My performance on Penn & Teller: FOOL US Original air date August 27 2018 Season 5 Episode 10 Darcy Oake makes Penn's selected card vanish and reappear inside a bottle locked in a box.
This is a PRIME example of why knowing how a trick is done does not have to ruin it. I followed it, front to back and STILL was amazed and entertained. And THAT'S what magic is REALLY about. Secrets are one thing, being able to entertain and amaze has NOTHING to do with secrets. I loved this.
Even if it was forced, he could have told me that he's going to put the 5 of hearts in a bottle that is corked, inside 2 boxes that will both be locked shut, and I wouldn't understand how he did it.
Been a fan since BGT with your Doves. Blew my mind! Always wanted to see you on P&T. Great job and even though you didn't fool them you entertained the hell out of me again! Want to see you live some day!
This guy is a pro. Which means he uses the latest and most popular tricks. It’s like singing Billboards top 10 in auditions. Even if you are really good, you still hit “enjoyable” instead of “surprising”.
It was a pleasure getting to see this live and meeting you in person in Windsor! You are such a class act Darcy. Thank you for being an inspiration for many up and comers to bring style and class to our shows.
3:30 mistake here: Pen puts 1 card face up as instructed, you'll notice when he's given the deck back the 8 of diamonds is folded (sneaky pen) , he then flips the deck and proceeds to take out his forced card 5 of hearts. It's impressive how Pen plays along so as not to ruin the trick, because the magic is being done for the enjoyment of all viewers, not just P and T. Still loved the trick and have no idea what went wrong with the card selection process, or how he got the loaded bottle to swap
@Declan Washington yeah penn folded the 8 diamonds and put at the top to mark it to see which card he chosen. Haha but is good way to expose the trick. Its a cheap trick though, would been more impressive if he is allowed to sign on the card.
4:17 for the card trick, if you frame by frame through 4:18 there’s 1 frame where the cards are missing entirely. He goes up with 3, then there’s a frame with just his hand, then he goes down with 2. But his hand doesn’t change positions, so he’s not doing a slight at least at that moment.
It’s more difficult to fool Teller. Penn is not too difficult to fool. That’s why in most cases, if you fool Penn, you fooled Penn. but if you fool Teller, you fooled both Penn and Teller.
Really enjoy watching this show. Everytime someone performs I am rooting for the "fooling" part because I am like a kid astonished how cool the magic is and I don't want to hear or know how it's done, I think that it means much more to me if I have no idea how it's done. This was a great performance and one of my favorites on the show.
I love you so very much Darcy I'm so very proud of u. I think your the best illusionist in the world! I really adored the beautiful card magic when u put the card in the bottle that was wonderful how u did that. Your beautiful brother Bruce will forever be proud of u and will continue to rest in peace in heaven. #RIPBruce 😍😇😘✌️🙏🌹🌹🌻🌻🤗❤️❤️❤️🦄🔥🔥🔥🔥
Penn and teller always proof that all those Got Talent magician is just silly actor, pretty face for amateur, do Darcy know that other magician sign the card now day? If Penn sign the card and the card goes to the bottle i will call Darcy Pro, but this trick is easy. Well at least Darcy is very handsome, i wont mind watching him again and again.
I get a sense of recognition and pride whenever I see Darcy Oake. Not only as a man learning magic and piano but as a fellow Winnipeger. He makes me proud to be a Winnipeger. Next time he's back home I have to see him.
Yes, it was just an illusion of free choice, as Penn claims. Your assumption of no free choice is therefore absolutely correct. The supernatural does not exist, so there is only cleverness left and, thanks to cleverness, to create the supernatural illusion. A flat bottle (3cm) has its purpose. It can be well hidden not only in a small box behind the fabric pad at an angle, but can be "dropped" by a simple mechanism into a larger box with a piece of cloth when the small box was pulled out. Therefore the large box was immediately closed to serve casually as a table. Simply cleverness, cleverness, cleverness and great art of manipulation. If it were a card of free will, he would already have a trophy.
Think it's a gimmicked box that actually is able to put the card into the bottle by the swirl of the lock mechanism but could be way off, the thickness of the metal boxes could be evidence for it or a forced card.
So the 5 of hearts was forced. You can see that he hides the picked middle card with his right hand while the 5 of hearts was already flipped before handing it over to Penn. The real trick is how he did that little shake to make the 5 of hearts disappeared between the jokers. The locked boxes were gimmicks with hidden compartment.
I love how much Penn and Teller give their fellow magicians Such respect when they come on the show, even know they knew how he did it. They are very sweet and nice about it. They don't want to crush their dreams. Great performance. I seen Darcey on BGT and he was so good.
They know the method that's why he didn't fool them but if the card was signed then he would have an argument about it being in the bottle cox that would change the focus of the trick ...
Some Darcy trivia. His father is a well-known sports broadcaster in Canada (Scott Oake). Growing up in Winnipeg one of his best friends is Ryan Reaves who plays for the Vegas Golden Knights. Reaves would sometimes show up at the Oake household in a swimsuit and robe. "Just going for a soak in the hot tub folks!" Ryan would also make fun of Scott's fading hairline during interviews for "Hockey Night in Canada".
You know what makes me angry? That the guy who put a cookie into his mouth with handkerchief did fool them, but this guy with the amazing and professional trick did not.
Sergey Rudakov leave cookie man alone! i loved him 😂 it was so simple and dumb but how could you not appreciate it? then again darcy is a pro, would’ve liked to see him get some kinda reward here. still his life’s work after this got me thinkin he’s doing juuust fine so i wouldn’t worry too much abt him
One of the best tricks I've seen! I was almost disappointed that they figured it out, it was really magical
One of the best tricks I've seen on the show. Whether it fooled them or not. And even though I know how the main part is done, still incredible trick.
can you pls explain?
@@justsimplegamer right?
You can't teach others, that is why it's magic not science
This would've absolutely KILLED on AGT/BGT - but yet.. for Penn & Teller, it was just 'meh' . Shows just how smart these guys are !
He was on BGT.
but not with this act
Neon With a better act. Twice
unb jon BGT isn’t staged
I thought it was LGBT

Conjecture: the more the magician reassures you that you could've chosen any card, the more likely they are to have forced your choice.
he should've touched the boxes a lot more to at least give a chance that it somehow wasn't forced!
he left no other option but force
Even if it was forced, he could have told me that he's going to put the 5 of hearts in a bottle that is corked, inside 2 boxes that will both be locked shut, and I wouldn't understand how he did it.
I SAW HE PUTTING AN EMPTY BOTTLE IN THE BOX
@@LirouBraga
There's another bottle with a card in it already there.
@@AlexBesogonov The camera angle was looking directly into the box...

When he asked Teller not to look at the card, and then spread through the deck and showed Teller the card anyway....well, nothing fishy about that.
Penn and teller are always kind, even they didnt fool...great show and great performers, from both sides
This guy is a pro. Which means he uses the latest and most popular tricks. It’s like singing Billboards top 10 in auditions. Even if you are really good, you still hit “enjoyable” instead of “surprising”.
Great trick, love the presentation. Very fun to watch!
I watched the card disappear 10 times, frame by frame ,before I find that it is just magic.
Its science actually but sophisticated techniques are almost indistinguishable from magic
Interesting... 🤔
It's called cabbalah l
The best magician, illusionist nowadays He got a special stage presence
@@ReyTheGhost hahaha bro dont fool yourself, kabbalah is about spirituality, this is an illusion
What a likable guy and how daring to do it in Teller's lap!
It was a pleasure getting to see this live and meeting you in person in Windsor! You are such a class act Darcy. Thank you for being an inspiration for many up and comers to bring style and class to our shows.
Beautifully done!
Amazing performance
It's so great to see you there, Darcy!! Great performance!! :D

Sharp eye's tho i didn't notice that till i did read you're comment and re watch it again
Penn had chosen the 8 diamonds, he folded the card behind his back. The trick failed right there because the magician went to the 5 of hearts.
His 1st mistake was giving the box to Teller!!!
@Declan Washington yeah penn folded the 8 diamonds and put at the top to mark it to see which card he chosen. Haha but is good way to expose the trick. Its a cheap trick though, would been more impressive if he is allowed to sign on the card.
But he cut it into the middle. So it doesn't make sense that it was on top
What a great magic! You are just awesome.
Wowwwww big fan of urs Darcy

Amazing work!
It fooled ME 90 ways from Sunday. Well done!
Still pretty cool to watch! Thanks for sharing your clip!
Really difficult to fool these guys. But it's really amazing how he makes the card vanish and to appear inside the bottle.
It’s more difficult to fool Teller. Penn is not too difficult to fool. That’s why in most cases, if you fool Penn, you fooled Penn. but if you fool Teller, you fooled both Penn and Teller.
Darcey, Sorry about the loss of your brother. My sympathy and condolences. I lost my brother too 10 years ago.
Amazing!!!!

That was awesome
I don’t think I ever heard the audience gasp like that at the reveal. Class job bro!
we dunno whether its edited in or louder for more dramatic effect for tv audience. but most ppl r silent usually
I think the reveal rather was a ..... glass job.

My god I see the pain u have in loosing ur brother.. hugs.. I love my brother too much I know how u feel.. hugs 💞 n love God bless u
Okay, this is now one of my new favorite tricks on this show. Amazing

Not much come from Winnipeg then? Or Canada , come to that.
4:58 - Oh my goodness you did it right in Teller's lap lmao
I would rate this as one of the most baffling of all the Fool Us tricks. Just brilliant!
it's kind of easy tho. The flask deposited is another one that he one shown. Pick is not a free choice. Rest if just entertainement.
This is phenomenal! I realize there are some tricks involved, but I can't think of any possible when's and where's which I love in a magic trick!
Darcy loved your performances on Got Talent
Amazing
That was Great!
That was GREAT just the same! 👍
I’ve waiting for this dude since Britain’s got talent
Great trick Darcy! I just love it!
Darcy impresses me every time i see him do a magic trick like these
Great Job Darcy.
Awesome trick ❤️
That was dope
Its just super cool :)
I think Alyson is crushing :D. She's lighting up talking to him and even grabs his arm at one point.
Man, I was clapping from my office computer!
Perhaps the card was not a free choice... but still.
Hahahahahaha you made me laugh!
Yes I noticed that, so had it not been a free choice the performer would have demanded for the trophy.
Yes, it was just an illusion of free choice, as Penn claims. Your assumption of no free choice is therefore absolutely correct. best speaker magician 👍💥
Amazing trick man, well done
Fantástico
Amazing trick!
Dracy is a real pro!! He deserves a show of his own
You are a legend brother wow
I have been watching so many of these things. This is the first one I really want to learn how to do . I is a beyond amazing.
Think it's a gimmicked box that actually is able to put the card into the bottle by the swirl of the lock mechanism but could be way off, the thickness of the metal boxes could be evidence for it or a forced card.
This was really put together nicely. :)
3:19 the old man in red at the back is sleeping lol
I love your magic very much
"How long have you been into magic?" DID YOU NOT LISTEN TO HIS OPENING STORY?
Sam Hagene - she wasn't thinking about what she was saying, she was too busy just looking at him!! Smitten!
She can't hide her feeling, that's her weakness.
the question is for the benefit of those on youtube who skip the intro 😛
IIRC the introduction videos aren't all shown during the live show. So yeah, it could've been impossible for her to listen to it.
This guy is one 1⃣ of the greatest if not the best.
I like your magic from talent show
I saw darcy perform this trick during a magic show, absolutely amazing
Darcy oakes-If only that card was not in the bottle I would have completed my solitare game😂😂
Well done Darcy despite the fact Penn & Teller figured it out. Thanks for representing Winnipeg well :-)
Wonderful execution anyway!
that is 1 of the best tricks I've seen
I like the sound when he open and close the box
More video plz broooo..
Check him out on BGT. I loved his illusion tricks he did on that show.
I remember Darcy Oake's jaw-dropping dove illusions from bgt. Found this in recommendations and clicked it right away.
It's amazing :0
If he could have signed the card and had it inside the bottle then he would have fooled them lol
And that wouldn't be magic. That would be some dark voodoo shit. 👍
The fact that it wasn't signed gives away the force.
King Robert still a peng trick
Obviously it's a different card.
I don't believe they know how that was done
And she was nervous😉😉.. who wouldn't be??😍😍
That was pretty freaking crazy!
that was bad ass!
an awesome trick
Excellent. I was totally fooled
this was one of the best ever i had no clue how u did it!! surprised they knew it they say if they did..
Penn read about this trick in a book of Robert Harbin's. He mentioned it at the end of the video.
Imagine if penn flipped the 5 of hearts when he put the deck behind his back 😂
Darcy❤️🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
U r awsmm
I love how Penn and Teller convey they know the secret without actually telling it
Yes in frame 4, 19 the top card look thicker and its white edge is wider than the bottom one,,, magnetic,,,
Gonads of steel doing that right under Teller's burn. Not even a slight shake of nerves or anything. Damn man! Nice work!
First time Alison got Nervous standing beside a magician 😍😘feeling love
I love how much Penn and Teller give their fellow magicians Such respect when they come on the show, even know they knew how he did it. They are very sweet and nice about it. They don't want to crush their dreams. Great performance. I seen Darcey on BGT and he was so good.
Great trick
Liked it very much! I do not want to know how you did it, because it was beautiful!
Dudeeee she was definitely feeling more than just your magic lol. The little arm touch at the end for NOOO reason 🤷🏼♂️🤪
I think you're looking into it too much.
May the soul of your brother rest in peace, God bless
nice 1 dude
Gosh that was such a neat trick and a great performance. I think they should have let him do the vegas thing even if he didn’t fool them
Great magician
Darcy Oake is a cool guy.... i really like him....
They know the method that's why he didn't fool them but if the card was signed then he would have an argument about it being in the bottle cox that would change the focus of the trick ...
Alyson, you're super addition to Penn and Teller... and pretty too. oldster74 here... Michigan.

I first saw Darcy on AGT. The dude is amazing
He's been on BGT too. Check him out. He's great. Very good slight of hand. His dove trick is out of this world
He didn't "fool" them but he did "trick" them.🇦🇺🍺
You know what makes me angry? That the guy who put a cookie into his mouth with handkerchief did fool them, but this guy with the amazing and professional trick did not.
Its not about how cool the trick is, its about whether penn and teller know how its done. Idiot

then again darcy is a pro, would’ve liked to see him get some kinda reward here. still his life’s work after this got me thinkin he’s doing juuust fine so i wouldn’t worry too much abt him
it's obviously a forced card. the card will always be the 5. always.
@@jorrgfromage9929 unless of course, Darcy wants to force another card on them 😉
The cookie was in the napkin at the end when he pretended to clean whipe his lips but they did not pay attention i guess
