Only a REAL man can fix the car one-handed while shooting a video, wearing flip-flops and dishwashing gloves...and has a sense of humor to boot! Thank you Sir for a pretty good 'how to' video and quite a few laughs.

    A little hack that I thought up, when I realized that I was going to have to remove my intake and hoses etc., was to find some 2" dia. automotive/Marine Grade heat shrink tubing. Most of the time we think of heat shrink tubing as thin pieces for little wires, but it comes in some really big sizes as well. This heat shrink tubing has the added advantage of not just being oil/chemical resistant, but water-proof as well. It has a thick coating of very sticky heat-activated adhesive inside that seals 🦭 😳 out the elements. I'm sure many will say that that's not spec. or whatever, but in a pinch it works and gives you time to order a replacement if you need to. I'm glad I did because I broke one of those evap hoses and this stuff did the job perfectly. I now keep an assortment of high-grade heat shrink tubing, because in an emergency you could actually use it to patch up a busted radiator hose. Here's the link to the 2" heat shrink, if anyone is interested.

    • @autohut3720
      @autohut3720  Před 3 lety +1

      I rebuild my valves with the oem plastic parts and do many updates I’ve developed myself to have them be as sturdy as possible so I have never had to deal with the metal flap kits at all. I suppose if the shaft screws on to the flap you would want to make sure it doesn’t come loose over time

    Question; I've got a third-party injen intake currently installed on my 328. But I wanted to try out the 330i manifold to attain that tune. Is it possible to use the 330i manifold in conjunction with the third party intake, or would I have to go OEM? Great video, thanks.

    • @autohut3720
      @autohut3720  Před 3 lety +1

      It should fit perfectly and work well with the intake. The 3 stage has all the same mounting points, difference is internally and having the disa valves to control runner length. Other than that nothing changes where it went before

    • @autohut3720
      @autohut3720  Před 3 lety +1

      I believe the n53 came with its own version of the 3 stage but I’m not sure at all. I believe the headports are different or rather have offset mounting points so if you were to fit one to your engine you would have to make sure it’s for N53 or see if an n52 one would happen to work. We didn’t get the n53 here so no experience with it.
