Came to see how to upgrade a cool new themed deck.
Learned how to turn a cool themed deck in a generic best cards in commander deck with a suboptimal commander for a low budget of 1 months rent.
Yeah I am building a vehicle commander deck and was hoping to find some cool cards. Instead the whole identity pf the commander is ignored to build the "best" deck.
What do you think about "Shoriaki, Genesis Engine" as the commander? I wish you'll make an upgrade list for that option.

@@Mr0rachadi Turns out a repeatable 1 mana draw 2 (discard 1) + create a token is good in Commander, who would have guessed? Honestly Shoriaki does *so* many of the good things in Commander by itself that its hard to justify using anything else as a Commander?
I mean seriously cards that typically draw 1-3 cards per turn cycle (Esper Sentinal, Mystic Remora, Rhystic Study) are some of the most played (and most expensive) cards in Commander. With just 1-2 untap tricks, Shoriaki can dig 4-6 cards, draw 2-3 cards per turn cycle *and* create a 2-3 creatures for each go.

I am surprised how low the creature count is in both these new commander decks.
Bronze guardian is such a sleeper, does WORK in my Akiri/Tevesh Szat deck

I have this deck except that I got Tameshi Reality Architect as my Commander and I'm leaning towards Vehicles/Artifacts and enchantments. This is because Tameshi can return an artifact or an enchantment to from the grave right to the field. Want a recurrable soul snare or Minimus Containment? Just pay X + White (where x is the Mana cost) and boom your stuff is back out and ready to mess up someone's day.
Man, if they would just reprint some cards and actually care about Azorius, I'd be much more excited for this deck. I feel like I'm better of building this and buying singles.
Yeah, my thoughts exactly. I know I can build this cheaper from singles, and usually get the nicer arts for cheaper too.

There’s an absurd amount of cards (for example, some of the cards you mentioned) that synergize with artifacts that are $5 and up and none of them were included in this deck. I’d stick with buying singles.
Agreed! WOTC has so many cheap alternatives they could have made a waaaaaaaaay better deck for us to purchase. I was also hoping for a Jeskai Vehicle commander since Red/Boro's has some great vehicle/artifact synergies ;p
Ugh. I'm doing the math and it's close on this one depending on what you want from the precon. Like drumbellower is going to be a little pricey.
I think wizards should have made some vehicles, like an aircraft carrier for example, or enchantments that produce vehicles. Maybe certain vehicles could crew themselves for a generic cost or you can still use a creature to crew it for some sort of added buff on the vehicle like a keyword ability or increased power/toughness, etc. Still think it's tough to make this strategy very aggro in these colors. The alternate commander/Mech gives you better value IMHO. Totally forgot about Spellskite, that's a great mention!
I would love to see an artifact or enchantment like (AIR BASE) that makes artifact token creature flying 4/4s with crew 2, that's a fun idea. they're probably scared of tokens with that much "rules-stuff" attributed to them
There are thopter artifact creature cards from earlier sets that create thopter tokens and you can make more.
If Phyrexian Metamorph copies a crewed vehicle, does it remain a creature or switches back to "uncrewed" state?

@@JakeandJoelareMagic I guess I was hoping for some exciting reprints (I think most of my disappointment came from the fact it was the lowest reprint value of all pre cons so far) and some crazy vehicles mostly. Its growing on me enough I preordered it regardless it is looking fun.
@@MrDelightful there were some really really interesting reprints tho! like Dispatch, only ever printed in new phyrexia ... unfortunately i JUST bought a playset :(

I was speaking generally and even then... i just found I was wrong lol.... it turns out the Dispatch was indeed printed other times and I didnt even know!

Reprint value wise it was around 60 dollars last I heard compared to almost every other commander deck being 90-100 ish on reprints. Feel like this was a missed opportunity to reprint talisman of progress.
Azorius precons have been the worst over the last 2 years among any other colors. It's sad.

Some other additions minus obvious ones like (jeweled lotus, crypt, free counter spells, and etc):
- New tezeret planes walker-2 to activated abilities
- Other artifact reducers: Etherium sculptor, Foundry Inspector, etc
- Mystic forge (and if you want the combo sensi top)
- Artifact copiers: sculpting steal, copy artifiact, mirrormade, replication specialist (new set)
- Metal liquid torque (for memenarch, cheap way to make things artifacts to steal)
- Artifact tutors: All the mages (i.e. trbute mage), fabricate, urza's saga, inventors fair
- Unwinding clock: Seaborn muse for all your vehicles and artifacts
- Removal: Add some in white to remove enchantments and creatures for Collector Oof or Stony Silence
- Artifact recursion: Drafana's restoration (so good after non exile artifact wipes)
- Pumpers: Steel Overseer (put a +1 counter on each artifiact creature you control)
- Draw (minus obvious like remora) - Sai Master Thopterist
More powerful artifact combos:
- power artifact + basalt monolith
- Dramatic reversal + isocrhon sceptor
so it's not really a vehicle deck, it's just slapping in overused annoying combos and the same cookie cutter cards that every deck that uses white and blue would use. Gotcha.
The cards that synergize with it are just disappointing. Lol

I would rather buy the deck, add red and turn it into a kykar vehicles deck. This deck is a joke.
yeah i've heard a lot of people talk about kykar as their vehicle deck commander. I don't agree that this precon list is a joke though, these are as strong as ever right out of the box. why do you think this one's a joke?
Hard disagree on it being a joke too, I've been playtesting it and it's been incredible so far
