hey, I really enjoyed your video. Would you consider making a video on American students applying directly to international universities - not for study abroad, for all of college. I've been searching many places online but there seem to be no good videos or articles on tips, necessities, what to consider, etc. Thanks!

Very nice high quality content. I wish there was more channels like this on youtube.
I just took my first ACT in Feb without any prep whatsoever.
    I got a Composite of 27:
    26 in English
    25 in Math
    28 in Reading
    27 in Science
    26 in STEM
I am retaking it in April (My school offers it to all Juniors for free). Any books you suggest that will give me the best prep within the next few months? Tutors and classes are kinda out of the question so I am looking for good books.
    Thank you :)

+Jamie Brendle get the official ACT guide for sure-- take every test and go over your answers. TIME YOURSELF! IGNORE the essay content-- it's outdated! I also recommend that you check out some tips for the writing section if you're going to add the essay (it's different from the official book) -- I have a blog on it on my website (supertutortv.com/main/how-to-write-the-new-act-essay/:) I'm going to be posting explanations of the released official ACT sample test (from the ACT website) in the next couple weeks-- so if you subscribe to our channel you can be sure to be alerted of when that's released-- it's about the equivalent of a 1st tutoring session with me so may be helpful for you, too. The Corn Math book isn't bad and for you, the McGraw Hill 50 Skills Math book may not be bad either. For the English you can try the Erica Meltzer, but it's not as good as her SAT version... Science and Reading stick to real tests. Also check my Quora feed-- I have more tips there as well: www.quora.com/profile/Brooke-Hanson-3/answers/ACT-standardized-college-admission-test

27 without any studying huh? I envy you. I busted my ass off trying to get a 27 on my third try but only got a 24.

Damn man, you a junior or senior? If your a junior and think you can do better I would definitely retake a fourth or 5th time. My friend increased from 24 to 29 on his fourth try and I'm at 29 now and retaking one last time in October in an attempt to break 30 before I begin applying to colleges since I'm a senior.

Jamie Brendle I'm a senior actually. Weird thing is I don't struggle with academics in school at all. I have a 3.8 GPA it's just that this test always gets me.

okay i suck at act i got a 17 i need help on the math and science cause these arent my strong areas how can i get better at math even though i suck at it?

For the Science I thought it was hard as shit before I took Chemistry and Physics because everything on that section was unfamiliar stuff. So I wouldn't say learn Chem and Physics but rather become acquainted with units and different things like a mol is a unit of air pressure etc. Then once you go through an entire Science section and you can understand everything, then work on the timing and whatnot by just taking section over and over again.
For the math if you have trouble with the actual content so do a section and possibly ask your math teacher what specific topic of math it actually is. But if you have an ACT tutor then ask them. Then you should become strong on those topics and move from there just keep practicing bro.
Just know it's actually possible to bump up like 10+ if you study smart and effectively plus put in the work. Good luck man I'm trying to improve my score as well.

I have at least a 34 on Reading, science, and English. Then my math score is a 23 😐

I really feel like the math section as a whole needs to be improved. It seems incredibly pushy to those who do not have the strongest backgrounds in math naturally. However, I do understand it could be an incentive for us to get better at math, it just seems a little unfair the individuals who are excellent students and know how to learn at exceptional rates, but the math portion of the test does not truly capture their abilities in math at all. Some students will be unable to think as quickly as others, but could still get more questions right if given more time PER question. Such as 45 questions for 60 minutes. It definitely puts more weight on each question to make sure it is answered correctly, but I feel like it properly balances the math abilities that are reflective of our every day college students at a far better rate.
I understand this is a CZcams comment section, I have been scoring flat 21s in math on both my PreACT and ACT tests, and I have another test coming up this Saturday. I just wanted to say that I think the math section may be balanced disproportionately compared to the rest of the test when it comes to student readiness and general abilities. :))
