Y'all gotta admit, This interview was way better than you thought it would be. Skillz had some awesome stories and has great energy to match the vibe of the show.
You have to be young and never heard of Skillz to say some crazy shit. His album from where is fire. He can spit as he is an mc spitting better than 95% of garbage out today. He freestyles also. He is hiphop. Battle rapper also. He is ill. I saw this and couldn't have clicked it so fast. One of his crew members battle my peoples back in the day. His crew the supafriendz was crazy nice. It is more than just stories and he is the founder of the rap up which that lame rapper Murda bit his shit.

He said "yes" in a very humble way " I started trippin he shook my hand real cool dude he didn't diss me or nothing but mad props to him he is a cool after our flight landed he dapped me up again and said "aight bro stay blessed ..be easy." Highlight of my trip.

As a Richmonder, I was super hype to see this. Skillz definitely deserves his flowers and all accolades. Skillz is extremely humble and low key. And if you’re really not familiar, u really wouldn’t realize how far his resume extends and how relevant he really is to hip-hop. As a fan, I’m happy to see him let us in and learn things we didn’t know. And he always reps hard for RVA & he’s surely a VA legend! #2UP2DOWN

I bet a lot of people slept on this one, being a fan of Mad Skillz early, I knew the man was an underrated, but very respected MC. He can go bar for bar with greatest, and actually has,and as the world now knows, he has the confidence of one of the greats..
Maaaaan,im so glad I found this interview! Growing up in Richmond and actually seeing Skillz come up as a young man, playing ball with him and his homies off Forest Hill or at Freeman high, yelling HIP HOP every time they scored, cyphers on Broad St all dat, looool. Brought up so many memories, listening to DJ El Bravador, the Supafriendz remix,etc..people don't realize how much Richmond was a hub for everything coming down from the North and everything coming up from the South!!
Facts or undeniable facts?...Drink Champs is definitely one of them shows you have to respect for honoring those in the culture of Hip Hop.
Facts.... FACTS!!!!
They missN too many legends... example; salt n pepper, public enemy, Rakim, Large professor, Roxanne shante, kid cupri, 3rd Bass, biz markie, all them niggas that WERE ON SELF DESTRUCTION, and ALL THEM NIGGAS THAT WAS ON SAME GANG WEST COAST SHIT...
For sure, but damn the word legend is thrown around like crazy these days. I consider someone like bob marley a legend. No offense to mad skillz(and many other guests), i been listening to him since "from where", but if he is a legend bob marley is GOD(not a god the god). With that aside, this was a dope episode. The last half hr or so, was prolly the best 30 mins in DC history. Mad love to skillz.

They really didn't promote him well.. Because I've never heard of him until now.. But hpite seems lit and legit
I first heard about him back in 96 when I was in the pen. My homeboy from Texas put me on to him & dat first album was hard
This was actually one of the best interviews for drink champs, and it seemed that Skillz deserved this, as i didn't realise how much work he had done, sure other people feel same way. may this elevate him more.

Halfway thru this shit and I’ve been saying for a MINUTE we need a Documentary on VA and how the sounds and raps of Skillz, Timbaland, Missy, Pharrell and Chad, Clipse, shaped a whole culture and birthed and ushered in a new sound into Hip Hop. Hopefully we get something like this in the near future because all the names I mentioned are past due for their Roses and their contributions to the culture
