the ending was basically a Lucena position, right? So check the king away, put your king in front of the pawn, then move the rook to the 4th rank. Am I missing something?

Damn, this might sound trivial, but this GM was an absolute monster. At first I was like "Meh, this opening is kinda boring, is this guy trying to dry out the game or what ?" and then proceeded to find those absolutely insane attack ideas and cool checkmate patterns from what seemed a drawish position. Crazy how bad I am compared to those people.

I am unclear why black Ng4 is a viable threat to white. you say it's hard for white to stop Kg4 but that square is so well defended, by the h pawn, and by the bishop queen battery

I know you're an IM and I'm no where near that, yet, have you ever looked into the Morphy Gambit vs the Philidor? There doesn't seem to be a ton out here on youtube after exd4 Bc4 the computer still says white maintains their starting advantage, +0.3 the full gambit useually involves going for c3 dxc3 then Qb3. IDK i guess it might be nice to see more info on it.

I had a match yesterday where the enemy had mate in 1 which I could only delay through pointless checks but those confused him enough so that his last second ran out and I won :D

What is this thing, beeing late for the games. Is this by purpose? Some tactics or are pro-chess players not good in timemanagement? I saw this now in a few of yours, but also other chessplayers videos. When I play chesstournament (very low level), I am at least 15 minutes before start there. Levy said, that he was late to a game also in Madrid, because the Barista took so long, but I cannot imagine, this happens that often XD

I can't imagine how exhausting it must be to play an 80 move game against a GM and then come back to the room to do analysis followed by another game 90 minutes later. Kudos. I once played a 4 hour game at a tournament and as soon as I played the last move had to set up for the next game. I was so tired I lost almost immediately.

I want to thank you for the free month at ChessMood. I've only had time for one class, section by section, but I've learned a lot and I believe my play has improved markedly.
