At first glance, the Wabigoon River appears like any other river in Northwestern Ontario. The tannin-colored water alternates between turbulent rapids with powerful hydraulics and large flat pools, offset by the rich verdant hues of boreal forest. But beneath the beauty of the Wabigoon is a toxic history, one that has poisoned three generations of First Nations people.
Life Downstream is a poignant reminder that every river has a deeper story than the waves and eddies that shape its surface.
