When I heard about this I got a little excited...until I heard you needed to actually own a PS5. If they go along with this idea, their greed is going to cost them. They should just come out with another PSP, integrate an OPTIONAL feature where you can connect it to your PS5, and make it backwards capable.
It is actually just a phone attachment to where you can get PS five side controllers for your phone so when you connect your phone to your PlayStation, you can Mobley play from there.
It could be useful for kids whose families watch the tv a lot, basically acting as a Wii U game pad. But we can already do that with our phones/ tablets/ etc. with remote play so I don’t see the “handheld” being useful especially if it’s probably going to be priced at $200-$300
One key incorrect thing said here: The PS Portal is not a cloud streaming device. It is a remote play device and as of now it will not support cloud streaming. That may be a feature later. Also, it is a PS5 accessory. Not sure why anyone would complain if they can't get it to do something not for a PS5.
What’s the point of a handheld if it’s cloud only, with a handheld you’re going to be traveling and playing and when you have no network you can’t play. Or you might be living at a hotel with slow wifi that can barely handle cloud gaming. If you download the ps4 app you can already play cloud gaming if you have a controller attatched.

Why Wifi is a staple in our age today, even on a console its required to play online games. So if youre wifi sucks even on a console you'll lag and lose picture quality until it stables out. My brother and I share a PS5, this might actually work good for us because we live in different areas. Seems kinda cool for that type of use case ..But why? I am I hate software as a service, etc. but they at least make sense from a business point of view but not this. I would cancel it to avoid having the PS5 turn into the next Dreamcast in a world where MS is dominating everything.

I think we need a new device. Yeah that’s going to be able to be compatible with a PS five when it comes to RemotePlay, but also give us something new like it’s own library of games and a fordable storage option and a good screen and resolution I also think it should have a dock option so you could play the exclusive games that it has and Bluetooth compatibility with PS five controllers I just don’t think we need a strictly cloud gaming device. If they’re going to make a handheld they should give us something new.

Yeah that’s going to be able to be compatible with a PS five when it comes to RemotePlay, but also give us something new like it’s own library of games and a fordable storage option and a good screen and resolution I also think it should have a dock option so you could play the exclusive games that it has and Bluetooth compatibility with PS five controllers I just don’t think we need a strictly cloud gaming device. If they’re going to make a handheld they should give us something new.
