    After 20 years of being interested in car and car performance (starting with a 5.0 Foxbody Mustang), I watched a M3nace video and had the guts to remove my first intake manifold on my 323i to replace my starter. Thanks, M3nace. Also, the "might as well" clean/replace this while we're here tips are great too, so keep those coming!

      @@M3NACE I cut the ends of the M52 fuel rail. So the quick connector is still in use. From these end pieces I use standard fuel line to connect these end pieces with the M50 fuel rail. On the rail are no adjustments needed. The top cover cannot be used anymore. But looks fine.

    M3nace, Question - i discovered that my recently purchased 98 M3 already have the M50 swap. I couldn't tell at first because the connection of hoses and IAC value is completely different than your's. The previous owner did not use the kit.
    1. The IAC value is plugged directly onto the M50 manifold. looks like it's drilled in, same location as stock.
    2. The "T" plug in your video is left open. so i have no clue where those two hoses are plugged into.
    3. The IAT sensor is no where to be found. its not plug on the intake boot or the M50's IAC location. That hole is also left opened/unplugged.
    Question - it seems i have two open holes on my M50 manifold, the IAC plug hole and the "T" plug location. Should i plug these 2 holes? I am NOT getting any check engine light or lean codes. i am afraid it's sucking in dirty air.
    Thank you,

    Quinn what’s the pros and cons on throttlebody cooling on the BMW 🤔

    • @M3NACE
      @M3NACE  Před 4 lety

      pro is that the engine warms up faster, con is that the cooling system is more complex, and when the motor is hot the air charge is hotter, which means less power. I read someone did the math on it and they gained almost 1/2 a HP with the coolant delete.

    Question regarding TUNING ( i'm a newbie here)? M3nace mentioned using an aftermarket tune such as DINAN or RKTune. I looked them up and these are tunes that can be ordered pre-programmed with your list mod options. Sounds like all i need to do is "flash" my DME with a laptop with the tune and be done with. Should i also have my car DYNO tune after my car has been flashed with the aftermarket software? Thank you in advance.

    • @M3NACE
      @M3NACE  Před 3 lety

      I personally run a Kassel Performance tune on all my cars, great tune at a solid price. that said, the M50 swap can be run on a stock tune, and an aftermarket tune will only increase the performance, but there are gains to be had with a stock tune. a Dyno tune might be a little overkill for a mod this small, but it can be done and im sure it will yeild more power than a shelf tune.
