S Mary Simpson they were equal in difficulty, the only thing that’s hard to prepare for is timing. It’s a lot different preparing at home vs in a room

On my most recent attempt on the ACT for the reading I completely bombed it. Got a 22...but I think I know why. One of the passages in particular bored me to DEATH. It was a historical passage about some random event in George Washington's life. I couldn't hold my attention and began drifting off. The paragraphs were huge so it was difficult finding the information for the question. One thing I learned this week while studying is that roadmapping is very useful. I'm sure you're familiar with this method but if not basically what you do is jot down notes on the side of each paragraph that summarize it. That way when reading the questions you'll know where to go back to.

I wonder if you have any advice for me:
I have been trying your advice, but I have not been able to finish nearly in time. When I slow down i have full readings that I havent attempted by the end of the test, and when I don't I'm missing questions by skipping them in the middle. I'm a slow reader. Do you have any advice I can use to finish every question but still get them right?
personally, i dont even bother reading the paragraphs before i go to the multiple choice, i just scan. it might not be the best method but i got a 29 on my reading section for the pre act doing this

I get perfect scores on the pre act but I get mid twenties on the act and I hate it. I’m not sure why but I go incredibly slowly on the actual act.
Possibly stress? That has been my problem. I know it sucks, but you probably just need to learn how you test and find what calms you

I got a 33 composite (35 English, 36 Math, 32 Reading, and 30 Science).
y’all make it sound so easy. the highest i’ve scored on reading is a 22 :/ i’ve been practicing though and hope i at least get a 25 on tmrw’s test (my fourth one).
