Jordan, I fell off the cliff when you were talking about these gambling games & numbers re: them being bad for the players. no idea what any of that means. maybe next time you bring gambling games up can you please just at least give a basic overview? why such things ae bad, since most people on the planet don't gamble - or even have access to gambling (excluding those who do it in countries where it's illegal - but it's still not most people in those places either) for those of us who are clueless about gambling. and I imagine it makes even *less* sense to your youngest viewers..just saying.😐also, there are male prostitutes, too.
Does the MGM App work for non US citizens aswell? You know anything about the exchange rates from another currency? Thanks!
Only gamblers and naive persons go to Las Vegas. I visited twice and I was bored to death. It is rotting losing business to the Chinese one in Asia.
Resort fees are just part of the going room rate. They do it this way to shield some of the room cost from the hotel booking services.
He heard but hasn’t been to the strop club 😬
I live in Las Vegas and am retired LVMPD. It is illegal for the people in costumes to charge you for a picture. They also need to have a business license. You can tip them, but you choose the amount. If they insist on money, offer to call an officer up to negotiate. I guarantee you they’ll shut the hell up.
Yes this is true!!
And thank you for your long service to the community!
I have watched several video's about scams in Vegas and they all mention the street performers ,but they always leave out this information.
Thank you
Call me an idiot my first time in Vegas i didn’t know it was illegal to film inside casino’s. Oddly enough I did this at 4 casino’s before I anyone said anything
I live here in Vegas and this man is speaking facts! Once you go off strip things become a lot cheaper just like where most people come from.
Avoiding minibars is universal, not just Las Vegas.
It’s like he just discovered hotels.
Stores aswell their convenience stores
You oay exstra for convenience thats literaly their entire existence
Right. When you can't even put your own water or leftovers in there it sucks, though.
Don't even breath on the mini bar. One little shake of an item will trigger a charge!
Except that you just have to move stuff to be ibilled; it is not everywhere....
Jordan has been carrying this channel for the past couple of years. I enjoy the Jordan videos, keep them coming.
I oddly enough had a great experience at the gold and Silver Pawn Shop. We're actually heading there in March . I found a original piece of art. I made a offered and they came back with an offer that included shipping for the same price. They work with me because they knew I could not bring it on the plane. They completely earned my trust. I really enjoyed your videos! keep up the good work
My wife and I went there about 7 years ago. Of course none of the cast were there. It was smaller than what it appears on TV. Truly they make the money off the TV and selling cheap souvenirs
I just want to say thanks to you guys, we're coming to the end of our first trip to Vegas from the UK and we've felt that you've provided us with the right amount of experience to get us around vegas safely. Without your videos I'm sure we would of been so overwhelmed!
Many thanks
Liam and Sarah
Yes! Enjoy this really is a great city. Please stay hydrated. Go to the grocery store or do that delivery service he mentions
I'm happy you had a great time. What are the place in the UK great for us Americans to visit?
Thanks, Jordan, great tips to avoid getting ripped off in Vegas
Excellent, Jordan, especially good one. And I watch them all. You are doing great! Bob in Vero
I took your advice and asked for that CNF fee to be removed when I dined at Cayo. The server was happy to do it and I gave him a better tip!
Fantastic information. Clear and concise! Excellent presentation!
More good and helpful tips👌thank you🥰
Hi Jordan, I live here in Las Vegas, and I work for Caesar’s Palace for almost 30 years, your video is very informative, I didn’t even know myself about all of this information you provided, me I hate casinos, another thing, why would I pay a parking fee to this hotel where I’m going to do business with, anyway I’m from Baja California, but I live most of my life here in Las Vegas, most of my family are from Tlaquepaque Jalisco, wish you the best take care of yourself.
What's it like to see so many rich people?
Great video! I have been to Vegas quite a few times and thought I knew my way around, but I learned a lot of new things in this video. The one that was really helpful was that branded slot machines have worse odds than non branded ones. Like most people, I am attracted to the branded machines, now I know better ! Thank you !
Thank you for all the sincere and honest advice. Love it. Thumb up, like, subscribed, and share
Thanks for the tips, Jordan! Great video!
great stuff! Thanks for sharing...
Very informative. Thanks for posting.
This is making me want to go to Vegas right now! Great tips!!
I have not been to Vegas in years. Your assessment is spot on ! Especially about the Pawn Stars place, the owners are never there and the store has nothing but unwanted junk in it. Best bet is to stay at a hotel on Fremont street and get a multiple day bus pass to view the main strip.
why is it better to stay on Freemont street?
@@chicogozosodecabellosedoso Fremont is usually cheaper, and the casinos are just as nice. The light canopy is really cool to see as well.
the owner actually is across the parking lot on the south side about 70 feet away at his bbq place
What a delight, Monday video from Jordan … enjoy, you have motivated me to book my Vegas fix! Any canyon trip tips? I want to mix Canyon and strip visit from 🇨🇦
These are all spot on. Great informative video here!
When we stayed at an AirB&B just off the strip... Insta cart brought our groceries right to our door. Great stuff!! Thanx for all the great info!!!
Great video. Thanks!
Great tips! As a local, I have nothing to add!
always good information keep it up
Great advice! Thanks!
Going to Vegas soon for the first time and trying to watch all your videos, Thank you. Helpful
Great info. Thanks.
👌thanks for good advices😍👍
Thanks for the video. I just got back from my first trip to Vegas and the branded slots got me. I was up but then kept going down and down I stopped!
Thanks!! Great tips!
Holy crap dude! Can't thank you enough for this video!
Great tips, thanks.
Thanks for sharing these great ideas! I've never heard about the branded slot machines before, that is a great tip!
I have to admit sometimes I dip into the minibar, just because I'm lazy and it's convenient and I'm on vacation!
You hit the nail on the head regarding Gordon Ramsay‘s Hells Kitchen restaurant. It more than lives up to the hype.
Your 100 percent right brother been there done that but awesome experience and place to visit
very informative....thank you! I agree about the 6 to 5 blackjack payout....as a casino dealer I know for a fact that the players despise that.
I am so glad to hear that players hate it…maybe one day the tables will go back to being 3 to 2 at a reasonable price
Great to see you keeping Tangerine travels going, I figured it was over.
I think he decided to go after a completely different audience.
Great video buddy!
Great tip on the MGM app/ sports book withdrawal to avoid ATM fees. I’ll be going to Vegas twice this year. Might have to do that.
Love the videos. Thank you. Problem problem I have is the very first time I went I stayed at the Cosmopolitan. Now if I go any place else I think I wish I stayed at the Cosmopolitan. It is pricey! Especially when you pay for the plane to Vegas.
The internet scam and the timeshare sales are the same traps everywhere, including Mexico. Our first trip to Cancun had us spend have a day doing the stupid timeshare sales. I've been to Vegas a couple of times and didn't have those issues. Oh... and good job standing in front of the naked statue in the video. LOL!
Great video! Agree with you on all points. I haven't been able to get to Las Vegas in a few years and it's surprising to hear how they're chipping away at the betting odds to take advantage of uniformed visitors on the strip. Regarding the other scams, it's always important to keep in mind that you're not getting anything for free - If it seems too good to be true....
Love the name! As a museum/exhibition enthusiast, I get annoyed at venues that make you exit through a gift shop. I think it's tacky and a cheap attempt at trying to get you to buy the overpriced items and junk you don't need. I remember years ago at the King Tut exhibition in Philadelphia you had to go through a gift shop to leave the space. Walking through the exhibition you were shown how important he was and how much he meant to his people and the legacy he left. Oh, and yeah, on your way out, buy a low quality chocolate likeness of him on a stick or his likeness on a coffee mug or rubber ball. Way to honor the guy. BTW, I'm curious, why did you choose that name?
Thanks for the info
Real good ! thx a lot mate !
Thank you so much for this! so hel
pfull
Awesome advice !
Great info!
This is one of the best Vegas videos I've seen. Absolutely true, all of them. 👍
Very good idea on depositing into your MGM sportsbook account, then cashing out to avoid those ATM fees. Thank you!!
Thanks for this. All sorts of scams running there. Some of them you just have to swallow with your eyes open. My first time going to Vegas (out of two in my lifetime), I accepted a "free" stay contingent on listening to a time share pitch. But after searching a lot of dates, I wasn't able to book something that actually was free. Instead, I paid for an upgrade and got quite nice accommodations for a reduced price, but definitely not free. If you agree to a time share presentation, be prepared for one of the most intense hard sell experiences of your life. I managed to survive without buying, and one friend of mine in particular likes owning a time share, but the intense hard sell in itself tells me that this is a scam. Even though I didn't buy one, I now get regular phone calls from people offering to help me sell my time share, and this too seems like a scam.
Thank you Jordan! It is wonderful to ensure people have a fun safe time while visiting Vegas. They get you coming, & going. Just a big money racket. I bet you only see dollar signs in some of their eyes as they approach. Next they'll want to know if you fold your toilet paper to wipe. I am thankful for you.
Great video and tips. You are so correct on the Pawn Shop place. I have been there there a few times, hoping to see someone there, but nothing of the sort. That place is a tiny dump. You would think that since the TV show was so popular, and knowing that tourists will go there to see the place, at least one of the guys from the show would be there to greet guests and at least say hello. I went to Detroit, where the Hardcore Pawn TV show was set, but at least the guys from the show were there and working, so that was pretty cool.
the guy actually is sitting across the parking lot at his bbq place
Very good advice. Listen to this guy.
Very informative video!
ATM fee tips were gold, thanks!
Wow," sin city " it is🤑 Lots of great information Jordan!
Pawn Stars shop.. 😆 You're right!
Sad. They charge to get in? What's it like?
Thank you so much.
Good thread, all good points. I've basically stopped going to Vegas, since about 2000, when it had already stopped being a good deal...and it's just kept getting worse since then.
Dude that was a great a video👍
6/5. Outrageous!
Hey Jordan, I’ll be in Vegas in mid-March so refreshers are always welcome! I went to Gold and Silver not long after Pawnstars started. It was completely different, and I did see the Old Man, but didn’t speak with him. I hate resort fees, but since my room is compted I look at it as getting my room for $50 (or whatever) a night. Plus I do get free parking, some food & bev credit, line privileges, etc., so it’s pretty well worth it.
Going for the first time in 9 days! I am excited. :) Been watching so many video's.
@@damsbaug33 , if you’d read it you’d see I said “not long after Pawnstars started”. Are you a dead head?
@@Stoney_Snark Apparently I am. I missed that. My apologies.
regarding the Timeshare entrapment, I usually tell them that I'm on welfare and I'm in a rush to meet with my probation officer. The timeshare sales people immediately turn around and walk away from me.
I enjoyed a lot this uncomplicated mini documentary on Vegas. Great job. To be honest with you, resorts are all about capitalizing on tourists who are perceived to be rich or ultra-rich... Not to mention, in Vegas, they are quite inventive of cashing in extra dollars. A few extra tips here and there are not going to break the bank account of anyone like gambling does.
#3, yes!!! When CVS or Walgreens are 24/7, you cannot go wrong.
Great video!
Glad your back in vegas
Well covered 👏
Always great videos with the best info!! Thank you Jordan 🤗🌸
Jordan great advice, keep the videos rolling out. Those timeshare presentations are a total waste of time. I never forget a dude that asked me if I made 75K, I laughed in his face.
I have never been to Vegas. This video made me feel good about that decision. It would take the joy out of a vacation for me to know that I am over paying to be in the desert with big hotels where people are trying to rip me off around each and every corner. I'm not bagging on those that like Vegas. But I just don't get it at all.
I never felt that way about people trying to get you to buy things or whatever on the strip. Just say no and keep on walking. There’s a lot of good eats and if you know where to stay you definitely won’t get ripped off
There are good things here, but plan out your trip before you come to see what you want to see. Don't wing it, you will be disappointed.
There's people trying to rip you off around every corner at any vacation destination. Just have to tell them to get lost
Honestly unless you are interested in gambling Vegas is just not the place to go for a vacation, as it is the primary drive of the town. Well that and cheating on spouses supposedly.
All the other stuff was built up around the gambling and is mainly there to pacify and entertain the family/friends of the gamblers. This is why a lot of the restaurants and shows feel either low-effort or phoned in. Don't get me wrong, there is some GREAT shows in Vegas, some of the rotating musical acts can be amazing, stand up comics can be great (Comedy Stop at the Tropicana is a personal favorites as the price of admission used to include two free drink tokens) and shows like Circe Du Soleil are worth the price, but many of the shows and restaurants aren't worth it.
There are plenty of reasonably-priced places to stay in Vegas, and lots that offer good gambling conditions. Just don't expect that if you want to stay in one of the big Strip resorts. Do a little research and find a good local's casino to stay at, like Red Rock, Green Valley, South Point, or even Arizona Charlie's. Or consider staying on Fremont Street, the original Vegas. Then go visit the Strip if you want to take in the sights of the monstrous properties. Your hotel budget and your gambling bankroll will go a LOT further away from the Strip.
Like your really good videos… very truthful. And honest. One thing I learned about gambling..go in planning on the maximum to spend. Never more. I usually keep my money in the vault ..! I would plan on $100.00 as cash to bet on. Usually the dollar slots..funny but in the few years I would visit friends.. always won enough money to make it fun. Last time I went to the broadcast convention.. but won a total of 28,800 on first big win then 13,500 on second win. I kept out $500.00. Went home. Bought a newer video camera for my freelance business. The trip I drove from Mesa, ax..to Vegas..but stayed most often at friends. They knew where to eat. Yummy.
Good video. 6 to 5 blackjack really annoys me, resorts world is 6:5 on all tables under $100. But Bellagio and Venetian both had 3:2 even on the $15 tables
Great video.
Yes...Walgreens store has every kind of quick and cheap meals and drinks there.
I go through my usual routine when I go to Vegas. Sometimes I need to change my routine a little to adapt to the constant changes being made in Vegas. It worked fine for me. PS. I'm ahead of Vegas, but not by much.
Never been to vegas, never going, never been in any casino, but found the vid very interesting! and gave it a like!
Good advice
I love seeing this I didn’t know that much about this I actually work for the hard rock casino
Hell's Kitchen was 1000% worth it. The cost of the meal was helped a lot by the show of everything. Our waitress was awesome, and the smoke on the water is delicious.
Going this weekend wish me luck
It took me 2 trips to figure out the Walgreens trick, bottles of water from the Casino add up in a hurry on a hot day. Another one I hate is being surrounded by a bunch of guys trying to sell me their CD, or someone putting a bracelet on you without asking then asking for 10 bucks.
Just tell them no that you listen to country or rock.
I tell them I listen to Spanish haha
I had one of those CD guys try that on Fremont St and also when I was in NYC three years ago. Annoying AF
This channel makes the best videos no click bating 👍🏼
I have lived here for 20 years. In the tourist areas, absolutely everything is designed to separate you from your money. The free and value attractions are drying up one by one. See the volcano at the mirage before the "corporate rock" destroys it. That and the atrium at bellagio are about all there is left. I wish I knew what a tourist would really like here anymore. The Harvard business schoolkids the corps put in charge right after they graduated have killed the greatness it once had
"The Harvard business schoolkids the corps put in charge right after they graduated have killed the greatness it once had..." and increased the profits.
@@davidlawrence3106 In the short term. That's all they know how to do.
Not a tourist trap, but I hadn't been to Vegas for a number of years and I went there last year (2021) for a funeral. We decided one night to walk up and down the strip to "check stuff out" and one thing we noticed that was extraordinarily overwhelming was the smell and smoke from weed. It was everywhere and very strong. Seemed like so many people had one lit up and passing it around to their group while they walked along the strip. We get it, it is legal to use now but, man, it is everywhere and right in your face. So, if that is your thing then you are in luck but if you don't like or care for it you are going to be disappointed. It was really, really strong all along the strip and around casino entrances.
God bless you and your family
heyJordan are you planning a trip downtown how about the brand new Circa?
Good call on Uber Eats or grocery delivery - I always forget about that when I'm on vacation! But such a good call assuming they would bring it to the hotel.
Time share thing was great...we got free tickets to any show we wanted and $100 in food or gambling money....It also killed 3 hours that we weren't losing money gambling
Every year we used to go for a trade show we we would go to a timeshare presentation for tickets to a good top end show. And as a salesman I enjoyed watching them work their craft. Just say no. Timeshares are expensive, they are cheap on resale market.
We used to go in the 90's. The tail end of when Vegas was a good value.
Thanks Jordan
Thank you
I have a better idea for the timeshare people. Tell them you are local or that you live here. It works every time.
Or just ignore them 🤷🏼♂️
The time share thing is true everywhere. But if you don’t mind waisting a 1/2 a day you can actually find ones that comp your whole weeks hotel stay
I legit just got back from Vegas this week and I REALLY wish I watched this before hand. especially the 6-5 blackjack payouts
Thank you, I'm so glad I won't be tempted by any of your traps with the exception of the ATM problem. Does one need cash in Vegas? What for? How does one best get it? (I'm not changing my bank.) I'm pretending that the resort fees are just my actual room charges because I booked my vacation so long ago I can play my Senior Memory Card and forget what I've already paid. :)
Great tips! Re #12, cab drivers getting kickbacks to push tourists to liquor stores or dispensaries. They also get kickbacks from small, out of the way casinos. This scam starts when the cab driver gives you a hot tip that you can win big at a locals-only casino he knows about, instead of the casino where you asked to go. Plus he will come back to pick you up any time - just call!
Don’t do it. That locals-only casino is a dive out in the boonies with lousy odds. Once you figure this out, you will learn that your friendly cab driver doesn’t answer when you call. And you’re so far out in the boonies that NO cab driver is interested in coming to pick you up.
Bottom line: your cabbie usually acts friendly because he wants a tip. But that doesn’t mean he's your friend.
I'm a former honest cab driver. (Probably why I say 'former,' I couldn't make the average book compared to the McCarran tunnel rats, et al) and there are good drivers out there. I understand the tunnel is now not as bad since the Taxi Authority implemented a flat-rate fare (3 zones) to the strip. But I wouldn't put it past Desert Cab and Nellis Cab to figure out how to work around that too. Avoid those two companies, and Google map your route to avoid being "long hauled."
@@fredzeppelin3969 Just an FYI from another former honest cab driver. Those flat rates were/are set to make sure the companies get the same money they did from the long haulers.
There are no honest cab companies in Las Vegas and the Taxicab Authority is funded, and thereby owned, by the cab companies themselves.
I drove a taxi because I think it's fun and enjoy the constant interaction with all kinds of people from all over the world.
After 20 years of corporate BS, I thought it would be a good way to get out of the house and make a buck in my retirement. I was wrong.
The companies are owned by the children and grandchildren of the gangsters that started them, and they are still low life thieves pretending to be legitimate businesses.
*Deluxe might be the exception to the rule. I never drove for them, but all the good drivers I know have told me that they are straight.
@@rickb3650 agreed. I was even a Road Supervisor for my last year at Whittlesea. I could call in another driver to meet me at the station to get a "written warning" about bad driving (usually going 60+mph south on Paradise into the airport). I was ultimately told to back off on certain drivers. Why? Two words. "High Book." I would still submit that Desert and Nellis was the worst of the bunch. Glad I'm out of it too. 👍
@@fredzeppelin3969 Also avoid Lucky and A cab.
Good review t u
The Clark county detention center, the crematorium on Wyoming and the medical examiner’s office are must do’s while in Vegas.
I love comparing autopsy techniques in different cities. Never know what tidbit you'll take home! LOL
