Man, this is one of the best DMX interviews I have seen. Dude was funny, witty, truthful all at the same.
In spite of his flaws, DMX is real much respect!
I met D like in '04 at Harlem Hospital during Christmas, he was giving gift cards to kids in the hospital. No biggie for the brother. I can tell at least 3 funny stories from that day, but I'll stick to a part of this one. He's sitting down eating, and they had Christmas music playing behind him. He turns, see where the music was coming from, and is like, "my mother had an 8 track"!! I help to leave the Pediatric ward. He asked me while climbing into his truck, "You rollin Dog"?! In my stupid voice, "Nah, I gotta stay here". That's not the good part, just funny to me. The Brother goes to 125th St. and comes back with a big ass boom box and a big ass TV (another funny story) for the day room. Since that day and every day since, no matter what, DMX is my DOG!!!! He was a HERO to those kids that day, and that's what's up! If you EVER read this and and would let me share a drink with you, I would be honored!! Oh, and I was a cop at the time. I learned to look into the Heart of a Man. Despite ALL, D is a MAN I will always have the greatest RESPECT for.
