    I just wanted to add that people on famiboards have been talking about the possibility of a breath of the wild remaster, so instead of a new cartridge simply for loading times like I said in the video, it could be a remastered version of the game(s) with updated textures, still making the old Switch 1 cartridges obsolete.

    Knowing Nintendo that's something to be expected

    I would assume they would simply download the game and require the cartridge as a license to play while you own it.

    Wow!

    They could also just let you install them like on PS/Xbox, and given how leaks suggest 256 GB storage ( a massive leap from OLED) this is probably gonna be the case.

      I hope something like this is the case. I want the best of physical collecting and going all digital in one neat package; let me buy the cart, install it on my switch 2 and the cart never needs to be reinserted again until it's being installed on a different system.
      I don't know how that would work with secondary market concerns, or with owning multiple switch 2s, but make it work Nintendo!
      For those saying just go all digital, well, I like being able to buy on the second hand market, gift old games to nieces/nephews and I don't want to deal with DRM issues.

      @@jayjayhooksch1 On PS/Xbox it still requires the disc inserted to run after installation.

      @@yzois yes, I'm hoping we can leave that as a relic of the past eventually. Again, I have no idea how that would work, but it would be nice to not have to get up from the couch to switch games, or having to carry multiple carts with me on a weekend away somewhere and just generally putting less wear and tear on carts and cart readers.

    So you're saying games will remain reasonably priced!

    • @XenithLive
      @XenithLive  Před 10 dny

      It'll certainly be a good thing for those of us who like cheap games. Catastrophic for the people who bought up every switch game and collectors edition at launch as an investment. Still, it's just speculation, we have no idea how backwards compatibility will work.

    • @twalchusky79
      @twalchusky79 Před 10 dny

      Agreed but games should never be looked as an investment (just my opinion). As a collector, I want to see as many people in the hobby as possible, which means keep prices reasonable. so if it's true I'm all for it.

      @@twalchusky79Absolutely, I despise the culture that's come into collecting the last few years where it's all about the value of the games, I originally got into it because old games were cheaper, now it's "this is by X company so it must hold value or else". So many 3DS games never even had the chance to drop in price.

      @@XenithLive I had a gamecube game stolen from me, eternal darkness. Didn't think about replacing it at the time. I was already on a PS3 when it happened. Recently I started getting back into the GameCube kick. Was going to replace it and it was like $140. I'm like um yeah. Pass. It sucks to bc I never finished it lol

    Yes and no. Simple answer is they want high res fast streaming textures. 12 rt cores only goes so far
