#chess #ericrosen - Hry
The second game conversion from a positional advantage into a totally winning endgame is deeply impressive imo. Rosen's opponent didn't know what hit him until it was too late.
A perfect example of why not to trade when you’re attacking.
@@MyBiPolarBearMax To me it shows the difference between an 1800 player (and 1800 players are no mugs) and an IM. The difference in positional understanding is huge.
I thought for sure that black's DSB will become a problem in the endgame. Turns out the knight and the advanced pawns make up for it
@@rumaulia2709 White's Knight is out of the game, white's Bishop is bad. Rosen knew instinctively that the way to win was to push the Queenside pawns (once you've got one side of the board locked down attack the other side). Easy to say in theory, not so easy to execute in practice especially when you have less than three minutes on the board. I'm deeply impressed by it.
I came straight to the comments after that game to say how beautiful and swift that conversion happened!
I love this series so much
Well maybe you should marry it then…
Oh no my afternoon!
And he sacrifices, the sleep!!
LOL
“Sorry babe, gotta dip. Rosen just uploaded”
If she doesn't like Rosen, the decision is chosen.
@@Crvisometimes you gotta sac the queen
@@acidic.sydney Ok dude 😆
@@acidic.sydneyof course! the king is worth more, after all
Cool story bro
I really enjoyed that last one with Eric’s recognition of the mating nets. That’s an important concept I can benefit from.
That checkmate was so impressive, if that was a puzzle i'd be taking a good few minutes to figure out the mate but he just saw it immediately.
Thank you for being the Bob Ross of chess!
Haha he totally is
All of these opponents playing blitz in a rapid game. I hate it so much, but it also satisfies me if they lose.
I don't get it at all. Why play rapid if you aren't interested in thinking? It just gives your opponent an advantage.
People just wanna keep a buffer for king and pawns endgames. They often have the most subtle blunders, with the least amount of time to think them through
Of course it's not worth it if you just blunder at the start of the mid game instead
@@EpicEstimator Because most people at this rating have a hard time converting a one pawn advantage. It's in general better to lose one pawn for 3 or 4 minutes of clock
Please consider doing recaps of the event. I highly enjoy your recaps on high level chess!
I plan to!
Eric's game review on this account:
This is the Start Game opening. You've played this opening 165 times, with a 100% winrate
Erics natural tactical chess ability barely exceeds an amateur player. Where he does excel is in memorizing, with the aid of engines, openings where the refutation is obscure. Get him out of opening theiry and he is mediocre.
@@chullupaHave you watched the IM not a GM tournaments? Eric is a better calculator than many titled players, let alone amateurs. His prep is quite good, you could call it more developed than his calculation, but like, why lol.
@@chullupa half of his content is him improvising a dubious gambit and finding "funny lines" that bail him out
@@chullupa I'm sure you're a GM then, seeing as you find a strong IM to be mediocre. Congrats on your successful chess career! Not many people are so lucky.
Just a reminder: don't feed the trolls. Someone calling Eric Rosen mediocre is absolutely a troll.
totally addicted to this series. thank you, man!
you're under 1500 aren't you?
Not something you see every day: black pinned from behind 😱
reminds me of the summer of Floyd
Hahaha
He was brutally mated from behind.
Thank u so much for the free courses i appreciate your efforts
The only 40 minute video that feels like 5
You can just pre record all the episodes and schedule their release so we dont run out of videos while you travel
That last checkmate was so beautiful to me
You are Bob Ross of the chess, so calm and cool.
Best instructional content going.
U must be under 1500
Best series
THanks for the free course eric :)
I am loving these ones !
Best show on the Internet!!! Have been enjoying it for quite a while now. Thanks a ton, Eric!
The courses of chessmood have really good quality.
That 3rd game !!! Brilliant !
Well played Eric. Loving your series since the start. Very educational. Thank you for this 😊❤
Both very high-quality games on your part -- especially the interesting mate in Game #2. Nice work!
Thank you for your work Eric. A calm and professional approach very much appreciated
Hello Eric let's goooo another episode thank you for this series i love it
Thank you for the nice offensive ideas!Nice games too, especially the last game.
That 3rd game checkmate is Nasty!
Thank you Eric for your hard work and dedication. Love your content!
I always shout "YES" when Eric uploads a new episode.
i jsut wrote a comment like that a minute ago and now read other 15 comments :)
Learnt a lot Thanks Eric.
Love these
I've been using Chess mood and it's so great
Love this series, looking forward to when you break 2000 and the games get more challenging
Dawg you gotta help me break this losing streak
Beautiful games man
This series is my life fuel.
Wow that last check mate was beautiful
2 weeks without a new speed run video and I'm starting to itch.
Thanks Eric!
new setup is lookin proper crispy dude
The mating nets at the end were so cool
nice checkmate in the second game !!
Great games!
Would love to see you play the Scotch Gambit. It's one of my favorite lines and I never see anyone as skilled as you play it.
Cheers and thanks for all the awesome content.
Backshots from the bishop is not what I expected in a Rosen upload
thank you sir!
Welcome to Spain , Let´s go Eric!
I've watched every episode of this series. During that time, my ratings points on the two main chess websites have increased by more than 100 points in blitz. I don't think the two things are unconnected! Thanks, Eric; I look forward to more whenever you can post them.
PS. There are problems with your merch store for me, here in the UK. The links work, but the site doesn't load properly.
wow brilliant mate at the end --- how did you see that backdoor pin? -- I'm quitting chess for good.
2nd game conversion is too good and winning ❤️
I enjoyed the episode. No questions.
Dude I get jacked when I see an episode you're the best
You jacked off
I like your style of chess
Finally! I got so bored I restarted the series 😂
“Not a mating concept you see everyday “ well maybe if you dropped episodes everyday we would.
Yay free stuff!
This episode was especially helpful to me, as the last two games feature openings I play a lot. But you showed me variations I can play in the early going, that improve my chances and maybe get my opponent into his discomfort zone. Thanks twice -- once for the entertainment, and once for the instruction.
the mate in the last game was intense!
Very good episode once again thanks! Could you please play the Hungarian Opening the next time? Thanks! 👍👍👍
oh man the backwards bishop pin in the last game was beautiful
5:50 Nf5 is clearly a good move. Much better than f5 or Nh5. It threatens multiple royal forks while also giving another attacker to a pawn, and threatening a good bishop too
The backwards pin to end game 3 was craaaazy
After 53 episodes the only complaint that i have is... the videos aren't long enough D:
Some romantic chess today! Great games!
Thanks ! I love so much the games ! Also at 5:51 on the first game, an even stronger move was Nf5! Instead of Nh5. If Qxe6 Nxg7+ winning the queen, and Nf5 will be followed by Nxg7+ de castling the king anyway, but threatens also Nxd6. So many threats with this move ! I was not sure it worked but computer confirms.
nice
Your voice sounds much better today
Hope chess, now that’s a Chessable course I can get behind!
Perfect for breakfast!
Good luck :)))
When will you have your tournament
Lets gooo eric
Random question. What size do you make the board while playing?
What is the rating goal for this speedrun? When does it end?
This video opens with 162 wins, the equivalent of a full baseball season
How dare you move the queen side knight 3x in a row Eric! 😂
Oh no my boss!
In game 1, move 9 (after Bxc6), I was thinking about Ne5. That would return the favor of splitting up the bishop pair. Instead, Eric went with 9.d3 Bd6 10.Ng5, which really surprised me. I don't think that makes sense. After 10... h6 11.Qh5 g6 12.Qh3 Qf6, and the position looks very good for black. Black played 10... Qc7 instead, which didn't do as much good for him/her. (Now I see that he got to that in the post-game review.)
In game 3, instead of Nd5 (at just under 5:40 left on Eric's clock), I think Bd3 was the better move, and after Re8, play Qg3. 0-0-0 at the first opportunity, creating a discovered attack threat that black will have to deal with.
Very good video. I'm gonna use this and lose a lot of ELO
Hewwo can you show da chiropractor variation
Game#3 "Oh...OOP! Wait a minute. It's not checkmate." 🤣🤣🤣
My man caught it just in time.
EDIT: I get that it was still forced mate and the move was ultimately the correct one but Eric wasn't sure of that in the moment and so took his time to double check. The whole sequence was amusing and instructional at the same time which is why I love this series.
black pinned from behind :O
Is the chessmood thing any good? Any one done that yet?
Is an x-ray pin mate a pâté ?
Slowest speedrun on record approaches new limit
I could very easily be missing something, but why not knight f5 at 6:10?
very nice video
but the opponents should definitely start using more time and stop blitzing out almost every move and probaply wonder why they lost
I’m about to go into a meeting, dammit. Haha.
❤
you're creeping up to my rating, is there anywhere where you anounce where you're playing for the series so i might get a chance of playing against you?
34:30 this mate was incredible with your bishop pinning black's pawn on B5- and then taking the other pawn with the rook... just WOW congrats!!! I watch a lot of Kramnik games and I see many IM and FM beating him...I think you would beat him 9 times out of 10, you should go for the GM title someday
"Black pinned from behind" 👀
You miss 6:12 Nf5 Rosen I saw it when you play Nxe6.
And he has to play Bf8 the you cn take g7 with your e6 knight n d6 square fork queen n king
If at 6:11 he goes Nf5 like you say-- then black could play a lot of things like Bc7 or Qd7 or Bb8- all 3 moves cancel any fork. and leave at least Eric's knight on e6 hanging
@@catac83 after ...g6 there would be Nxd6 with a royal fork
But then knight takes biskop with check winning the queen
@@catac83 what about g7 pawn is not hanging or you miss something
@@catac83 bro both knight supported each other and he play Bb8 or Bc7 ....it's runs into ..Nxg7+
You must be a low rated chess player that's why you arguing with me without analysing whole variation
@6:04 Why not Nf5 threat to Bishop?
Please play next time Quinns gambit
I wish he would play the Scandinavian, mieses kotrc lines more. Or the scorch Schmidt.
Italians and french are just boring to play with. 😅
🔥 x3
You missed knightc c7 in the first game at min 6:29
Yes! No parades!
