There is peak for everyone. Magnus is several meters above that peak and Nakamura will never get there. It Is not about how hard you try. Both players study the game all of their life. Even though Nakamura is a genius, Magnus is simply a little better. Probably has some more IQ points. And a little at this lvl it is what makes the difference on the long run.
