. Absolute masterpiece of a game.
pretty good video and editing, nice pacing.
idk why but I liked it 😊
so many people have said this already but damn Badger your voice is like Butter spread evenly over hot toast!
The car models are my favorite parts of GTA IV, love those sedans
good times in my older teens playing with my buddies online just shooting the shit
I don't think I'll ever get tired of your GTA IV videos, idk what it is about them but they're just so interesting, anyways, I wonder what GTA IV would've been like, had they went for the larger map design.
Also, I actually kinda want co-op for GTA VI now.. I feel like it could actually work really well and be really fun, although at the end of the day I doubt it would happen unfortunately, cause of GTAO and maybe other reasons.
Yes it was going to be a larger map but they went quality over quantity
Thank you❤
1:42 owned drake 😭😭😭
Dude are you secretly Vic Cundiff? I hear you 😅
