It's so inconvenient when people don't have reviews of specific hardware I'm interesting in. I'm considering to get this laptop ever since the new 10th gen Comet Lake CPU was added to it and it's been on my radar for quite a while but all the reviews are other just the older CPU models. You even got it at same configuration I was looking at with 16GB RAM and 1tb SSD! Thanks a lot for making this video.

Thanks for your nice comment! I was disheartened at the lack of interest in this laptop. I am a big fan of 2-1 laptops but I think many of my audience are more into gaming notebooks.
I will do a CPU comparison video and a GPU video showing how it plays games PLUS tweaks to get best performance out of it.

    • @OWNORDISOWN
      @OWNORDISOWN  Před 4 lety +2

From what I can tell the Spectre can be configured all the way up to a 45w six core CPU and GTX 1650 . You can still get the Comet lake / MX 250 like in my Envy , but to be honest the performance of that CPU is poor - I would advise getting the 8th gen one if you want a 15w CPU. The Spectre also has a larger 84w battery versus the 57wh on mine. I get 7.5 hours on mine so with same hardware you should get at least 10 hours on the Spectre

Hi Mate, do you know IF or WHEN these ENVY's with Comet Lake will be available in the UK?
I 've had my eye on the HP ENVY x360 15-dr0033na on HP UK website but it has Intel 8 series chips. The reason I have been looking at this is because it has an OLED screen and it's about £1,380 after discounts.
But I don't see the point of getting this when the newer model is out already for US customers!
I was hoping they had some sort of international shipping so maybe I can order from HP US Store and get delivered to me in UK but don't think it's possible, the website's is not recognizing UK postcodes
I asked HP UK Store pre-sales if they will update there model with newer refresh but they said No.
    Any advice would be great!
    Thanks.

Well they dont expect you to upgrade every year just for a slight boost, but yeah the cpu should be improving every year. Its up to you to decide if its worth the money for the upgrade. I checked this: www.pugetsystems.com/recommended/Recommended-Systems-for-Autodesk-AutoCAD-134/Hardware-Recommendations
A system with a fast CPU seems to be most preferable,.
The 10875h in the Mech 15 G3 was one of the fastest Intel ones I have tested.
      amzn.to/3l7IE37
      Review: czcams.com/video/nDYx3phPsNY/video.html
The MAX 17 uses the same CPU and power limits:
      amzn.to/32oNBvX
I have one to review, performance will be the same as the Mech 15 but with a 17" Screen.
The RP17 has the fastest AMD 4800H CPU, faster than even the i9 10980hk and ist cheaper.
      Here is my review:
      czcams.com/video/bm7beYM1_sM/video.html
      Buy here: amzn.to/3aJvrsl
Alternatively you can get one with a quadro GPU like the MSI WF65/WF75

to be frank, this product is not that good
the pen input suck, cant draw well with it,difficult to take note ......
if i would pick a light device that has pen input,i would prefer to buy an ipad pro rather than this
    everyone has its preference
    great video btw

Thanks, I must admit the Apple Pencil works well although you cant beat the full blown version of OneNote for business visit preparation. I found the pen input on this to be as good as any other windows ink device. Better than the Asus Zen book flip 14 that had bad lag. I'm not an artist so cannot comment on that, I'm more of a note taker

@@adberin276 my Clevo is supported by Prema so he writes a BIOS for me. This allowed me to upgrade from the 8700k to the 9700k and perhaps he might be able to do the same when the 10 core comes out. It's very easy to work on and if I wish I could put in a second GTX 1080 but I dont want two power bricks. The CLEVO P870TM was also upgraded to the 2080 and Hidevolution would have upgraded it for me buy it's not worth it. My initial test showed it was only 10% behind the 2080. I still have to review it.
I might wait till I get the Area 51m to do that comparison. My setup costs much less than the Area 51m . Its very solidly built, it has two ethernet ports, 2 TB3 ports, 2 DP, on board DAC and a QHD Gsync display. I also have a custom Ownordisown boot logo.

Love your reviews! Short and thorough. Performance in Cinebench 20 does not seem too much comparing to i7-8550. Did you try to undervolt the i7-10510? Any chance of doing Cinebench 15 so it could be directly compared to Asus Flip 14 czcams.com/video/bH_-sUR9ym0/video.html ?

I'm interested in this Dell XPS 13.3 laptop. Model: XPS7390-7602SLV-PCA. Intel Core i7-10710U, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, 13.3-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) InfinityEdge display, and Wireless 6 support. What do you think?
    www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/dell-xps-13-3-laptop-platinum-silver-intel-core-i7-10710u-512gb-ssd-16gb-ram-windows-10/14209045
It has the best CPU model in the 10th Gen lineup (Core i7-10710U), so would you say that pretty much makes it the best Intel CPU currently available for laptops?
I'll be using this mainly for Photoshop and some gaming (Cities: Skylines, which is more CPU than GPU intensive due to processing power required for all the sims in the population). My main concern is the lack of dedicated GPU when working in Photoshop.
What do you think about the integrated Intel GPU?
Graphics Card: *Intel UHD Graphics; shared graphics memory*
    Configuration: *Integrated*
Dedicated Video Memory Size: *0 MB*
