Based on your very good and informational review, I purchased this meter. I'm very satisfied with it. It truly is small and amazing. Thanks for the efforts you made in this review.
WOW!!! A huge review for a fantastic tiny meter, thanks.
Thank you Michael!
I definitely would love to put this on my Fuji GW690III and RZ. Thanks for sharing your experiences with this light meter.
Its a great small lightmeter, i use it and enjoy it a lot.
I don't normally meter, never have, but 1 year later, just to try it out I just purchased one! I'm excited to see if I'm as happy with it as I think I will be. And if it makes me want to meter rather then just go go go for it. I believe I'll meter for certain scenes and not for most of what I shoot, but it will be fun to use, thanks for the great review!
Nice. Just got my hands on a M3 and was looking for something like this.
can't wait to get mine !
Same here, very excited! So small and convenient to add to cameras.
Great! Thank you
Such a nice little size and all, will probably pick one up!
Its really fun and helpful so far.
Would love to see a review of your Rollei 6008 at some stage. Super cool cameras but barely any info out there about them!
Great review of a really nice little product. Would be perfect with a meter less rangefinder
excellent informative tutorial... thank you....
Thanks, its an awesome little lightmeter.
The "specific 3d printing system" (SLS) also builds objects in layers. The difference is - the rough texture hides them. This, combined with the fact they most probably used nylon powder as the material, contributes to the feeling of "robustness" as well.
the meter is nice and all but hey, those are some great photos! you're shooting style really works well with color I think :)
Subbed, love your channel. No one seems to mention if it can meter for studio strobes / flash. I'm very curious about buying it.
Thanks! This meter wont work with strobes as its only reflective and doesnt have the option for pc sync or flash on it. So its a small meter to walk around with.
Is that a lightmeter in your pocket or are you just happy to see me? Oh wait.
It had to be done!
Well, talking about the ring... I own an Olympus OM-1 with a dead meter and I don't like the "chimney stack" shoe (at the same time, I totally love the look and feel of the OM-1 without it), so... yeah I can see myself using it!
Ev value is great for old minolta rangefinders too
It's possible to waterproof a circuit board by coating it with a spray on material. Maybe a waterproof version will eventually be made for a couple of extra euros/dollars.
While I really like the idea of this light meter and it's form factor, i feel that putting the oled screen where the buttons are would have made more sense. Not a deal breaker though. I'm ordering one either way.
I get what you mean, to me its ok on medium format cameras, but on normal slr or rangefinders it would have been useful.
Back in the day my dad had the tiny little sixtino light meter (I guess Gossen's) but sadly after some 10 years of use it died due to selenium cell...
I just had to return mine since I was quite dissapointed how poorly it was performing in cold weather.
Since Denmark has pretty cold weather for few months of a year, this lightmeter will not turn on during this time.
And to have light meter that works 6months of the year is not a good idea.
I think it's pitty that no one discusses this issue online.
Sorry to hear, I didn't test it in the cold weather, have you talked to the maker? He is based in Canada and the cold there is also very present.
Do they sell the ring thing without the lightmeter? :) It would be useful for my Voigtlander VCII when I take the Rolleicord...
He does, its an accessory at the site.
@@NicosPhotographyShow Cool! I'll go and see. Thanks for your answer!
I really want one! I getting a bit fed up with using an app all the time. Any idea when they'll be shipping if you pre-order?
I was just checking their website wondering the same thing, and it looks like September!
He is making them as we chat, update is he is already shippng orders. So I would jump sooner than later (not affiliated).
@@NicosPhotographyShow Ok, thanks!
@@elihaislip5673 Thanks!
Nice!
Thanks!
How does it meter? Spot perhaps?
Reflective reading.
Hola Nico!! Dormiste bien, funciona con la Nikon FM y donde lo puedo conseguir? Vivo en Suecia. Cuanto cuesta? O so online? Me gustan mucho tus programas y vídeos!!!!!! Que tengas un lindo día! Espero tu respuesta.....
Hola Alejandro, mira esta version en castellano a ver si te ayuda con las dudas. czcams.com/video/HSazwHMTtdw/video.html
What do you prefer, this or vc meter?
I quite like the Reveni better, basicly its smaller, gives me an exact reading and I dont need to twist wheels to get a green light. Also price is 50% and the accessories (you have to buy them are nice and affordable)
Wonder how it rivals a V201X
I want to test it, for now I like the idea that this lightmeter actually complies with FCC regulations.
want to get one of those but seens they are sold out ! anyone selling one ?
He had to update the stock, they are back!
@@NicosPhotographyShow cool do you have any discount code ? heeh sorry for that 1 we never know
The lack of dials is a NEGATIVE not a positive. The Voigtlander VCII is so wonderful not only due to it's diminutive size but because it is tactile - it is so much more in keeping with the reason people go analogue because they WANT to turn those dials. And, 11+ minutes - ELEVEN+ MINUTES - to review a very basic light meter? This should be a 3 minute review, max. Sorry, but less is so much more.
The youtube game asks for longer videos, sorry. Less is less here.
They're different products with different selling points, if you want dials and tactility then you can just buy the Voigtländer meter, if you want a smaller, cheaper unit that does the same function then here's another option. Nobody's making you buy this or watch the full 12 minutes, I personally appreciated the longer video for the increased detail it allowed and would rather have a smaller meter without dials. Everyone has an opinion, yours isn't the end all be all to be taken as gospel. Martin.
Would jump on this if it had spot metering. Of course would be a different, larger animal. Reflective is ok when you’re really close to what you want to photograph and in a few more situations/conditions, but otherwise for my type of photography (landscape) it can never replace a spot meter.
The real question is, given lightmeter and other apps, is this gadget really necessary?
I use my phone as a light meter because none of my cameras have working/accurate or no light meter. Sometimes it’s a little annoying pulling my phone out of my pocket, unlocking my phone, and opening the app to get a reading. I think a hot shoe meter like this would be nice to have.
@@imnottellingyoumynamedude 100%
maybe if you can get closer to your subject with that meter, you could use it as a spot meter, in a sense...
that's how i 'spot metered' using my Nikon FE2. I came close to my subject with the camera...i locked the exposure using the lever and went back to my original spot.
not so much fun, yet, do-able...
So I suppose in a Latin and English word mix to make a new word, the brand name means: I came ...again - :)
Some times one has to innovate!
There are some great lightmeter apps for smart phones that do a really good job, and most of them are free. And who doesn't have a phone in their pockets?
I agree phone lightmeters have gotten really good, I honestly like the idea of a separate device dedicated to one thing. But one cant beat "free".
Nicos Photography Show My OM1 lightmeter doesn’t work anymore so I just use a phone app to get a general reading then adjust by eye after that. I do have a few old lightmeters as well as a couple of Sekonic ones but tend to only use them with my 120 cameras.
just get to the point...man so long winded.
Thanks!
Take your DSLR with you and use it as a light meter. It is free ... (I must be a genius)
Your DSLR was free? Man, you got lucky...
@@NicosPhotographyShow If someone goes into analog photography he must be already a good digital photographer. And I never saw a good photographer not owning a camera.
I think the point of this device is to be light and small...I guess you missed it
I don't really want to lug around my DSLR when I go on a shoot
yeah, that's exactly what I'm looking for. Not to carry just a bulky camera but a bulky camera plus a digital camera too! Yeah, you're obviously genius.
