@@bigduke5902 Game critics back then scored the game pretty favorably. Alisia Dragoon has been re-evaluated by many after it's release and initial low sales as a masterpiece.
I'm really surprised they added Alisia Dragoon. That game is so underrated.
No it's perfectly accurately rated. It was never much more than a marginally below average run and gun best remembered for it's marketing
Its true, a great game, hope more people get to know more about it, now on NSO.

Alisia Dragon was already on Genesis Mini, whose emulation was done my M2 Studio like NSO's Genesis emulation, so this is not so surprising.
Beyond Oasis is legendary. One of the best RPGs of the 90s. We need Landstalker as well! Also, add Saturn as a platform and add Legend of Oasis! A man can dream. 🥰
I had never heard of it before this. It looks like Link to the Past with the look of Disney's Aladdin
Wasn't Landstalker the precursor to Alundra on PS1?
@@TimAllen624 Yet it plays like a top-down Streets of Rage. There are many, many games in the action adventure genre that aren't Zelda. Beyond Oasis was considered average when it was new and I never felt it was anything special.
@@EvilPikachu Yes, but plays very differently. It's one of the best games on Genesis.
That game looked really cool on the trailer; it reminded me of the mana series (the original one) and I’m excited to play it ^_^
This is a good selection of games. Earthworm Jim one is a great choice, especially with 2 on the SNES's collection

@@TheOneFreakservo Although I thought the sfx and a few music tracks sounded better on Nintendo than the Mega Drive version. It also would be fair of their counterparts were put into their respective spots, not only to save time on switching games, but also to give a compare and contrast with each other.
@@TheOneFreakservo EWJ2 on SNES has better music and sampling, and the game allows you to swap guns, while on Genesis, once you picked a different gun, you have to use all of its ammo ^^;

Awesome, you know, I always preferred the Genesis version of Earthworm Jim 1 and the SNES version of Earthworm Jim 2, so this is perfect!

Yes, I am also excited. I used to play it on Windows XP. But unfortunately the disc got broken, so I am looking forward for this game.

@@SaltyToad00 Yeah, I think the games name was: "Earth Worm Jim 3D" or something similar and I am pretty sure that you could play that on PC

Alisia Dragoon is very hard but its so cool. You have 4 animal companions that have completely different attacks and level up separately. And look at that lightning gun, so cool!
I applaud to this selection, three bangers with great design choices.
I loved earthworm Jim when I was a kid
Alisia Dragoon looks like a hidden gem. Grateful for the service because it made me discover games like Psycho Dream, which had such a unique and weird vibe to it that I really, really enjoyed. Hope they keep continuing many more games that most people never heard of.
Thank you Nintendo for adding these games especially Earthworm Jim that's my childhood I'm deeply grateful

The Genesis version of Earthworm Jim was the best and I’m so glad we are getting it! It had that the classic heavy Sega genesis sound compared to the SNES.
The Yamaha 2612 was one of the greatest blessings 16 bit gaming ever received
In fact, the best version of Earthworm Jim is Special Edition's version on Mega CD. Unfortunately, this ultimate version is not on Genesis Mini 2 nor Mega Drive Mini 2. :-(

Wow, Earthworm Jim brings back some serious nostalgia for me any time I see him. The 90s had so many great releases for consoles.

I can't believe I've never played Alisia Dragoon and Beyond Oasis and I've been playing the Genesis for years.
EWJ1 on MegaDrive and EWJ2 on SNES. Honestly, a perfect setup.

I'd settle for Darius though. I found the Genesis Tetris a bit rough.
These three I approve cause they are a classic and memorable. I never tried Beyond Oasis before so I am quite interested to give it a go.

@@knuclear200x Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion and the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass alone cost $50, and even when your membership expires, you still keep the DLC.
They take the dlc away if you get rid of the service I thought. I always just buy dlc on its own because I don’t want to lose it

I want to suggest Beyond Oasis to everyone that hasn't played it.
This game is a beautifully realized adventure game with a very unique twist on the zelda formula, unlike crusader of centy which is a more straight forward Zelda clone.
It was developed by the streets of rage people so its combat is a lot more involved with a ton of weapons to select and moves executed by button commands.
It has pretty interesting environmental puzzles and some of the best graphics of the 16 bit generation something akin to a hand-drawn disney movie.
It is also quite short.
Excellent, EJ1 on Genesis, EJ2 on SNES. Glad they got it right.
Wow. Nintendo is stepping up on their online game service. All these games are worthy classics. I want all these games. Go job Nintendo. Keep up the good work.

Fun fact the sample "HEY!" from Earthworm Jim is from The Terminator movie when Lance Henriksen's character yells HEY at the terminator and then gets immediately blown away.
I was not expecting them to add Alisia Dragoon! This is one of the games I used to play ALL THE TIME as a kid; besides the Sonic games. So much nostalgia! Might consider upgrading JUST for this game! If they add Vectorman 1&2, I’m going to have to upgrade! Haha!
Beyond Oasis and Earthworm Jim, this really was a great month for Sega fans on Switch.

The Story of Thor (Beyond Oasis) is a banger game. If you have the expansion pack, you should give this game a try!

Genesis has a level that SNES does not.
Genesis, it includes a level that was absent from the SNES port.
The music was better in the Genesis version.

Man I loved earthworm jim as a kid. I need to for sure upgrade to the expansion soon. Might do that next month probably. The emulation is not bad either. Probably the better way to play older games on the go now is on switch.

On current platforms yes. However if you own a wii u it’s even better for emulation because it doesn’t have that weird grey border

@@SaltyToad00 I believe it's worth it. There are some duds like Super Thunder Blade and E-SWAT, while some hidden gems like Wonder Boy and Monster World were not available, but it's worth the price and has a handful of great games. However, it's not backwards-compatible with Xbox One or Series X|S, so since you own the 360, I recommend it. 🙂

Oh Alisia Dragoon, wasn't expecting that, I own an original copy of it.
Also funny coincidence that I just bought a copy of The Legend of Oasis for the Saturn, the sequel to Beyond Oasis.
A side-scrolling BUP, a top-down BUP and side-scrolling SMUP/mascot platformer to round things out.
Very nice additions. Maybe use a similar selection method for the nes and snes library.

This is a great addition but when will the service be updated. I checked this morning and still none. Do we have a exact date?
I like how they have Earthwork Jim 1 on Genesis (the better version of Earthworm Jim 1) but yet they have Earthworm Jim 2 for SNES (they better version of Earthworm Jim 2.)
The Sega Saturn version is the betterer version of Earthworm Jim 2
We don’t have Sega Saturn….yet…
Sega Saturn is super hard to emulate so Nintendo probably won’t do it. Maybe Sega could release a collection of saturn remakes?
Y'ALL PLEASE PLAY ALISIA DRAGOON!!!! It's one of the best games on the Mega Drive/Genesis with lovely pixel art and an outstanding soundtrack. She's never really gotten her flowers but it's known that Alisia is a hidden gem on the console and I'm so glad other people will be able to experience her game!
It is quite a hard game though. It really encourages you to explore the stages to find the hidden power ups for Alisia and her monsters. Well worth being able to finish it or even just progress.
