I really appreciate your content and format. Great work!
Wow! This is awesome. I just learned a new thing. Thanks buddy. Let me download them right away.
Thank you, TG! Your channel is so informative and helpful.
I would recommend Exact Audio Copy as a tool to rip Audio CDs, and has been used for over 2 decades. I also recommend XWidget as a tool to have widgets on your desktop, as an alternative to Rainmeter. Hope these tools gets featured in the next video. (These tools are only for Windows though)
If you need to RIP Audio CDs, why not just use Microsoft Media Player?
If you are a programmer or even if you aren't, 7 Zip, Notepad++, MobaXterm for RDP and SSH client are a few that I install first after I install Windows.
I use a bunch of video and audio editing tools that are not mentioned here, but VLC player is the best, especially when you're trying to sync a video. I use different tools for that. Everything else that I use I do not use the ones that he has mentioned. I have a lot of audio files that are great for me such as MP3 Gain, MP3 TagTools & MP3Trim, all of them I started using in the early 2000s. For the videos I use DDVideo MP4Gain, Bandicut, Bandicut Joiner. Audacity, Free Video Joiner, Avidemux, Handbrake, and if a video gets out of synch more and more as the video goes on, I use MKV ToolNix. The last one is a little bit hard to understand but once you know how to do it it works great
Netscape navigator was gold.
😅😅 yeah, it is classic. I have changed from IE-> Firefox -> Opera -> Valvidi -> Chrome
I love TechGumbo! You guys have been extremely helpful to me.
As always on this channel, a great, info packed video.
A good selection. I would add Kdenlive in the video editing category. The latest versions have been excellent. I would also add Notepad++ for text editing, Audacity for audio editing, Bulk Rename Utility for renaming files, 7-Zip for file zipping/unzipping and FreeFileSync for file sync and backup between drives.
👏👏👏👏👏👏
Better u do your own selection dude.
Audacity has been in a little hot water for being a tad shady recently and spawned a couple of offshoots. Some details are the implementation of telemetry.
@@Skewrz They changed their mind on that in the end due to the backlash from users. In any event, it's easy to block Internet access to individual programs in Windows Firewall, so they can't send anything to remote servers. The only disadvantage being that you have to update it manually.
@@GaryB007 Sounds good, wasn't sure of the entire story due to minimal details online about it.
I like Panopreter Basic, for text to speech conversion.
It can work in many (but not multiple) languages, that is to say if you install the voice it can probably use it, but the whole file needs to be in one language, as the software will not select languages on the basis of formatting within the text document.
.txt will be read pretty much regardless how long the document is. I haven't tried going over 10 hours with it, but it ought to work even if the MP3 file produced would play for over a day. Conversion from .rtf seems to be limited to something between 8 and 9 pages.
Can’t find it on web or app store
Another excellent informative video...thank you!
i watch you for years now. keep up the good work mate. greetings from greece.
🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷👍🏼😎✌🏼
Nice selection of free programs. I have VLC and love it because it has played every type of media file that I've thrown at it.
Nice video..! from myside I would recommend the K7 antivirus. I installed k7 free trail version for my laptop, it is working good for both my laptop and mobile. and thanks for your video.
Good Video mentioning some software I did not know about 👍
Thank you so much good man.I needed that programs!
On Windows 10, you can press Shift+Win key (next to Ctrl on the left) to take a screenshot or snip an area. Then press Ctrl+V to paste.
Alternatively, Win+Shift+S to take a rectangular snip and copy it to your clipboard. I use it all the time
@@themindboggler8055 That's literally what I was referring to. Though I did forget to say + S
Win key + prnt screen key
It means a lot help thank you for all your tutorials and other similar video tubes also. I have fixed all the problems the startup boot and it"s total processing speed is improved I only need sfc and Dism command b/c I found corrupt system file. GBU!
Fantastic recommendations! Thank you!
Super update! Thanks!
Thanks for this. Great video!
Brave, PotPlayer, IrfanView, Q-DIR, Agent Ransack, NotePad3
My ( obviously superior not biased )list:
Bulk program downloading site: ninite
Browser: Brave
Password Manager: Bitwarden
Notepad: Notepad++
Torrent: WebTorrent Desktop ( simple and just doesnt look like trash )
Antivirus: Just use Windows Defender and don’t click on «free virus» crap
Zip file manager: 7Zip
Audio Editor: Audacity
Wallpaper: Wallpaper Engine
Storage Manager: Spacesniffer
Hotel: Trivago
What about video player. What can you recommend?
Valuable information thank you
30% into the video I already switched to the Vivaldi browser and finished watching this video. I like it so far.
I can vouch for:
Vivaldi
Bitdefender, and
VLC
Vivaldi is kinda as a VM considerably not a typical Web browser. Brave is fine one
Potplayer>vlc
Firefox>any browser
Kaspersky >any antivirus
@@MrPolemarxosGr pot player is like 100 times better for me than VLC with my personalised settings.
if anyone values there online privacy stay away from chrome
Firefox 💪🏾
Brave. Takes 99% of Chrome add-ons, and is so private.
brave and or tor for me
Not install it on my new laptop
If anyone values there privacy
stay away from Internet
Great work 🥳 Thank you 💜
Other cool softwares every Windows user should have
- Quicklook
- Everything (that's the name of the software)
- WindowsTop
Thank u for sharing great content
Wonderful sharing!
Share X is the novelty app for its scrolling screen capture that's missing in Win 11 Snip and Sketch.
Love Da Vinci and OBS. From zero to a full gameplay video (with a copyright free music) uploaded to youtube in a day.
Excellent video. Great information. What free Contact Management Software do you recommend for small business?
Very informative.
Glary utilites has been a free godsend for me for years now also
Opera in 2023 is pretty powerful. Uses Chrome extensions with the Chrome extension plugin. Offers complex interfacing for more control over the internet. I like the ability to choose a Search Engine from the drop-down menu.
Stay away from opera and WPS ...they are Chinese spyware ..
Thanks very much for this video 👊
I use several of these . Thanks.
For screenshots and editing them free open source Greenshot is also excellent and full of practical functions. Don’t think they ever mention that one here.
For us Ethical hackers we use greenshot a lot and I love it
Yeah I'm also big fan of the tool from tcm I got to know about it
Tcm is a great guy I have a huge respect for him he’s always helping the community
GREENSHOT SUCKS
ALWAYS PROMPTING YOU FOR YOUR OKAY
GO WITH GADWIN PRINTSCREEN
SPAM THE PRTSCR BUTTON AND GET TONS OF INSTANT IMAGES IN THE FOLDER OF YOUR CHOICE ... IN A COUPLE DIFFERENT FILE FORMAT OF YOUR CHOICE
A nice selection. I've found that Open Office is another good package deal very similar to Windows' Office suite, and it's free.
highly recommended
There are too many glitches in Open Office. It will add random underlines that you cannot get rid of, it has aparagraph numbering that it relentless in numbering a paragraph, when you hit the center key to create a paragraph.
Hi TechGumbo, I didn't see the Tor Browser for secure browsing as well as the Startpage private search engine.
handbrake video converter and audacity audio editor.. and i like k-lite codec pack better
if you work alongside microsoft document format, free version onlyoffice desktop editor in my experience has the most compability with docx xlsx pptx file
Should've also added mpv in the video player section, a open source lightweight video player which is fully scriptable and is unbelievably super fast !!
I think XDM is one of the underrated download managers out there
I never plan to leave Firefox! And I have enjoyed using Irfanview Photo Editor for years. And VLC Media Player has worked well for me for many years. You didn't mention Irfanview.
Love irfanview!
Same for me for Firefox! Indeed Irfan is a must have, however I only use it for viewing and selecting my raw files, which I process in Raw Therapee.
Really enjoy your work. On this latest video I found that there was nothing to replace Adobe acrobat pro though. Would be great to find a decent substitute for that :).
LibreOffice
Preview on MacOS
I use Foxit. I started using their free reader because it includes the ability to use a typewriter anywhere on the page. And then progressed to their paid version for several things that I needed to do. However, I am not a power user, so I can’t really tell you if it is a good replacement for Adobe, although it advertises that it is.
clipchamp is another video editing program and you can use it for free but only export up 1080p
Thanks!
The video player for most people I could recommend MPC against VLC. Brcause MPC just easy and works perfect from you start it first time. To have the same experience with VLC I need to set it up, download some script, walk through a lot of settings. For example play/pause with click on video, VLC can’t do it from start, MPC can. Or turn to next video file when previous ends - VLC can’t do it, MPC easy. So I have VLC just in case, but usually I use MPC and absolutely happy with it.
7-zip, GIMP, Open-Source Offices, FreeCAD, Blender, free players such as VLC, virtualbox
I use keepass for my passwords and it's free, as for DaVinci Resolve I installed this but had issues with crashing, when I reported it no response was heard, can only assume that if you pay then they are more than happy to reply back. I also use VMWare which is free and works really well
Great selections. 2 comments: No audio editor? Audacity would be my pick. And maybe at least honorable mention to Greenshot in the screen capture pick.
Audacity can also extract audio from video files ( after installing the FFmpeg library )
Good video ...Tixati for torrents and don't forget Sketchup for awesome free 3d modeling
No day goes by when I don't use the free “FilerFrog.“ It adds to a file’s or program’s right-click menu and lets you do many things that otherwise take you more steps and more time to do. You can “copy file path to the clipboard“ in one click (for example to then paste into a SAVE AS or OPEN field, ETC.) You can “extract file to a folder“ (which FilerFrog creates and lets you name), you can MOVE FILE UP (to the next highest folder), you can rename groups of files at once (find and replace), and so much more. I’ve used it on XP for years, and now on Wndows 10 and I find it bug-free. You should DEFINITELY have included this in your list of free stuff, but FilerFrog is a sleeper which no one I’ve ever met knows about!
Audacity for sound editing. VidCoder for video file transcoding. SumatraPdf opens more filetypes than Acrobat Reader.
MP3DirectCut is also an alternative to Audacity (but it works only for MP3 files).
I have Vivaldi and LibreOffice. They get my vote. But I cannot feel the love for VLC.
It's been a while since I used LibreOffice. It's time I try it again. Microsoft gives me a headache.
Inkscape is amazing!
Why you never mention Sketchup? as one of the best and easy to use 3D modeling software.
This is Useful
TeamViewer is great for online remote desktop sessions. Paragorn had great free backup utility
What's wrong with Microsoft's built in Quick Assist?
I use Vivaldi and it's awesome!
Am also in the processing of downloading mine through inline and online
You forgot about librewolf browser, which is a Firefox based privacy browser.
Great video
Best FREE password manager is KEEPASS, period.
Open source is awesome!
I usually stick to windows built in apps, but sometimes I use much better third party apps such as 7z, pot player, freed download manager. we need a video of the best apps on windows store please.
Windows doesn't have much in the way of built-in Apps and what it has are usually second rate.
@@peterbreis5407 yes but they're better for the work of the system, because these are apps programmed by the same company behind the system.
¿What's your stance on Apache's OpenOffice?
a lot of useful tools here
Thanks
What would be the best free alternative to After Effects when it comes to 2d animation like banners or ads for the web and social networks like stories for Instagram?
Try learning davinci resolve
Good video
Netscape navigator was free for a few years and by the time they charged there were plenty of other free browsers that were better
I am looking for a free imageviewer, most similar to ACDsee if you remember that one, with the ability to view a library of your images, and .g renaming them on masse or see one image very clearly in full screen, or a bigger thumbnail in the left part of the screen, I know windows has something free but it is far from similar or easy to use and ACDsee is well very expensive for what it is, currenlty I am using Faststone image viewer which is like a clone but not a particularly good one, it kind of lacks in functionality, allthough 90% similar to ACDsee it is probably what you will reccomend but I want to know if there are any other alternatives and I am not talking about Photoshop or adobe bridge or paintshop pro
Xnview
IrfanView
I use Asunder ( Linux ) to rip my CDs to mp3, can also rip to other formats
Great!
I use most of them!
Hi do you know of any free software that can remove black bars on the sides of recorded video. I have recorded several videos that predated HD, but I can't find a way to remove the black boarders on the sides of the screen to produce a full screen picture. I've done some research and I haven't been able to find a program that can do this nor have I found one that will keep an MP4 file type. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Kdenlive
Avidemux
thanks
Awesome video! All great programs🤩
I would just add Notepad++ and 7 Zip and you got yourself a HOMERUN!
I think VLC is almost the first thing I download on a every fresh OS Install😂
I like brave, just bc I can turn the BAT they give me into other, high APY cryptos. May be worthless, but when the $10/m they give me can get turned into $10 + $0.10/d in earnings, might as well.
Vivaldi is ever my favorite
I was wondering if there is anything better than Iobit Advanced System Care to avoid crashing of the RAM.
try revo uninstaller - way better than iobit
How can Iobit Advanced System Care fix RAM crashes? If you experience RAM crashes, either your RAM is too overclocked, the connection between the RAM modules and the motherboard needs to be cleaned of dust, or the RAM module itself is defective and needs to be replaced.
@@ciprianlica only 4 GB of RAM.
@@ivanyosifov2629 Thanks, but does it have a button on desktop which allows me to instantly clean the RAM?
@@koantao8321 no but it clears all leftovers which might cause ram issues
well I use chrome since I was a kid but mow I also use brave and microsft edge all in all 3 browsers seems fine and mind blowin sometime
Kirta is ranked #1 while Inkscape is ranked #3 so check out both for what you need. Kirta is totally free and open sourced.
Krita, not Kirta 😁 But yes, Krita is awesome and I prefer it to Inkscape, though both are great.
Can you do something for Chromebook
0:00 - Hi TG. 👋 9:50 - 899th like from me. 👍 Cheers.
Darktable: excelent alternative to Adobe Lightroom
i just need a good tech person to get in touch with me so options of what i have in mind can be sounded out and made...
I would go with Daum Pot Player instead of VLC.
PotPlayer is way way way better than VLC Media Player...
I also recommend Everything, which is tremendously quicker than Windows Explorer for searching files.
After discovering mpv, I never went back to VLC.
That's so true, MPV is so much better than vlc.
I use Potplayer all the way it’s so clean an featureful
Really?
As to media players, I prefer PotPlayer (Windows).
If anyone is into game development I highly recommend the Godot engine. Open source, free and has support for their native script, C++ and C#.
Intro is beautiful 😂😂
Can anyone suggest a MEDIA PLAYER for "m3u8" video format. Player, NOT CONVERTER. VLC or CLASSIC MEDIA PLAYER BLACK doesn't work.
This is the only youtube top 10 channel that is based
Aaaaah! VLC?!
mpv is where it's at.
