- We've made it to Siena! This is our first time in this region of Italy and this is our experience in Siena Tuscany. Today we roam the streets of Siena, hang around the Piazza Del Campo, get blown away by the Duomo di Siena (Siena Cathedral), have gelato for the first time in Italy, and eat Italian pizza with amazing Siena views. Simply out of this world. A truly romantic and stunning Tuscan town.

Today’s cathedral was planned to become only the transept of a new, much bigger church. Unfortunately due the devastating plague of 1348 the project was stopped. The unfinished parts that you noticed come from this.
