"....and the wand is going to stay in my hand" * immediately tucks wand under armpit * 🤣
Hahaha I noticed that one too! 😂😂😂
I thought the same exact thing lmfao
I thought that was a good joke and foreshadowing. The whole trick was like a comedy routine. He lied unnecessarily and made more obvious sleight of hand moves than he actually used. Then, when he lies about the tap and take, he follows by pointing out that he "pretends" to put the dice that aren't there in his pocket. But he didn't "pretend" to put them in his pocket before! He is explaining nothing. He is literally just calling attention to the next load just before he reveals nothing. "Hey, look! My hand is in my pocket, but instead of watching that hand, you're going to look over here where I am telling the truth."
Right
That was a nice touch!
I love what I just noticed.....
While revealing the final big dice, the dice was actually hollow and open from the bottom. But at 5:04 he replaced that die with a solid one. He did a trick after the performance was over!! And hence he finally banged the bottom two die at the end after Penn told him that he didn't fool them. This was just to pull Penn and Teller's leg because they clearly must not have noticed him switching the last dice. That's pure genuis!
i saw that 2
Yep, saw that - and loved it. That, to me, was the real "fooled you" moment 🤣🤣
Great eye! Loved this routine
Omg love it!!!
I had thought it was hollow at the first reveal but never expected the switch after it was over. During deliberations they looked like they were the same size so that threw me off and the clank together was even another layer to it that I had to watch it again because the initial reveal, if it was a solid die, was flawless and mind blowing. Never did I expect him to swap it as they left the table. 😍
I love how this involved a lot of "bad" sleight of hand to throw off magicians. Levels of trickery
I am not so sure. I think it’s some bad palming because I kept catching them and outcome was as expected.
@@LiamDilley It was all prep for the finale.
@@LiamDilley umm no, you saw what he wanted you to see
@@BearDownCats82 Yeah, they were so "bad" even I caught some of it. I immediately thought "wait a minute" 😂
@@mpr746 Yes! The narrowed eyes that Teller gave him at one point was him thinking the same thing. Ha!
Whether or not he fool's Penn and Teller, he's always a class act, with absolutely fantastic magic!!
Gertner's great. But where did the pony tail come from? Was it always there and I never noticed before?
@@twatmunro9563 I think it's new, it wasn't there in his previous appearances.
He is great!
@@jeremybutler1087 Except for making moves after his act is done. Seems shadier than classy
He didn't fool me either, but he did it very well, I watched several times to see what he was actually doing.
Paul is arguabley the bravest of any contestant. He always does the real classic stuff that he knows they will know and thus has to push himself to make it even better. It must be so wonderful for them to see somebody so good at doing all of that stuff. Especially bring given that compliment. Loved the fact he began to play with their kids a little to sucker them in. Big ups paul!
His wife be like: DAMN, this will never end.
Gotta go best of 7, yes?
Always love watching your videos. Love the enthusiasm, humility, and humor!
Penn & Teller in 6.
Paul is a returning character now. It just wouldn't be the same show without him. I expect many more returns.
The biggest trick is transferring Penn's ponytail slowly over the years to the back of magician's head and making it grey.
Such an excellent peformance. He just draws us in. There is no overcomplicated stuff. Simple yet amazing.
Neeraj: The coordinating of the technical touches and the tie-ins with the script were anything but simple. Smooth maybe but not simple.
I met this gentleman in 1975. I was 15 years old. I saw him do his version of the cups n balls with large steel bearings. It was in Tonawanda NY, at EMI MAGIC, operated by a genuine character of a man named Scotty Mohan..... Damn we got old, this guy is great !! After the performance, which was all members of THE LINKING RING, Scotty had me do my own unique routine for him. He was pleasantly surprised by it. Never forgotten that night!
Wow. The first big die was expected and rewatching it closely I could see when he loaded it. The second one was a bit of a surprise but again after rewatching it you could see him loading it. The third however brought a big smile on my face because I was absolutely not expecting that and I couldn't see a thing.
This is such a great act, I absolutely love it
He "nested" those tricks together well in other words? Lol
There's a reason he smacked em together ;)
Thank you. It's such a pleasure to watch these incredible performances on youtube for free! Amazing job as always!
Awesome stuff. Please keep them coming, you're truly one of the best!
Amazing trick - always a pleasure watching your craft! Keep up the amazing work and hope to see you on the show again!!
Great trick, and love the showmanship Paul. Always a pleasure to watch you perform your magical tricks.
Everytime Paul steps onstage, we are in for a treat.. I am baffled at how he did the very final load, and I don't want to learn how he did it.. He along with very few magicians are the only ones who are still able to give me the long lost sense of bewilderment, and I intend to keep it that way.. 😍😍
Paul, you are always amazing and this routine was beautiful to watch!
You're the best of the best!
When a magicians hat goes in his lap shenanigans are afoot. Loved it !
Man I love Paul. Love how he makes basic tricks so compelling and entertaining. Definitely one of my favorites.
Another absolutely fantastic trick and perfect presentation. Love it. Can't wait to see more.
There’s so much to love about this. You’re still one of the best 🎩
This is the best act I have ever watched. He is amazing. Made me want to learn magic.
A true magic ninja master! What a delight to see Paul keeping two of the greats spell bound - along with thousands of viewers.
I think the last part, he wants to say that penn and teller nailed the small ones but not the big one.. notice that he keeps showing that the big one is so solid
So check it out as Penn and Teller are walking away he swaps out one of the dice on the table.
@@BlackCat6285 WOW.. so penn and teller still wins.. yeaa
Once in a while, P&T will say something like, "Can I examine X. If the answer is yes, you fooled us." 5:03 was Gertner hoping P&T would ask to examine the props and be fooled, but P&T didn't ask to examine the props, rendering it moot. In fact, that sort of sneakiness doesn't work well for practical reasons: P&T explain the trick's method to the producers, but the producers can't really say, "If you examined the props you'd realize X wasn't possible." *Maybe* Gerter would have fooled them if he'd brought them the props *after* the swap at 5:03, but doing that would've drawn the audience's attention to the swap (and *maybe* P&T's attention).
The swap in is at 4:14
No the point he is making is that the small dice were loaded into the big dice. They know how the big one is done, it's done the same way as all the other big ones.
Definitely my favorite magician to ever be on this show, always a joy to see you back!!
Can this guy someday open an academy where he teaches young aspiring magicians how to be so damn likeable & humble? Cause along with his gargantuan talent this is what I see the most 👏👏👏♥️
Try to find a copy of "Showmanship for magicians" by Dariel Fitzee copyright 1945
Just grow old and have a ponytail..... And be good at sleight of hand.
You can't teach how to be likeable and humble. This must come from within.
Paul Gertner Whatever you perform is just fantastic . I'm always pleased to see you back on Penn and Teller fool us . Please come again
Great performance! That finish was especially incredible!
Amazing performance as usual! Great job!!
💥BOOM!!!💥™
You my good sir, are a delight. Not only a world class performer, magician but also a gentleman
I have recently just discovered you Paul and you are absolutely a class act. Hats off to you sir.
Always like watching you on the show Paul. Any performer, magic or otherwise, can learn a thing of two from your performances
Thank you for the entertainment. You are great.
Outstanding 😍i just love the routine thanks paul
Simply one of the best sleight of hand artists there is!
I will never get tired of this man’s performance’s. Pure entertainment.
The King is Back
Blew my mind before the last continuing finales 😆 great work!
the way he puts the dice in the hat is so simple yet extraordinary
This is just an awesome version of cups and balls
Paul... I really hope you go on the show again. You're great to watch.
Mind-blowing! Wherever I thought he was going with it, he kept smack-dabbing my brain. Amazing act! I never seen so many 'finishes' one after the other like that. You are a master at your craft, good sir.
Kinda a new take on the ball bearings in the cups. Paul is my favorite performer. He's got great stories to go with the tricks. Real smooth performer
I think the way he clank the two dice in the end, he tried to suugest Penn and Teller if they know how he did that bit.
Which doesn’t make sense. Coz it’s a cheap move, yes. Cheap move even by his standards. He should know better
Wow, I was glued to this routine, laughing out loud especially as the big dice showed up!
As always mr gertner, fool them or not your routines are so so slick and a pleasure to watch.
Always a joy to watch you perform Paul! I can't wait to make a trip to Boston to see your show. I especially enjoyed the extra touch with clacking the big dice at the end... nice way to finish the act! p.s. Hey, where was your 4F pin?
Yeah I think that was just to mess with their heads. Clacking them and showing the bottom. haha
Thanks Shawn… glad you enjoyed it. The ending was a bit awkward. What actually happened was that during Penn’s talk I totally missed the clue he tossed out about the jumbo dice. So at the end I’m standing there thinking: “What about the second big die?” and I made a split second decision to pick them up and clicked them together. And Penn & Teller are sitting there thinking: “Hey… We just gave you a clue!” So it was a bit confusing.
In my show at the end of that trick I always do a s______, and then click the dice together and hand them out to the audience. I did the same thing on the show but unfortunately the multiple dice ending threw off my timing and the s______ happened as they were already walking away instead of still sitting there in front of me. I probably should not have done the click… but at that moment I still thought they missed it and I was thinking…: “Hey what about these?” Not realizing they had figured it all out.
But it was a good TV spot and overall I was very happy with it.
Great job Paul! 🎉 Thoroughly enjoyed the trick and was in awe when you made the big dice appear! ❤😮
Absolutely amazing!
So beautiful. Again!
This was to die for! :P Thank you Paul!
you may be the only only person who did a trick after the review, that I think just about everyone missed.
and you did it just for the laughs. i love it. i can't wait to see what you do next!
My gosh! You're a legend!!
Envy is a bad thing, buy I cannot help it when it comes to the discipline you clearly have. Kudos to you sir, you will always be one of my favorite magicians!
oh my please paul keep come on fool us it's always a pleasure to see you there with pen and teller, all of you trick are amazing too
I like what you did, this was basically a magician fooler. Doing moves (and pretending to do moves) that magicians know, w/o and throwing them off because they are keeping track of something that didn’t happen in the first place. You have to be a BEAST to do that. And really need to think outside the box. And you sir, are one of the very few people capable of doing such a thing.
One of the best tricks i’ve seen! Loved it
Paul, you are fantastic. So entertaining and unique. Keep going...
I had seen Paul on Penn and Teller fool us for a long time, since then i was much excited to see him on another season well he did showed himself 4 times before this on fool us earned 2 trophies and for fifth time even if he didn't got penn and teller he impressed everybody with his mind blowing routine that he had created. You will be always remembered Paul. It will be exciting to watch you again on fool us or any other show with your magic, you are a great magician and a great person too.
That was amazing, it blew my mind!!!
Another great performance, Paul. 🎲
What a professionalism... Such a perfectionist. Classic magician.
Even if u can't fool Penn and Teller, the show u did was brilliant. I really enjoyed the trick and your performance
So refreshing to see that you used dice. Great performance, glad I watched.
wow, what a juicy act ! nice, classy, with kick-ass kickers :-) as always juicy + great, Paul ! ( seen you live @ SAM, 2012, Pittsburg ) ...
Live long Paul Gartner, you never failed to bring a smile to my life with all your apparences. And wow, your hair is truly incredible!
Yes he got a ponytail
@@mercedeswilkins9085 but not just that, they look great... I wish I had his hair
Paul is an amazing magician! Love him!
Paul's magic is so so good. Just a perfect flow.
Wonderful. A true master.
This was so much fun. I love to be perplexed like this.
Paul is the most likeable contestant on the show! Love him. So enjoyable to watch. Another good trick. I know how incredibly hard is to top your own work especially when your work is genius!
Outstanding magician he's the best
Another great trick! Hope to see you on again.
This was a classic of magic that still surprised me not because I’m not versed on the secret but because of your presentation, skill, and showmanship. The ending got to me, though.
The first time I saw you was on the first World’s Greatest Magic back in the 90s. Anytime I see the Cups and Balls, I ALWAYS think of you, Paul. Great performance, you are a master!
One of my favourites. Still, I was able to follow along for most of the time
Guy is always so, so classy. He seems like such an honest, nice person. Plus his tricks are always so much fun.
An excellent performance. Paul is truly a professional in every aspect.
Well, I saw Paul's name on this latest video and immediately stuck it in my watch later queue. Another great trick, Paul!
It’s interesting he keeps doing similar classics routines but just give some new touch on it each time and it make it feels fresh every time.
Love all your acts. You are Superb
The most amazing Paul trick yet been a fan since the first appearance.
This is why I love this show ...
It's a Challenge... But it's also about True Love of the game. And You Paul are awesome....
Woooooow that was so incredible and beautiful to watch
Your performance was phenomenal 👍😊👍😊👍🪄
He is truly amazing.
This was amazing!!
I absolutely love your magic!
I don't know if you really want to beat them at this stage, or not, but I really wish you come every season, because watching you perform your art is amazing.
He didn’t have the heart to tell them. The second big die fooled them. Fooled me. I thought it was a shell until it wasn’t
He literally switched the dice when they went back to the seat while their back was turned at 5:03 in the left frame. Such a bullshit move to pull.
@@dantudor5600 wow . great catch. him clanking the dice blew my mind until i read this comment
@@dantudor5600 yeah good on you for seeing that. Thats such a scumy thing to do. Swap dice as they walk away and then clank the one he diddnt use in the trick at the end like that. Like wow
@@benjamingardiner5408 He doesn't seem to be clanking them to prove they aren't turtled, more like his is confirming they were. It might have been because he wanted to confirm they were right without just giving away his trick entirely, though the camera caught him on the swap. Don't really know though, and probably won't know until Gertner explains it.
@@dantudor5600 but isn't that just misdirection? a magician will do that to anyone to pull off their trick.I don't think that's a BS move at all, it's a way to try to fool them. Which is the premise of the show. The trick was over, and he didn't fool them anyway.
I agree with Penn, we all love ya. Its always fun to watch you perfom.
A master that is classy and amazing.
The whole performance was really a pleasure to watch
I am not a magician but I re-play the tricks in my mind and think about how they do it. For this one, I didn't even think that hard. I was disappointed when he finished the trick because I was hoping for something that would shock me and take my imagination to a dead end. He didn't fool me so how could he have foold the great magicians like Penn & Teller. One thing which I always appreciate about him is that he does everything very smoothly. He is one of the best I've seen when it comes to delivering a trick.
How do you explain the many dices at the end then?
@@dragonborn2410 let me give you a hint. Look closely when the small dices are falling from the hat. Do you see that black tubing (made of cloth) hanging from the hat? You can see the edge of that tubing. That's what was holding the dices the whole time, even before the trick started or when he took the hat to the table's edge and puts it quickly in the hat just before the last reveal. A lot of stuff happened whenever he took the hat near the table's edge. That's where he is an expert and does it so quickly and smoothly.
This trick was AMAZING, it blew my mind! It was an honor seeing you again Paul!!!
As a viewer this trick provides so much wonder and surprise - such a pleasure. I prefer not knowing how these things are done - I just love the story, the build, the surprises.
the way he says "the big one" brings me so much joy, and I have to say, teh ponytail looks fantastic on you sir.
Class act. Great talent.
I have to say sir thanks for always putting a smile on my face. Even after my cat died! I have always loved magic, and I never want to know how some things are done because once you know how it is done, a piece of wonder and joy is the price. Thanks for the fun.
Hi Paul, this is a wonderful routine! You amazed me a lot! I hope your wonderful wife is not mad at you and I hope to see you again in Fool Us!
I loved this trick... the last two ndings were a delightful surprise. Welll done!
I really made a mistake not following season 8 like I have since the BBC pilot. I had no idea Paul performed in Boston. I live 20mi away! (miles or minutes. it's the same!)
amazing stuff paul.
