VeraCrypt for encryption and ShareX to take screenshots.
Instead of Revo File Uninstaller, maybe it is better to use Geek Uninstaller. Revo has "broken" my Windows install in the past; Geek has never done that.
I've been using VSCodium for coding; it's basically a build of Visual Studio Code's public source code modified to not have any of the Microsoft tracking stuff. I've also been trying out Kate for some coding, but I've been using VSCodium more.
Some of the free software I use is; ReNamer, PDF Shaper Free, NexusFont and FastStone Image Viewer

I can't even install it for some reason.
I like how when you run file converter it tells you it is a shell extension. That makes it less confusing than trying to run it and nothing shows up. That would lead some people to think that the software is really buggy or even unfinished. Or just as bad, it may cause people to download a lot of updates and spend hours troubleshooting all for nothing. Imagine the frustration of it all. I really do like that they show you how to use it for that reason. It always helps to have such simple documentation and I like that they don't make you read a text file a mile long too.
Oh My Gawd. I have been looking for something like File Converter for a while. It even allows for lower file sizes when it comes to video and picture. Where has this been all my life. AGAIN you never cease to surprise me when it comes to software I haven't heard of.

I used Sumatra and Brackets for years and they are totally worth it, especially Brackets! Didn't know about the other ones so thanks for the video.
Thanks to TreeSize I found out which game I never play took up the most storage without the hassle of opening each games properties.
Irfan View still is the best image viewer! :)
I prefer Geek uninstaller. It removes more leftover junk than Revo. It's 64-bit only and is a portable executable only. I put it into its own Program Files folder and pin it to the Start menu.

I dont know if this was already featured in one of the videos but IrfanView is also an amazing piece of free software. Its basically an image viewer (very fast and lightweight) but it also has very powerfull batch convert and batch rename functions, similat to batch convert in photoshop. Sadly its only on windows.
+1 for IrfanView. It also has some handy basic editing functions.
I used that, until I discovered Photoscape.
It runs fine in wine though, for Linux users. It's not as nice, but it works.

This series is really great
I program I HIGHLY recomend is Strokes plus, it can be a bit of a advance tool, but it speeds up every day actions.
(basically it gives you the power to click hold your mouse and draw a quick symbol to open a folder, (there more to it than that but that would be my 1 second pitch)
Been using Sumatra pdf for a long time now. Most efficient pdf reader imo

Sumantra PDF is great because it has "automatic bookmarks" which my version of Adobe does not have. When you close a PDF in Sumantra and reopen it, the program remembers where you left off, a very nice feature.
RevoUnistaller is probably one of the best software i used over the years !! its a must have software
Although it's Windows only, I love using Ninite for a quick, base setup of the various components I always want on a new computer. Plus it can do many of the ones mentioned in this video!

I discovered pdfsam just over a week ago. The 'basic' version is free and I've installed it on Windows and Linux. It has various pdf tools and the one I use it for is the 'extract pages' function. The Extended version has more features but needs to be purchased. I am very happy with pdfsam. I may indeed upgrade to the paid version.
I also have installed and used pdfsam for extracting pages or a single page from a multiple-page pdf file. There's also another excellent free and open-source program that can extract pages named naps2. Import a pdf file into the program and then select a page to extract it.

Treesize also has a context menu, so you can look in certain folders instead of whole drives
I don't use it so much anymore as I like Win10's default app now... but f.lux is good for those conscious about blue-blocking if they're computing late into the night. It gradually adjusts the monitor gradient so you are not left with a super-bright screen after dark, especially useful if you're in a low-lit room.

Yes, I heard that on Windows-13 it is going to be such that no keyboard is needed at all. You do it all by clicking the mouse. Basically it will be the same as bringing up the windows command line (cmd) and then entering what you want to do in Morse Code.

One bit of software I use is Auto Hot Key. I use it to make various scripts including "Hot Keys" and use it in-conjunction with my video editor "X-Keys"
The other one is Light Shot for screen captures.
Another free scripter is AutoIt.
For screen capture, I prefer ShareX since it have so many advanced features
DNS benchmark was pretty amazing, increasing load speed on every webpage I use
File Converter is such an amazing tool. Saves me so much time converting to different formats without having to open up another software app to do the job. The context menu integration is priceless!!

@@tickledonions9483 You have to wait for it to upload, and it's often slower.
Not that this would be any faster, usually these file conversion apps are incredibly slow anyway, and have terrible compression implementation, with the exception of Handbrake, which is simpler and faster as it leverages ffmpeg.
I just learnt how to use ffmpeg's CLI (command-line interface). It's both faster and easier to adjust settings for file conversion, and it's faster when actually converting files than any other option. It took me ~an hour to learn the few CLI flags required to adjust the main settings, and it's saved me many, many hours of time when batch converting tons of files, of which other programs took much longer to convert.
Does not work with Audible .aax files.

Been using scrcpy since a few years now, in place of the annoying vysor and apowermirror... Scrcpy has been flawless and perfect all this time and has gotten some great updates too but lacks a GUI that's all.
I'm well versed with all this, have built over 5 systems, have my own set of tweaks and deep windows optimizations, etc, and I've been spending most of my time with my PCs for a major part of every day since last 11 years but I didn't know about File Converter, ImageGlass and Transmission. Will try all 3 of them, thanks :D

A point or two.
1/ I had used Sumarta a while ago on an older Toshiba, Win7 laptop in 2017 and I had forgotten about it. I have been using LibreOffice to read my PDF's, some of the documents take minutes to load. I do not like Adobe, always trying to get you to pay for an upgrade! I installed Sumarta and a 1200 page document that took 3 or 4 minutes to load, came up instantly. Impressed, thank you.
2/ As for TreeSizeFree, I have that installed om most of my laptops since 2018. Has gotten me out of a few problems.
3/ I may try a few of the other programs you have listed, the Android one, and maybe the editor. I use Pycharm most of the time so I may not find this one as useful.

I've been using Sumatra for Reading for more than 7 years. It can view the most amount of ebook formats including Epub, Comic books as well. It's faster, lightweight, bookmark view is also a charm.
Solid list of software. Been using Revo for more than 4 years, I can say its one of the best and should be on everyone's computer.

1:03 If you have a Samsung phone with DEX, there is a DEX app for Windows which does the same thing as this, but lets you use DEX either in a window or full screen.
My torrent client of choice for a number of years now has been Tixati. It's free, works very well, has some very handy features, and is still being actively developed, with constant improvements to the core functionality being added. Not sure if it's been covered before, but it doesn't appear to get much attention.
I'm also in the Tixati gang. It's not open-source but it's just the best most advanced feature filled client. If you're not super basic, find other clients lacking, or needing additional tools to torrent give Tixati a try.
For anyone who wants scrcpy to mirror their android phone. Congrats it now supports audio on the latest version of 2.0

1: WinUAE if you prefer to remwmber the good old days of clean, well documented o/s of the world's greatest operating system.
2: you can get the basic version of DAZ Studio (D|S), for Windoze & OSX. I always found it easier to use than Poser, it can read & write Poser files, has a fair amount of free stuff availabe, and great support.

Functionality: Everything Linux can do nativley, Windows can too. Vice versa has never been the case. Some of us want to do more than just office work and browsing the web.

6:32 You’re the first tech person which I hear recommends ditching Microsoft Visual Studio Code for Brackets - usually it’s the other way ‘round. Personally I did try doing the latter (switching from Brackets to Visual Studio Code) a few times….and every time I went back to Brackets in two seconds flat - to me VSC has always been…😖

SCRCPY resurrected my phone that had just died the past week. its a black screen due to ink pouring through it, but the app is great for this use case.
Uff Mr Gumbo, Sumatra and Revo have saved my ask, I recomend the Revo portable version for professionals.
Windirstat. Nothing better to quickly visualize disk space hogs on Windows. Dated, but light and efficient.
Might be a silly question: Does Scribus allow you to create PDFs and edit them? I've been trying to use PDF Candy to do the same thing, but it's kind of long since I'm not paying into that. Thanks!
I use okular and foliate as pdf and epub readers on Linux, foliate is good for books made of bitmaps which other ereaders can't handle
Scrcpy has a version for audio called sndcpy so if u want audio it's the same process for sndcpy
Thank you! My C drive has been steadily decreasing in size, and TreeSize helped me figure out the issue! Free space went from 6 to 15 GB! :)
If you don't hibernate your PC, go to an elevated command prompt (i.e. run it as an Administrator) and type the command
powercfg -h off
This will delete the HIBERFIL.SYS file and usually free up another 5 GBs or so instantly.
A better alternative to SCRCPY is Samsung flow. It can not only mirror Android screen but can also play the sound through PC. It can also be used to send and receive files , shared clipboard and a full suite of other tools. I think it's much better than SCRCPY
Scrcpy is universal, open-source also with sndcpy you can mirror audio as well.

Key free program I use is Fan Control. Allows for unified control of all my fans, with much more granular control.
Btw there is Sound copy too. But I it's still in testing. I used it once, it's not that bad.

ncdu is the best disk space analysis tool I have ever used. It is a command-line tool with an excellent user interface. Unfortunately, it is only available for Linux.

I've been using Revo Uninstaller for years. It, too, leaves remnants. I hunt them down with Everything.
How does Glary Utilities' uninstall feature compare to Revo?
