Also, make sure you focus on active vs passive voice during study time. I took the ACT 5 times and always missed the 3 to 5 questions that had something to do with that subject. Sometimes it’s not about recognizing the right answer, but understanding the answers that are wrong.

9:12 However has at least one exception to the rule. When it's used as a nonessential adverb it can have comma's on both sides (meaning, you can remove however from the middle of the sentence if it isn't important to the overall meaning). Generally, the sentence before in cases like this will provide more clues of a comparison of some kind.

Titles are always capitalized before the name. SupertutorTV didn't do that in the third example of "Comma Errors: Appositive Phrases." It should be: "In that fateful session, President Abraham Lincoln advised Congress to vote its conscience." Yes, "Congress" is capitalized as well. "Congress" is capitalized because it is a proper noun referring to a governmental legislative body.

Vic Wang What i do on those is that ACT english passages want to be CONCISE and Clear so any redundant answers or answers that contradict the passage should be eliminated. if the additional information is relevant to the passage and the paragraph then it’s likely the right answer. i hope this helps.

Why wouldn't you use dashes for "My mom the lady in the hat is here" like "My mom-the lady in the hat-is here"?
ThIS is the thing that COMPLETELY sucks about grammar. I'm sure that to the arbitrary people, in their own minds, they know which phrase is more important, but again, THIS IS PURELY ARBITRARY!!! The sentence: "The lady in the hat is here," IS A PERFECTLY VALID, GRAMMATICALLY CORRECT sentence!!! The idea that it cannot "stand on its own," IS PURELY ARBITRARY!! There is no way of making these determinations, other than YOUR OPINION! This kind of nonsense DOES NOT EXIST IN MATH!!
