It doesn't take a whole video. Basically, they're hardware developers, and have very talented programmers, but UI/UX design is not programming, even though programmers are the ones who have to implement it. So basically, they're specialized at the wrong thing, and can do a "good enough" job so it ships. Source: I'm a programmer who also does UI/UX design.

The portable version allows you to boot it on a flash drive which is worth the price if you do system repairs for the less techy, I fixed one person's laptop that took 2 min to boot using this, and 99% of the issues were small registry files that were not deleted, Windows and these software companies are sneaky they leave junk behind intentionally.

So, thanks to all the team.
I had no chance to fast remove references of VMware tools from several computers, which were cloned frome a VM template Windows install. Removing the software (when it worked) did not remove totally the traces, and neither using a fresher version of VMWare tools could help me to clean up all remainings. Compliance and vulnerability check still thought that VMWare was still there.
I give RevoUninstaller a shot in Portable version. Installing an uninstaller would not make much sense to me.
Until now I removed in 3 minutes what I was not able to clean up in 1h of manual registry cleanup. I'll keep that tool in my box, may save me more time than retrieve it.

Some built in uninstallers get everything rid of. But mostly don't. It all depends on how well the developers created the uninstallater (yes, if you take time to code it, you can actually make one which is so good, that gets rid of everything that your exe installed on users machine)

On top of that, there is also the hunter mode that makes finding pesky hidden files a breeze. Jay - You're a lifesaver! I've used Revo in the past but had forgotten about it. I've watched your channel for quite some time, and enjoy your presentations. This one on Revo proved VERY useful! I use Opera as my primary browser - have used it since version 1 , it is now at 106!
Recently I was having trouble logging into my bank's website, though I have had no problems in the past. I have Opera (same build on my laptop and desktop). I could log in just fine on the desktop but kept getting errors on my laptop and could not log in. Chatting with the bank's tech support was no help. After trying everything I could think of (I'm well-versed in computers) I saw your video.
I installed Revo on my laptop and ran it to delete Opera completely, then reinstalled. Tried logging into my bank, had no problem! Apparently there was some crap in the registry or wherever that was causing the problem and Revo may it go bye-bye!
Thanks again for the excellent video, and keep up your great work! BTW, I love your sense of humor.

Even after uninstalling everything manually, ASUS was still running several programs on my PC which did not show up in add/remove program. I found the EXE's in my Program Files (and x86) but couldn't delete them because they were being used by an application. And it was wack-a-mole trying to kill the apps. Anytime this happens to me, I make sure to give it just a little extra time before running the Revo portion of the process for leftover files.

you probably know this already but this is for others who dont and are skeptical of the "freaking out"; your screen freaking out when you uninstall programs via this application is it running command line executions via command prompt, which auto close the window instantly because its likely just single executions of deleting files and registry entries, which is why it looks like a ton of command prompt windows are flashing in and out of existence. it's a normal thing and nothing to worry about. you can do many of those things revo does yourself but that takes a long time because you have to write all the scripts to do it, but they all generally follow the same template.
