- Welcome back to my Dad’s amazing guitar collection. If you haven’t yet seen the original video, here it is: • My Dad’s amazing guita...
It was an absolute joy to plug them all in to an amp. My favourites from the day? I have 3.....
(1) In first position we have the Gretsch Nashville Keith Scott..... Wow, that blew me away. It was like stepping into a Rolls Royce. Everything from the visuals to the sounds... I just loved it.
(2) The James Burton Telecaster - I loved the big D profile neck and the quality Strat like tones.
(3) The Burns Dream - I never expected to see this as anything more than a novelty item. But it dripped of quality. The knobs and the neck and the sound.... just quality!
And a final mention to the 1966 Gretsch Tennessean.... a lovely piece of history that just had all the mojo you could ever want.

This guy is an absolute beast on the guitar! I try to learn the licks he plays by slowing down the video lol. Cheers from the US!
Ah, thank you so much for the compliment Kennedy.... the young me used to dream about receiving a comment as nice as that one. 🙏
@@paulstaffordcook8799Jesus man you might not like the PRS but she loves you, never heard you sound better
@@pieteytrenton2747 Thanks man 🍻
LOVELY FATER & SON relationship...More like Best Pals..sweet Doggo too....A WARM LOVING HOME FULL OF MUSIC ...THANK YOU FOR SHARING ♥️
Thank you very much for that lovely comment. Cheers Kenneth 👍
Your Dad is just the sweetest guy ever .. brilliant collection .. witnessing his undiminished and unbridled love of guitar is inspiring .. may we all grow up to be like him .. cool sideburns included 😎 🙂 ☮🏴🏴
Thank you Ian, he’ll be delighted you included his sideburns 🤣👍
Simply beautiful on so many levels. Thank you so much for sharing your dad and his wonderful love of guitars.. What a cherished gift he has installed in you, I am very thankful my dad bought me my first guitar at the age of 12 years old, it was a gift of love that continues to give back to me now at the age of 68. Many blessings and much love from Danny in Texas.
Thank you Danny! Your comment leaves me smiling. Cheers to you 🍻
What a lovely Dad you have. Thanks to you and him for letting us see and hear these amazing guitars.
Our pleasure! Thank you Craig 👍
What a guitar player and lovely to see a shared passion between father and son. I recon Paul’s forgotten more chords than I know!
Thank you xlp3t3r! Thanks for watching 👍
Can’t be a better feeling than jamming with yer old man :)
Great playing both 👌
Couldn't agree more! Cheers Robin 👍
Well, not always. My dad played accordion.
What a lucky man you are to have a father like that!
Love the relationship that you have with your dad. And I will watch this video over and over just to hear your playing while I work. Magic touch, good sir!
Ah, thank you Ritchie, your comment has me smiling 😁
I am at a loss for words, first your dad seems to be a fantastic person, 2nd great collection, 3rd I could listen to you play for hours, great video Paul, always look forward to them thanks.
Thank you Jeff! My Dad will smile reading your lovely compliment 👍
Really nice to see you and you father having a shared love of guitars. In my humble opinion, your playing style really shines on those wonderful Gretsch guitars.
Thank you very much Pauly! Maybe I need to get me one 😁. Maybe I need to stop spending money mind you...
You for sure are a wonderful player Paul. More than that I love the humor and passion you bring to the videos. Sure is a relief from all the “look at me, I coulda been a contender” CZcams content. One more thing: I love the way you bring out each guitar’s inherent nature rather than homogenizing them all into a single player sound. One of the main reasons I watch your videos is for the “voyage of discovery” approach. Stellar.
What a lovely comment Bruce, thank you 🙏
Nice to see you play those gretsch's.
Nice to see you and your dad having good times together too!
Passionate bloke he is!
Reckon he's a proud'n!!
Ah, thank you Mark, what a lovely comment 👍
Amazing Grace from an amazing guy..
Give a kiss to your lovely Dad...he has an awesome guitar collection but has a lovely boy ! He my have given given a good education. Love your channel Paul, you and Dad play like Kings 😉 ! Cheers from France
Thank you Belo Blues, glad you’re still watching my wee videos 😁👍
After years of playing solid bodies, i came back to my first love (the hollow body), for no apparent reason, i suddenly fell the need to have a "real" big bodied guitar in my hands and bought an old Greco Gretsch 6120 copy from 1985 (on refret now) and i love it, it's different, the feeling, the air in the sound, the grasp.. congratulations to you both for this wonderfull collection and the playing, a real pleasure
Thank you Pandor ski 👍. I can picture the sound of that old Greco Gretsch.... lovely. Cheers for watching
Beautiful collection and your playing does them each justice. Nice clip Paul!
That single coil Gretsch is just stunning. It's lovely to see these guitars being played without them trying to be sold to us. Cheers Paul
That's the one, innit? Has the same woody sound as an early Jazzmaster. Totally home for me.
Thanks StrawPete1 👍. Yeah, I never actually thought of that..... you’re right, every time I watch the Andertons channel you’re never quite sure if the stuff REALLY is that good or is it just part of the sales process... the latter, I’m sure.
@@paulstaffordcook8799 of course, they are sellers before everything else, so their never ending enthusiasm with each new arriving guitar is obviously suspect by nature, so yes, it's refreshing to hear instruments for their own sounds, no other subliminal purposes
This is such a lovely video! The guitars are so cool to see and hear. And to see Paul and his Father's common love of guitar and music is a rare and beautiful family thing. The guitar playing in this video absolutely mesmerized me! I have been playing guitar for a long, long time, and this is some of the best music coming out of each guitar I have ever heard.
Wow, that is such a lovely compliment! Thank you so much John, really appreciated 🙏
Wow. That Burns is an absolute beauty 😍
Beautiful playing my friend. The guitars are awesome.
Lovely collections, all are beautiful and sound great! Thanks for sharing!

All amazing!! Thank your Dad for allowing us the privilege of the view using our ears. I saw the first video and this part 2 was a treat. Those cups over your right shoulder should have your Utube name on and sell them. I would buy the whole set.

This was so much fun to watch. I'm glad I took the time to enjoy this. That's an incredible line up of glorious instruments. Of course, I'm very partial to the various Gretsch guitars. Your Dad is a lucky guy! Great playing in this video!
Thank you very much! Delighted you enjoyed the vid, and thank you for the compliment 👍
A joyous watch! What tones and playing. Loved how you played differently depending on how each inspired you. Your Dad's a champ - what a collection. Would like an hour in there too... lol
Thank you Peter, glad you enjoyed the vid, it was a joy making it. My Dad will be smiling reading all these nice comments 👍😁
I really enjoyed watching and listening, thanks mate, an amazing collection and beautiful playing style and impeccable tone. Your dad leaves me with little hope that I'll ever be cured of my collecting, I'm never lying when I say all I need is one more, lol 😁👍
Thank you Michael🙏. You’re right, the perfect number of guitars to own is always your exact collection plus 1 more 🤣
Amazing playing!! Every guitar makes you play something different.
Thank you so much 😁
Love this Paul. Fiesta Red Strats are some of my favourite guitars of all time. Couldn’t have only a 3 way switch though, gotta have positions 2 and 4 on a strat for me now. But lovely playing as usual.
Lovely to see and hear the collection again. My favourites were the same three as you picked. Beautiful tones. I thought you were in your element with the Gretsch guitars. Seemed to bring out a bit more in your playing. Thanks to your Dad for letting us see and hear
Thank you Archie! It was great fun filming it 😁. Yeah, maybe you’re right..... maybe it’s about time I got my hands on a big Gretsch..... Mind you, I’d need to get saving my pennies....
Wow, what a guitar collection! Nice playing from father and son.
Thank you kindly Simon 👍
My God.Between you and your dad you have the contents of a very high end guitar shop.Very impressive.Nice to see your dad playing.ATB
Thanks Graeme! Ha ha, you’re probably right, I never thought about it like that.... “Cook’s Guitar Emporium”🤣
I am so glad I stumbled upon your channel. You are such a great guitar player. Very inspiring to make me want to pick mine up and learn more! Great to see you with your dad and his treasure!!!Stunning guitar collection!
Thank you Glen! Comments like yours are genuinely appreciated. Thank you.
Fantastic video! loved it from start to finish! .....Favorite Guitar: 1966 Gretsch Tennessean - and lovely to hear you both playing it!
Glad you enjoyed it! Yes, it’s a beautiful thing to hold, it even smells old 🙏😁
Brilliant, thanks Paul and Mr Cook senior 👍.
Thanks John, our pleasure 😁
wow - I thought your own collection was something to behold until I saw that! Just amazing. What a great sounding amp too!
Thank you kindly Cathal, yes it’s quite the collection 😁. Cheers for watching
Good man Paul, jaysus that's one hell of a collection your Dad has 👍 he's a tasty player too 👍 peace and love to you Brother Man ✌️❤️😎

Some beautiful sounds there Paul. Thoroughly enjoyable vid👍

Hey Paul love your playing
Your welcome love the Stratocaster.
The proverbial kid in a candy shop - - candy apple red that is! You're playing was just what I needed today. Please thank your Dad from all of us!! 😍🎸
Thank you Sammywhat 👍
Hi Paul ! Greetings from Akron , Ohio USA ! Thanks for this video , all your Dad's guitars are beautiful , and well cared for and maintained ! It was a real treat to hear him play ! You can just tell how much he loves his guitars , I am the same way about wiping my guitars off after I play . I always cleaned and polished and new strings the morning after a gig ! 4 hours of Rock - n - Roll and beer are pretty tough on a guitar . Thanks to both of you , and a special Hello to your Dad !
Thank you Gangnam, I’ll pass on your Hello to my Dad 👍
This is my third time watching this , hey dad you have a brilliant collection.
Third time? I’m impressed 🤣. Cheers Iain
That’s a really cool collection. Great range of guitar
Thanks t j 👍
Some lovely playing.
Thank you Bob 😊
Incredibly cool guitar collection! Such great playing man! Your father seems like a very cool cat
Thank you Daniel! 👍
Beautiful guitars Paul, your dad has a real nice collection there! I'm also constantly blown away by your tasteful playing brother! 👌
Thanks Ts and Cs 👍. Delighted you like my playing.
Beautiful playing and guitars cheers!
Thank you Alan 👍
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this!!! My dad and I share the same love for guitar!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers Brian 👍
Brian, perhaps you might do one similar with your father . You are fortunate as well to share playing music together.
That's a damn good arsenal of licks and guitars! 👍👍
Thank you M. Mcfly, I’m a lucky boy.
That's some of the most beautiful playing i have ever heard. And what a stunning collection! :) Loved the video. greetings from Norway. New subscriber ;)
Well thank you JSHofficial, delighted you stopped by my wee channel. Greetings back to you in beautiful Norway 👍
Stumbled across your channel searching Cornell Romany videos yesterday and thought "Wonder what a Gretsch would sound like through it?" Thank you for satisfying my curiosity (not half!) and thanks to your dad for sharing his immaculate collection.
Thank you Bobe, delighted you liked the vid. And hope you liked the Gretsch through the Cornell 😊
What a stunning collection of guitars (and mugs) your dad has. Both my father and step father have now passed and it's great to see how you both have a great passion that connects the two of you. I never had any connection that I could enjoy with either one of my father's as passionately as you have and I wish you both many more years of shared experiences.
This was a lovely video, although I am jealous of both the guitars and the playing :-)
What a lovely comment Simon, thank you!
Some nice guitar from pops, the son with some nice chops.
Enjoyed this video, Paul. :)
Glad you enjoyed it Gunroar! Cheers mate.
Fantastic collection! I would play them all, every day!
Thank you Mike! Glad you liked my Dad’s collection 👍
@@paulstaffordcook8799 It's an incredible collection and you play beautifully! I am very impressed.
Amazing sounds - so pure
Thank you 👍
Wow! I really enjoyed when you played Amazing Grace, it sounded great! What an awesome guitar collection.
Thank you Jay, I’m delighted you liked my little rendition of that song. 👍
Show and Tell with dad.
Beautiful guitars and a lovely moment in time with father and son. You are both very blessed. What a crossover of sounds between the PRS, Fenders, and Gretsch guitars. I guess that's one way of searching out your sound while you wait for your custom. Lol
I didn't have those types of moments with my dad, but I sure enjoy the ones others have with theirs. Cheers to moments to remember.🥂👍
Thanks dad for sharing your guitars with all of us, beautiful instruments.
Thanks GW. Yes, I’m a lucky boy to be able to share that love of guitars and guitar music with my Dad.
@@paulstaffordcook8799 Enjoy those special moments my friend.🙂
Your playing of smile on the gold Gretsch has me tearing up it's so beautifully played.
Ah, thanks Al 🙏. Still think it would benefit from the Al Dixon guitar lick you always put into our Romeo and Juliette 🤣
What a fantastic inheritance...er collection 😁
Beautiful collection! That gold top Gretsch had me rushing to Reverb to see how much that Keith Scott model goes for (not cheap). Surprisingly that Gretsch was the one that stole my heart. But more impressive than the guitar collection was your playing. The range of genres and styles you covered so effortlessly and expertly was really impressive. There are a lot of great players on CZcams but only a handful can do what you just did.
What a lovely compliment XLBiker13 🙏. In fact I read your comment aloud to my wife, to remind her she married talent..... she just smiled and asked if I would take the bins out 🤣
beautiful guitars and gorgeous playing
Many thanks 357jazzman 👍
Fantastic playing Paul!
Thank you 🙏
my bucket list is one of those first ones you played because of the trench bound maple and rosewood. omg!!!!
Speechless ! What an amazingly beautiful video. You've made me realise that I'm locked in a pentatonic prison whereas you move in and out effortlessly. I think when more find your stuff you're going to get seriously popular. Amazing guitars, amazing sounds and amazing playing.
Wow, what a lovely comment, thank you so much Professor 🙏
Mr Paul you have such a wonderful gift and I'm sure many hours practicing and playing and i bet your dad was with you all the way such a special collection but even better to get to spend time with him love to hear you both jam a little. Brings back some great memories of me and my dad trying to pick thank you for posting it . Best Wishes from South Carolina
Thank you Brad, I’m delighted you liked this video. It was fun to make. The nearest we’ve come to a jam on CZcams is in a video a couple of years ago, during the opening few minutes: czcams.com/video/9h2noe26lCE/video.html. Cheers for watching Brad.
Beautiful memories Brad Clayton thanks for sharing. Amazing how inspiring this video is iv teared up just listening and reading the comments.
Amazing collection. Thank you for sharing. What's very obvious, is when you try a great guitar, each one will take you immediately to a different inspiration and insight.. Which we can see here
Well said! Cheers for watching 🍻
Your dad's music room reminds me of mine with the shelves bulging with books and cds lol...my wife complains that surely i don't need another cd box set as its all on Spotify or another coffee table book on guitar's lol...she said suspiciously the other day when I was playing my ibanez George Benson GB10 how long you had that? I'm sure it had one of those bendy things on it...? She meant my bigsby fitted epiphone casino lol...your dads collection is gorgeous though...and such great examples....I thought I had a lot at 13..lol...and you make them sound so sweet...everytime I hear you play I never make it through to the end as I'm inspired by you to play...lol....a man's got to have a music room...
Thanks Paul, your comment made me smile. I think we can all relate to that 🤣. Cheers for watching
Love it 😍
I love you and your pop, Paul. Thanks so much for letting us into your lives. Cheers, Marty. PS: fabulous playing, you inspire me so much but you are maradonna and I am skelly legs.
🤣, I love your analogy Marty! Thank you man 🙏
Outstanding Paul. And good to see your Dad in fine fettle. Please tell him I’m asking for him👍
Thanks Al! Yes, I’ll tell him 👍
You have the coolest Dad, no doubt about it.
Thank you Ben. He’ll be delighted to hear that 👍
A fine collection, and fine playing.
Thanks kjatexas 👍
I am going to show my wife this video to convince her that I need more guitars, and that G.A.S after all is a good thing.
Yes, totally agree! Without gear, men would just be bitter and resentful 🤣

Thanks for the very nice video, this was Great, Cousin Figel
Thank you Cousin Figel 👍
Very very beautiful😍
Thank you Viktor, delighted you enjoyed the vid 👍
Paul holding the Rickenbacker “i dont know what to play?” Me screaming at the screem TOOMMMMM PETTTTYYYYYYY 😅👌🏻 some class guitars there!
Right enough! That completely escaped me! 🤣
Loved the video and your Dad's insight on things! My 64 Tennessean is incredible especially after a great setup and I crank it with my 79 Deluxe Reverb and Marshall rig! I also crank my Rickenbacker 370 and it has a great cranked tone as well! Neither just 'jangleboxes' although many Americans forget Neil Young, Stephen Stills, Pete Townsend and Paul Weller cranked those babies out, back in the day!
Thanks Billy, sorry for late reply. You have a ‘64 Tennessean? I’m jealous 😁. Well keep it safe and happy jammin’
You are truly talented ! There's Something special about your playing.... might be your soul I guess
Well thank you for that lovely compliment. Much appreciated Mark 🙏
Man, that's what I call a treasure. Hey, in the other video I,ve seen your dad has them well kept on their cases . I heard that's better to have them out but I dont know if it's true. I have mine that way (because I can also enjoy seeing them) but I would value your opinion. You,re lucky man. Congratulations from Spain
Thank you Fernando. I certainly have all 5 of my guitars hanging on the wall. Same reason as you, I love to look at them 🤣🙏. As regards the health of the guitar…..? I suppose storing a guitar in its case (if the case is then stood vertically) is ultimately the best for the guitar. The finish is protected from light, heat and dust. But where’s the fun in that?! So I will definitely continue to maximize my pleasure by having them out all the time. Cheers Fernando
Sublime playing Paul 👌
Ah, thank you John 🙏
Lovely video. Your dads a great player too.
Thank you Marc 👍
That birdseye maple is a beauty mate
Beautiful tones!
Thanks Erik
