"Whatever happened to just kicking the ball in stands?" THANK YOU! It's mind boggling the amount of times we see keepers try and pass it out of the back only to lose it and put unnecessary pressure on the defense.

Year after year, Real Madrid are underestimated, even the years when they've won it. In 2014, they had no chance against Pep's Bayern, in 2016 Juventus, Bayern, and Barca were the favorites, in 2017, the talk was that Real wasn't consistent enough to win it back to back, in 2018 the talk was Liverpool are far better. Last year we made it to the last 4. Never underestimate Real in this competition.

      @thehollowedtree9586 Před 2 lety +70

He MIGHT be a more complete player, but he's nowhere close to being the superior striker to Lewandowski. Facts speak louder than opinions.
Lewandowski has scored 40+ goals a year for 7 straight seasons. Karim Benzema has NEVER done it even once. Although he is on pace to do it this season. This season would be the first time in his entire career assuming he gets it done. Look at their league goal tallies as well. Karim's best at RM is 24 goals in a season. His best tallies are 24, 23, 21, 21, 21, 20. Lewandowski regularly hits in the high 20s and 30s. Last season he got 41 and this season he will have close to 40 league goals yet again. Mid 30s at the worst. That's nearly double the goals production. And Lewandowski does it in a league which has 4 less games than La Liga. Otherwise his goal numbers would be even bigger.
A CF/ST main job is to finish chances and to do so clinically. Not to mention Lewandowski can do more than finish as well. His assist numbers are very good. And he's phenomenal at holding up the ball and linking up with his teammates. Lewandowski is the best striker of his generation. If you actually count REAL strikers with no Messi and Ronaldo. That's not an opinion. It's a statistical fact.

At the end of the day yeah lewa is a phenomenal goal scorer & sublime assister but is he the type to drop so low down the pitch & start a break? Or drop even lower & defend hard & then begin to run foward after muscling a tackle or smartly disposessing the opposition? Yeah you're absolutely right benz hasnt ever hit 40 goals let alone 30+ until this season I believe. But his style of play isnt reproduced by no other #9 in the football world at the moment! Plus at the end of the day all those goals hasnt always got him the champions league, hasnt he won it once? Scoring 40+ a season? At the end its not about quantity its about quality! If you want to put it into statistics then compare the goals importance, how many has benz scored when its been needed to Lewandowski scoring 5 a game when the game has been already basically won.

Madrid fan here but Neymar is overhated, how does he get the blame for this?
In the first leg, they were ok UNTIL an injured Neymar came on the pitch and changed the tide of the game.
Had Messi converted that penalty, they would have had a way better chance to winning this game going 3-0 up on agg in first half after that Mbappe goal.
An assist in the first leg.
In the 2nd leg he had more key passes than both Messi and Mbappe combined.
He created that close angle Messi chance which he chipped
He created the goal that Mbappe scored,
2 of the other offside goals that Mbappe scored were also created by him, one was the through ball to Nuno Mendes and the other was a direct through ball to Mbappe. (Kudos to Alaba for playing the offside trap on both occasions).
Yes you could argue that " Oh so now we are counting OFFSIDE goals created ? " Fair, but it clearly shows that he was the focal point of all the danger that was being posed to Real Madrid while Messi brought nothing other than some 5 yard 1-2 passes in the midfield.
What PSG needed was a world class CDM this year who could help Verrati and PSG keep the ball and also be a wall for them, rather they went onto sign Messi for the money he would bring and the attention the club would get.
A bad 2nd half for the defense and Donnarumma was awful.

PSG was the better side till minute 60 but it wasn't total domination. Both sides up to min 60 had their chances, Mbappe is the one with the goals but they were offside. Even the save from Benzema's shot was a great chance. The whole game Real Madrid were pressuring PSG to break down their style, proof of that was that Paredes should have been sent off as he relied on harsh tackles to stop play, Verratti was barely seen compared to 1st match... 1st match, Verratti was everywhere, passing & linking up.. this time, only Neymar was seen giving crucial passes.
Reality is that Real Madrid dominated the midfield nearly from the start, only struggled when Messi, Neymar & even Mbappe came deep to link up or build in 1st half. The moment Rodrygo, Camavinga & Vasquez came on, more energy & running around pressing... it destroyed PSG.

I even heard as per yesterday, after this great win... "Madrid will not win this competition"... and you know what? In paper, Madrid shouldn't. They made their Financials a priority, they made their kids grow a priority, they put their money into technology to improve their physicality this last season a priority, they invested in a new stadium, they invested time and culture into their beings... the only mistake they have done is Hazard... With this team, half youngings half really "old and done" players as their core and they're still pushing thru... In paper, they don't have the team, but in their Heart they always remember they are champions. So, let's see what happens at the end of the season. Let them do their thing and be quiet! Some of the honorable mention will be of course douna for simply just handing the first and the most crucial goal which turn it all around.
And neymar and gana who could have simply stop modric or even foul him and get card but they were simply too lazy,
And also hakimi for not tracking the offside line, because he was the one who gave benzema the room to get his second goal ( yes this can happen to anyone but the be the best which he strives to be then he should do everything right, we can see example of alabha who track mbappe really well and made him offside for his second goal),
And lastly pouch as for me he is not ready to handle lots of super stars right now.

Neymar just cannot be bothered with playing anymore. He doesn't want to play more than 1 game a week and really he can't. He's not fit enough and he's made of glass. Remember when they talked about him being up their with Messi and CR7 🤣😂🤣😂 That needs to stop. No one will dominate the game like those 2 have ever again. 60+ goals a season like it was nothing. They had the right attitude and the work ethic. Good players work hard to be great players. Mbappe and Haaland will never put up the numbers they did. I think the fight between Neymar and Donnarumma actually happened in the locker room. Neymar said it never happened and provides proof by posting a screenshot of the message that he sent to Donnarumma.
First of all, since when have players sent heart felt messages to other teammates in the locker room ?
Secondly, tensions are always high just after a loss like that, look at how Al-Khelaifi composed himself, you think players are not going to act like that too ?
What I think happened was after the match Neymar starts to blame Donnarumma in the locker room and a altercation started. After awhile Neymar had time to think about what he had said about Donnarumma and sent him that message.

I feel like the Neymar chat went a bit far. He looks slightly overweight and unfit. But to say he can't get back to his best and that there's nothing good to say about him is to ignore what a few months of solid training can give him and his utter technical brilliance. He has a better touch, agility and skills than pretty much everyone. He'll be back to unlocking defences. But yeah he's a poor professional who obviously doesn't care as much about the game as your Ronaldos and Salahs - tbh it's not a law that he has to. These lot disrespecting him as a player and his attributes is just kicking him while he's down and jumping on the bandwagon. Still top 3 for me. The player who will struggle without his pace is Mbappe.

Everything you said is true, but I think their main point with their harsh commentary was that Neymar has lost that spark he had, The LOVE for the game. He seems to be way more interested in living the party life rather than giving football his 100% like Ronaldo does. And I don't think you can compete with the top players of the world by NOT giving it your all, Like Neymar is doing. Again, nothing wrong with Neymars choices, but he should also come to terms that he will be left behind by everyone else.

This defeat made me so happy for 4 main reasons:
    - Having an unlimited amount of money to buy mercenaries and build TOTY FUT Squad in real life DOESN'T work! Everyone see that turning PSG into QSG year after year was an antisportive idea.
    - Diminishing Nasser's argument against the superleague (the guy who illegitimately make an opposition to the biggest historical clubs which asks for a change in football against UEFA and proposes some radical reforms in order to deconstruct the monopolistic positon of UEFA in football). Some clubs would stupidly think that these historical clubs claim now the superleague because their clubs are going down but this argument is stupid at first. A lot of reasons are behind these but Nasser was hiding behind this one only.
    - Giving PENALDO another doubt and frustration for next year to find his future club! A club at his service to give him his unconditional satisfaction of letting him believe that he's the best player in the world and that he's superior than his teammates and he's of course the reason why the team is wining trophies. Now that he saw that PSG's plan to make TOTY stars squad is completely questioning by everyone around the club as these players are considered mercenaries without humility; PENALDO's plan to go to PSG next year is almost dead because everyone will mock PSG to continue in the wrong direction! It will no more considered a mistake but a stupidity and absurdity from the club! Their consolidated image and reputation will be completely destroyed. It will be funny what reaction will PENALDO and his agent will have about all of this because his only plan was PSG and his relationship with Manchester United is now dead lol with everyone inside or outside the club! Worst case scenario for PENALDO!
    - Finally, people who voted and considered Neymar the third best player in the world for almost 8 years now are today completely discredited. His arrogance, humility and stupidity will never make him a golden ball winner! He had a very good potential at BARCA and should have been the next golden winner after Ronaldo and Messi but he never made a very high impact in PSG! He ruined himself by being injured or too much suffisant on the field where you can see players who fight 100 times more in other clubs and therefore showed 100 times more continuity in terms of performance. We should not give a goden ball to a guy because of his potential but because if his performance. Benzema has less potential than Neymar but who shows a level of performance higher than the other because of work and professionalism. Neymar=antiprofessionalism athlete!
