      Well, I doubt Magnus can beat the engine I use, (By gametop free download, "Grand Master Chess 3", never seen any of you guys play it either), so big deal.
      I bet it beats you 4 out of the first 5 games you play it on the "easy adult" level. Wanna bet me some money and show me how good you are? That is a challenge for all the YT experts. None of you are good enough to beat it. Go pick on some kids from the special Olympics.

      Eric, what I know about chess... a5 only helped him to play his game.... Queenside is not the right place, where you should play. Center (control e4) and kingside play (f7-f5-f4) seems to be much more logical plan.

      That is impossible. Even computers will never be able to calculate all possible moves, simply because there is not enough time and space available. The total number of possible chess games is estimated to be 10^140 (the so called Shannon number). Compare that to the number of estimated atoms in the universe, which is 10^80, and you might understand why.

      Magnus won thanks of small details. I think Eric's biggest positional mistake was not to unpin his knight. When he played Rh7 I think that Rf7 was slightly better. The Knight moved just once in the entire game and never reached f6 or f8. If Eric had played Rh7 followed by Nf8 and Ne6 the power of Magnus' bishop would have been seriously crippled and maybe he could have handled the draw.
      Of course after f6, which basically invited Magnus inside his castle, it was game over.

Anyways, as I guy that's played Magnus and MVL (the only superGMs I've played), Magnus is truly different. What that guy said was present in a lot of GMs, but Magnus takes that and magnifies it. He has bruteforce calculation skills. If people could calculate as fast and as accurately as him, they'd still have to face the fact that he hardly blunders positionally. I held my own against MVL before losing in the endgame. Magnus had me running circles around the middle game. Eric chose more of a solid opening and I played a more open sideline of the Modern.

    I know Eric is a good player, and just kind of figured that GM's were like even gooder players. But watching Magnus play multiple games at once, it's like a whole new level of Chess skill. I'm with some of the others here, just getting Magnus to have to think about a move is a pretty good achievement!

  • @DeJay7

    What Magnus does is fascinating, he plays such moves such that he always forces something from his opponent, and every small inaccuracy, which usually doesn't matter, might add up to a decisive advantage for Magnus because he will never risk anything, he'll just keep forcing and forcing, it's a slow, painful death, or in this case, checkmate.

      Well, there was no mate in this game. The winning factor was Magnus being able to establish a better position before Eric had the chance to. As soon as he stuck that Biship there, everything was pretty much over.

    • @DeJay7
      @DeJay7 Před rokem +3

      The people saying there was no checkmate, wow you're ridiculous. In this case, as usually happens, Eric resigned against Magnus. That's because Eric knew Magnus would eventually checkmate him, he was losing which means slowly he would be checkmated.
