Thank you Brooke, I got a 35. My advice is to do as many full length practice tests as you possibly can, and use the bubble sheet from the official ACT practice test "Preparing for the ACT Test". Make practices as realistic as possible: wear a mask, pace yourself with a watch, and do the entire test in 1 sitting with 1 break like the real test.
@Books Mellow Bounty Hi! Brooke said this in 1 of her videos I forgot which 1, but google "crack act" and you can find a bunch of full length practice tests. Good luck!
How did u do it, can u help me
@@arijconnolly1962 which sections are you struggling with? is it the material or timing? I found most of the questions themselves to be striaghtforward, the only catch is you don't have a lot of time to think and you're more prone to make mistakes timed than not timed. So I did a lot of full-length practice tests, self-studied the math/science topics that I didn't learned in school but showed up on the test (khan academy has great topical practice resources especially for math), got used to the fast pacing, and developed techniques that worked for me (though everyone is different, you have to test and see what techniques work best for you):
Science: the timing was the toughest for me in the science secion, so I didn't read the lenghty science passages, just the graph. Then I looked at each question and looked for the answer in the text. Sometimes I would be able to do all the questions without even reading everything
For English I did a similar thing: I skip right to reading all the questions, and as I read through it if it references "Paragraph 3" or a quote on line 81 or a word, I would circle it in the text and write down the question number. Usually the questions are chronologically arranged, though sometimes summaries or questions that span multiple paragraphs are not. After I'm done looking at the questions and labling them in the passage, I would read the passage, skim the parts where I didn't circle anything, and do the questions as I come up to their number.
Math: the questions roughly go from easiest--> hardest. I think this was also in 1 of brooke's videos but spend the first 20 minutes on the first 30 questions, next 20 min on the next 20 questions, and last 20 min on the last 10 questions. Don't get stuck on 1 for more than 2 minutes, even if they appear in the easy/medium section; skip it and come back later, u don't want to lose like 5 questions because of time because you got stuck solving 1. Also let your brain work on it subconsciously while doing other stuff; sometimes it becomes clear once you come back. Make sure you're familiar with your calculator & know tricks/programs that can help u quickly solve problems
Bubble sheet: Don't fill out each bubble as u figure out hte answer; but don't procrastinate to do it at the end either, especially with the intense pacing. I found a happy medium of filling out all the questions after I'm done with a page/passage, so if questions 4-9 are on 1 spread, I would answer 4-9 in the test booklet, then before I go to the next page and do 10 I'll fill in the bubble sheet for 4-9. That way you can easily check ur work if u have time, since the answer is right on the test booklet and not just on the answer sheet, and you reduce flipping between booklet & ans sheet, & you don't have to risk not having time to fill out bubble sheet at the end.
Pencils: bring multiple: some sharp for problem solving (I brought like 5), some purposely not-sharp for filling out bubble sheet (5 more. u can't have too many pencils. I wore them down by using them in practice tests, and wear it down as much as possible while still being able to apply pressure if that makes sense)
Highly suggest her prep course. I barely used it- less than 10 hours- and I raised my composite from a 28 to a 32. I mostly used it for English and my score raised 6 points.
Where's her course

I take it in 9 days and i've decided im going to try and watch as many videos like this as I can every day/night leading up to it.. I can't really sit down and study, im much more of a visual learner. That's why i'm really happy there's videos of people doing it visually, talking, illustrations, etc..
Watching this the day before. Smdh
feel you dawg we got it tho
Taking the ACT tomorrow, just watching the video for a morale boost! It really helped, I'm glad to come across this video

Taking it next week!
Taking the test tomorrow seeing if I can raise from a 27! Wish me luck!
This really is wonderful! It helped so much. Thank you ver much @SuperTutorTV
My big problem in ACT grammar was the question stem. For example, when they ask what is the most specific answer, I would chose something such as “certain” over a word choice like “hexagonal”, simply because it never hinted at the fact that it was a hexagonal shape. However it wasn’t asking what makes the most sense, it asked what is most specific, and hexagonal is far more specific than the word certain.
I didn't know I was taking a Pact test tomorrow until this morning and I just want to say thank you
I'm so scared for the ACT. I seriously have nightmares because of it! I went to this class that I paid for in my high school for the ACT and it just made me more scared! The fact that really scares me is the time! I feel I'm going to fail! R.I.P to me :(
how did it go?
Yeah
Please relax, you’ll just get better at it naturally
Thanks for the crack ACT site...you are an actual angel Brooke!
Watching this at 5:08 am , my test is at 8:00am , I haven’t done any prep

THANK YOU THE TIPS ARE GREAT
You're welcome!
I'm in eighth grade, and I have an opportunity to do a practice test, I mean, I will do the test with high schoolers, but it won't count. Either way, wish me luck in 2017!
Good luck!

this was 4 years ago, you’re a senior now hmmm?
I did that too! It was a really good experience
Thank you for all your tips 🤓😊
My pleasure!
My concepts aren't that weak except for some in English, but my biggest flaw is the time limit. My first practice test wasn't timed and I finished each practice test day by day so that's a flaw, that's why this summer I'm going to practice with a timer on. Also, I have that prep book, too.
Her advice was really good . And I am in 10th grade and scoring for a 30 the first time . So I am trying to get all the tips and tricks super early

Great help
Taking the ACT in October. Hoping for a 30+
So I realized that I basically wasted my summer. I kept taking ACT practice tests but I never went over the answers. I always got 34-35 math, 32-33 reading, 29-30 in english, and 28in science. I think I could've been a a completely different place if I actually got the low end scores up by actually looking what I got wrong. Don't do the same mistake I did.
I made a 14 my first time taking it my junior year now it’s my senior year I plan on hitting a 20
Brooke, my son is taking his ACT test in July, what is the best way to prep or what tools would he need to score high?
Took the PSAT last Wednesday! Done with one threshold. But to think it was only practice!!!!! :0

What I got: Deep existential dread.
Hi SuperTutorTV, I am a middle schooler that will be taking the ACT (practice for Duke Tip) but I would still like to get a 30- 36, so I was wondering if you had any tips for my specific case.
I'm probably only taking the SAT but I wanted to know if studying ACT methodologies and questions would help me learn to think in other ways, and if this is beneficial to SAT improvement?
I take it in a year and a half from now xD need to get that perfect score!
Thnx Ma'am ..................... Quite informative

So I’m a rising junior in high school. And my guidance counselor advised me to take the SAT and called the ACT a “back up plan”. Based on what’s supertutor is telling me and the internet, the ACT is of equal value to the SAT. Now I’m confused on which one to study for over the summer.
William Wu my counselor said that they are the same but it’s just what the school prefers and which is an easier budget for the school. Most schools I’ve seen take the act I prefer the act as well but it’s very difficult because it’s a limited time and you can’t take the time you want on it. It was very intense when I took it and I was very unprepared. So I’m telling u bruh study because that’s the only thing that’s gonna help u and learn how to read fast because when it was the reading part I was good at answering the questions but I just read the story over and over and wasted all my time on reading one passage that I didn’t get to answer the rest! So I guessed on most of the test, of course I didn’t think it was that hard but it’s the real deal bruh. And the higher your act score the more money in scholarship a college gives you! So even if you have to take it over and over try to get as much rest prep as you can and try to get the highest score
@@amiraj1583 what if we get a good score on SAT and ACT?

Taking this in two days y’all.....yea I’m just over it at this point.
I am taking the ACT tomorrow and I am in seventh grade. I am trying to take summer college courses and I am really nervous that I won't do very well. But, if I don't do well, I have time to take it again
Trust me. It really aint that serious, just take it slow but consistent, if you do too much and stress you will loose motivation or trust fast, get 1 or 2 acticities/extracurriculars that you really good at, and 1 or max 2 sports that you are very good at
Shawne Marinn haha, I’m 13 years old and taking the test for my first time tomorrow.. what is your highest score so far?
I will be taking it for the first time in 11 hours y’all!!!!!! 😱
How did you do?
is the act similar to the sat? i have a good bit of practice on the sat and i was wondering if the strategies i learned are transferable.
Yes.. SAT is a bit longer, so you have more time.. Different type of reading though so be aware of that. If you are good at math, you'll be fine. But overall yes, skills are transferable.
Oh June 11
my first time taking the test
Good luck!

April 4th here we go
Hey i'm not to high school yet (I'm in middle school 7th) but i'm taking the ACT test in two months, anyone have advice on it? Thanks.
I know you're in high school by now but here's some advice for anyone who is going through a similar situation. I'm guessing this was for a talent search of some sorts which is what I took it for. In this case, you're probably going to qualify for either humanities or stem related programs based on your ACT results.
If you know you're stronger in reading/writing than stem or vice versa, hone in on that part of the test when you study. You don't want to spread yourself too thin and end up not scoring high enough to qualify for either program. This doesn't mean be comfortable with completely tanking a section bc this impacts your composite score which isn't very important for these types of programs but is a cool thing to brag about on your college applications. It's important to prioritize while studying, don't spend all of your time studying the subject that you're weak in. That time will be of much better use to you if you spend it getting as high of score as you can in your strongest area.
That being said, this is only applicable for students that are taking the ACT before their scores actually matter on their college applications (I think most kids take this in 7th grade like you and I did). If you're planning on sending your scores to schools with the intention of getting admitted to those colleges you should probably follow a different study plan.
Mam , is sat is best or act
Good luck to anyone doing it in a few hours
You should do AP classes!
Can we attend in this exam in any ages?
The LSAT makes both the ACT and SAT look like finger painting.

Thanks for the video!
Is it even possible with enough daily time and determination (with six months to prepare) to get a perfect score if your first practice test was only 24?
Yes! Just go through what you got wrong and try to understand WHY it was wrong. Good Luck!
taking it a 4th time next week... kinda burned out so I haven’t studied but I felt like my 3rd one had too hard of a curve

Why do I suck in the reading. I get high 30's in everything else (math, science, and English). But I get looooowwww 20's in reading and it brings my composite down. I have practiced it for around 5 months every day but I took it twice since then and I scored the same...

@@kenzidowdell3840 Life doesn't end at the ACT. Write a good essay for your college applications. You still have the chance to go to a community college and then transfer to a good college (maybe even your dream school) for a 4-year degree.
Go to a two-year college, get your prerequisites there for a LOT less money, and then transfer to a good four-year college and graduate from there. All employers look at is where you graduated from, not how you got there.
With a 21 act, you can still get accepted into a decent 4 year. Just write a good essay, and get good extracurricular activities.
you make it sound like a 36/36 is easy?!
