Why Mace Windu Is A CLOWN And Was RESPONSIBLE For Order 66

- Mace Windu is often cited as one of the most powerful Jedi of the entire Order. Indeed, through his use of Vaapad, he defeated Palpatine in combat, showcasing just how strong with the force he really was. However, it is also often claimed that he was somewhat of a wise Jedi, infusing elements of the dark side into the Jedi teachings that broke through much of the dogma that bogged down the Jedi in later years. Whilst this may be true, Windu also made some cataclismic mistakes. These mistakes may be some of the greatest in all of Jedi history. Afterall, many of these arrogance fuelled actions directly contributed to the fall of the Jedi Order and his eventual defenestration by Palpatine.
Before we begin, Id like to thank RugbyTeamHolsandJack for suggesting this topic. You’ll be entered into the Dooku VF Saber giveaway draw. Anyway, let us begin the video.
Now there are indeed many mistakes that Windu made, many more than I can cover in this video. As a prominent member of the high council, he played a role in mamny of the JEdi councils decisions leading up to ORder 66, often leading the charge into the depths of Tomfoolery. For example, Windu hardly pushed back against the idea of the JEdi entering the war as soilkders, nor did he oppose the apoption of a mysterious slave army into the Republics ranks that culminated in ORder 66. But these mistakes are shared with other members of the council so we will not overly focus on them today. Instead we will focus on the individual decisions and actions MAce Windu made that culminatedin his death and the descruction of the JEdi Order.
The first dumb mistakes we will explore today were during the First Battle of Geonosis. Now this is something we have explored before in more depth in another video, but its so monuntmentally stupid that it just needs to be higjkigjted again. Throughout this first battle of the Clone Wars, Windu made several key mistakes that would come back to haunt him, and the Jedi Order. The first, and pretty obvious mistake was not immediately killing Dooku where he stood. Windu even recieved visions during this encounter that showed that his decisive action there and then would save countless lives. Yet he still hesitated and was ultimately forced to flee.
Now of course this could be excused by the fact that he had attachment to Dooku as they were former friends. But if the intention was not to kill Dooku, and instead arrest him, why go alone? Dooku was a skilled duellist, and also had the backing of the infamous bounty hunter Jango Fett. Even if we ignore the countless geonosians and battledroids within the arena, Windu was likely outgunned on the balcony alone. If he had brought even a few Jedi with him to confront Dooku, they may have succeeded in arresting Dooku without having to kill him. But Windu’s arrogance prevented him from even bringing back up, thus allowing Dooku to gain the upper hand.
If we view this same confrontation just before the battle with a broader lens, Windus actions become even more absurd. The Jedi were aware of the droid army, and knew this would likely be a major undertaking. This was not a mere raid against pirates, it was a military undertaking against a major galactic faction that was hostile towards the Republic. To confront the entire separatist war machine with only 200 Jedi is simply stupid, hence why over 86% of them would perish in the battle. Furthermore, this split blood was needless. The Jedi were also aware of the Clone Army that the Republic had in waiting. Waiting literally a few more minutes would have meant that the Jedi were going in alongside an army, something that would have saved many lives. But Windu was rash, and his hasty response doomed many of his fellow Jedi to death, whilst also preventing the Repblic from delivering a crushing blow the the separatist leadership before the war even started. - Zábava

Anakin went to Yoda and requested help. Yoda did nothing to help The Chosen One. The Jedi Council basically just used Obi-Won as a babysitter.
You missed out Mace taking the council seat from Dooku which was a contributing factor to Dooku falling and leaving the order and giving Sidious and the CIS such a powerful leader

In 5000 BBY, there was a lost tribe of Sith that wielded black lightsabers. The tribe lived on Kesh. The Keshiri Sith also fought Luke Skywalker, and even seeked out Abeloth.
The other mistake on Windu’s end was the fact that almost all of the Jedi he brought with him to rescue Obi-Wan, Anakin and Padme in episode 2 were users of form 6 of lightsaber combat. Like what would possess his little mind in bringing them in the first place?

Another point against Mace Windu is his failure to understand that when dealing with someone who is emotionally unstable you NEVER order them to be idle, you HAVE to get them something to do, or they spiral (I know this from exp). His callous statement that IF Anakin was right about Palpatine then Anakin would have gained Mace's trust was a true slap in the face to someone who had served the Jedi with distinction for years despite knowing that many of the people he was serving didn't even want him around (remembering comic issues that showed other young Jedi bullying Anakin for having been a slave prior to coming to the Jedi Temple, among others, including and especially Mace Windu himself). That callousness plus ordered idleness gave Anakin's turmoil the time and anger to fester towards the final straw that broke the camel's back.
Anakin fell for many reasons, the Jedi fell for many reasons, and Mace cannot be blamed for everything, but he IS to blame for at least some of the problems that lead to their near extinction.

There’s also the fact that Windu was emotionally attached to the Republic, to the point of telling his padawans that they should fight for civilization (specifically the republic) rather than peace as the Jedi code dictated.
He genuinely dismissed one of the core tenets of his fucking religion because he was such a simp for a corrupt government that he didn’t see the rot that left it a gilded husk.
I'm not sure if you've done a video on this topic or not, but I think a video explaining all the different forms of lightsaber combat would be cool.

Windu thought the chosen one prophecy was about him, this is why he hated Anakin and sabotaged him every step of the way. He thought his melding of light & dark force powers would bring balance to the force. Windu was a narcissist. He also taddled on Dooku when they were on a mission together for his own personal gain.
How about the biggest blunders of the grand Jedi counsel throughout history. Including not showing Anakin the Jedi Master library that he'd higher teachings like force heal.

There is literally no canonical evidence to support the idea that Mace Windu believed he was the chosen one or that he was jealous of Anakin Skywalker While he may have had concerns about Anakin's emotional attachments and his susceptibility to the dark side, there is no indication that Mace Windu harbored jealousy towards Anakin in legends or in cannon in fact Mace Windu acknowledges that he indeed powerful but lacked control:

Mace Windu was perhaps one of the greatest warrior that the Jedi Order has ever created, but that was all he was a warrior with no true understanding of how the Sith evolved into a much more insidious way where he and many Jedi will die by betrayal and deception.
An idea I had for a video is what lightsaber designs work best for which styles of lightsaber combat.
How powerful would a Sith using Vaapad be?
Doesn't Vaapad draw on another person's darkness rather than one's own? If that's correct, the Vaapad would be no more useful than "regular" Juyo against a Jedi.

It's been like that for years. All the 'critical thinkers' love to come out and hate on the Jedi with the exception of Anakin (and Dooku is another big one) because they're convinced those are the true good guys. Most people don't even realize that we have the ability of hindsight because we're watching the situation whereas Windu lives through it and has to figure it out on his own. He doesn't get CZcams videos explaining what he theoretically could have done

Yoda is worse he single-handedly started the clone wars and is responsible for 800 years of jedi rule leading up to their destruction, not to mention the downfall of the republic. Even Sidious couldn't start the clone wars, but yoda did.

Really I'd note that it demonstrates my point I've been making for years that being Palpatine is not a genius; he's an average in intelligence and his enemies were just idiots I mean seriously there are plenty of mistakes that Sidious made with his plan that if he was going up against a reasonably intellegent person could have resulted in said person figuring the whole scheme out (A plan that wasn't even his and that he stole from his master Darth Plagueis the Wise and would NOT have been able to think up without his groundwork) and when he became Galactic Emperor he basically ruled in a way that was dooming his entire empire to collapse because it made too many enemies, put idiots in positions of power, wasted resources on stupid ego-trip projects that got destroyed and costed massive amounts of money and well when he cheated death he again screwed himself over in Operation Shadow Hand by starting the Imperial Mutiny when the New Republic wasn't down and out and he delegated his clones management to a single doctor that Carnor Jax bribed to poison his clones, he based his entire contigency plan on people that ended up betraying him.
So yeah Palpatine is idiot just not as big of one as Mace Windu and the entire Jedi Council.
It was many things that played into each other. To be fair, most of Palatine's success was due to his predecessors.
Darth Bane invented the rule of two for this exact purpose.
Bane was born around a time that the sith lead by Lord Kan and those wanted to take over the galaxy.
I don't think it has to do with being an idiot. Rather the Jedi and Windu specifically were arrogant and ignorant. Remember episode 1 , where he doubted that the sith would have returned?
This is what happens to a organization that doesn't have a enemy to fight anymore. Mace was never fond of Anakin because his mere presence was against the traditions of the Jedi order. He also wasn't very fond of Qui-gon Jinn who was the exact opposite of him. Their values and transitions were bound to fall.
As for Palpatine it has to do with the sith's indomitable powerhunger that consumes everything they have. He also didn't stole the plan from Plaugies, he just took over the mantle of sith master like everyone was. His empire was corrupt to and this is why Vader secretly wanted to overthrow Palpatine by building a underground unite.
Vader wanted to rule the empire with Luke and bring about true oder.
If anything, one of Palatine's biggest mistakes was to give a messed up Guy like Tarkin so much authority.

Also by the way I thought the Republic was stupid to demilterize with the Ruusan Reforms as they were functionally leaving the rest of the Galaxy to find for itself in doing so and discounted future threats, no sane nation in real life would ever do what the Republic did because it would result in being conquered.
As to Darth Bane the rule of two was flawed from the very beginning because Bane never considered what the Sith should do if they actually won and also was basically risking of the two Sith destroying the entire thing something that nearly happened not to long after his death due to the apprentice of Darth Cognus. However the lack of no plan for if they suceed that is a massive oversight that nobody really thought thru until Sidious succeeded in getting Sith control of the Galaxy and well when he had it he created a system doomed to fail because it made so many enemies and concentrated too much power into him and promoted egotistical people that were prone infighting, essentially he applied the Sith code of ethics to galactic rule and the result was an Empire that collapsed within 25 years of formation compare that to the Empires of other Sith that lasted for WAY longer. Best examples being the Empires of Tenabrae both of which survived without him at the helm and survived for a lot longer then the Galactic Empire without him running things.

one thing i would say in regards to his fight with palpatine is palpatine himself was also a ways from his prime both in force training and physical ability both of which were at their best during DE not in his fight vs windu, and sidious was a more sorcerer type sith in strong preference to use of force combat over lightsaber training.
also i think all these mistakes of his in clearly show further proof that even the more battle ready jedi of that era weren't nearly as capable as earlier or later era jedi when it came to personal combat or aiding in a military conflict.
i think the jedi during the clone wars were much to seperated from the general population of the galaxy which also made many like mace windu being much less empathic then they should be which is for sure one of the biggest issues with the jedi especially clone wars or similar incarnations of the jedi. as well as one reason i think most sith especially during their eras as full civilization and culture not a small cult of individual schemers were more empathic given they were encouraged to form connections they were all socio/psychopaths least back then where the jedi tended to encourage a degree of keeping a distance from others including to soem extent one another given their phobia of emotions and close connections with other people.
The Jedi Council should have let Anakin take some of his free time sooner and let Anakin rescue his mother.

What if he was a plant of sorts. Darth Window used geonosis to thin out the jedi ranks and used his seat to slowly push darth anxtykid away from the jedi, and in the end darth wrinkles gave him a small sector to rule over and retire. I find the idea that if people where nicer to anakin he would not have gone dark, anxtykid was a narcissistic entitled d-bag from the start and why should anyone just bow down to his every whim?

Mace Windu said that in the Revenge of the Sith novelization, and indoctrinated many knights and Palawan’s to think the same.
He was emotionally attached to the Republic, to the point where he deviated from one of the main Tenets of the code and was utterly blind to how corrupt and oppressive the Republic had become.

Windu was a baaaaaad mutha- "Shut Your Mouth" -king Jedi.
But he was arrogant and willful and blinded, as were pretty much all of the Order, particularly after Qui-Gon's death. And he absolutely made mistakes. So, in that regard: Yes, he was a major contributing factor to the downfall.
