Any way we can get a decklist of the cards added/removed without having to reference the pre-upgraded decklist against your moxfield decklist?
+1 to this, the description usually contains this info and I was surprised that this one didn't; it's usually the most useful info for this series.
That being said, keep up the great work @Nitpicking Nerds
late but now you can use moxfields compare tool with the original deck
Really excited for the Gruul Precon myself personally. Gonna do a little modification of my own on that precon and call it oops all swords! Sword of Truth and justice is gonna love this deck LOL
Truth and Justice is like "FINALLY a place to be played"
They tooled this entire re-make around Kotori, Pilot Prodigy
The Cards they took out and put in:
-Jace, Architect of Thought (Any Tezzeret would be better)
-Release to Memory
-Drum Bellower (doesn't untap Vehicles)
-Swift Reconfiguration
-Mirage Mirror (I disagree with this)
-Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle (Great card, but not for this deck)
-Cataclysmic Gearhulk (anti-synergy because this deck wants to go wide with creatures and artifacts)
+Echo Storm (Better to clone the best vehicles than to play bad ones)
+Saheeli's Artistry (Better to clone the best vehicles than to play bad ones)
+Phyrexian Metamorph
+Tempered Steel
+Forsaken Monument
-Raiders' Karve
-Mobilizer Mech (everything is supposed to have Crew 2 so we can already crew everything)
-Imperial Recovery Unit (Too slow?)
-Aeronaut Admiral
-Katsumasa, the Animator
-Armed and Armored
-Dance of the Manse ("How do we get a bunch of Vehicles in our graveyard?")
+Consulate Dreadnought
+Conqueror's Galleon
+Mechtitan Core
+Reckoner Bankbuster
+Anchor to Reality
+Deadeye Quartermaster
+Whir of Invention
Artifact Adds:
-Riddlesmith
-Whirler Rogue (I disagree with this)
-Indominable Archangel
-Hanna, Ship's Navigator (6mana get back 1 thing, 9 for 2)
-Raff Capashen, Ship's Mage
-Ironsoul Enforcer (This card is here for one of the alt-commanders, not Kotori)
+Vedalken Archmage
+Mirrodin Besieged (makes Myr that can crew or block)
+Digsite Engineer (2 mana for 5/5s or more!)
+Padeem, Consul of Innovation (the Archangel wishes it was Padeem!)
+Bronze Guardian (across the board MVP)
Ramp, removal & Card Draw:
(Most of the RRCD in this deck are good already)
-Silver Myr
-Gold Myr
-Arcanist's Owl
+Prismatic Lense
+Jhoira's Familiar
+Scaretiller (If you have a fetchland, like Evolving Wilds you can crew and play the fetch every turn!)
+Daring Thief
+Thought Monitor (1 mana -> draw 2 cards!)
+Shimmer Dragon (bonkers)
Lands:
(There are way to many basics in this deck, what the heck?!)
-17 basic lands
+Razortide Bridge
+Darksteel Citadel
+Ancient Den
+Seat of the Synod
+Buried Ruin
+Flood Plain
+Irrigated Farmland
+Nimbus Maze
+Glacial Fortress
+Deserted Beach
+Geier Reach Sanitarium
+Mirror Pool (can copy Vehicles if we crew them)
+Myriad Landcape
+Evolving Wilds
+Terramorphic Expance
+Ash Barrens
Overall thoughts: It's a little janky, not a lot of ways to win the game, but the deck is cool and fun to play.
No infinite loops, no ridiculous snowballing, no alternate win conditions, but you get to smack your opponents with super cool, massive mechs!
You are so wrong about swift reconfiguration, turning your own creature in to a vehicle and never crewing it is really powerful
Exactly, if your commander is not reliant on combat, its a protection spell. I can see it over perform in some meta. Sometime you just need to survive one more turn and it can hose a blightsteel colossus for at least a turn.
@@clanechelon so can a vanilla 2/2
@@ramirr i think you are missing the point where a 2/2 vanilla offers no flexbility and is easily removable if its the only thing protecting you from Blightsteel... But nice try ;)
Also if you can turn someone else's creature into a vehicle it will give you more time to build.
I think all the graveyard recursion is if you run shorikai as the commander, he’s like a fatty perpetual timepiece in the command zone
That is completely fair!
Watching this video through a second time and realizing the same thing.
I guess they built these recommendations with Kotori in mind. Can you make 1 about Shorikai? I think it's the better commander for this deck. (IMO of course and based on XP)
I don’t know why they made Kotori the front-of-box commander. Imo Shorikai is much stronger and the deck seems more geared toward it.
Vehicle is a rather niche and unknown concept for newer players. Maybe the same reason why we don't have werewolf precon for two previous Innistrad sets.
Pre-con commanders are usually straight forward to play.
Also, many of the cards they are throwing out really make Shorikai shine. If I can trash a bunch a good vehicles and bring them straight to the battlefield it's a no brainer.
My guess is because you can just use her to crew the Shorikai and search for it using something like Arcanist's Owl or Anchor to Reality.
The anger in both of your eyes when the person either says or doesn’t say Ferrari is hilarious.
Our "old married couple" is showing
Following you on moxfield just now guys! Let's keep the nerds at the top of moxfield. Love your content.
Appreciate you! Nerds forever!
Sometimes I watch a video and I'm like "these guys get it". And others I wonder if they've ever actually played a game of commander.
Swift reconfiguration is insane and really worth keeping imo. Although one may not run a lot of creatures in the deck at the very least you can throw it on the commander and never crew so you keep static ability and that goes with any creature youre running in the deck you may want to keep out. It also can act in some cases as a board wipe protection or even tsuedo spot removal if desperate.
If this card isn’t combining we strong advise against playing it
Its won me games vers an opponents voltron galea deck nothing like telling the guy with like 5 creatures in his entire deco he needs to crew his commander
It's a really great card, but sometimes people don't really understand the depth of what's possible. I've seen very smart players who are totally clueless about certain cards, concepts, perspectives, or strategies. It happens.
I appreciate that I now know how Ferraris work. Additionally, kitty in the video was a great addition.
Can't wait to buy this deck and upgrade it!! cheers for the video guys!
Thanks so much! :D
nice one! I'm waiting for the 2 decks I bought in prerelease. I also have a Depala, pilot exemplar of vehicles and dwarfs wich is really funny!
Swift reconfiguration turns your own creature into an artifact and dodges removal, turning it into an enchantment basically. Converted mine to Alela, her as basically an enchantment, is nice.
That sounds... bad
@@NitpickingNerds Investing a bunch of mana into your commander again sounds bad.
@@NitpickingNerds it’s actually surprisingly good for less combat focused decks, it’s not just a combat trick, it’s a protection spell that permanently makes your commander (or any target) harder to remove. The gravy to the card is that it also doubles as janky removal, I feel like you guys are missing the value on this card
Drumbellower is great with vehicles! It let's you untap your creatures to re-crew your vehicles to use as blockers!
Like really, i feel that's a huge miss here. You even have a side token generation theme. So you crew your vehicles on your turn. and on enemy turns, in response to the untap, crew your vehicles again with your excess tokens, getting to untap all your vehicles and crewing creatures all at once. So you always have your vehicles up. and just play around board wipes when you feel one is impending.
@@warl54961 "getting to untap all your vehicles-" Drumbellower alone doesn't allow that. You crew a vehicle to turn it into a creature, then it attacks, and when your turn ends it stops being a creature. Then during your opponent's untap step, Drumbellower lets you untap all your creatures... but the vehicles you attacked with remain tapped, because they stopped being creatures before your opponent's upkeep.
For the tapped vehicles to be reusable for blocking, you'd need something like an Unwinding Clock to be able to untap them. You're right in that Drumbellower is more useful than these guys think, though.
@@Maverick2736 can't you simply crew your vehicles again before the untap? I've played against this precon multiple times and they always seem to have more pilots than you need
@@Maverick2736 I could be wrong. I'm not sure anymore if a player has priority before things untap
@@Maverick2736 Vehicles can crew at Instant speed even while tapped so if you are allowed to make actions during your opponents Untap then it works by just recrewing them during it.
Definitely slapping an intruder alarm in this deck somewhere.. if I decide to play it haha. Good video fellas.
I knew when I bought it this deck was going to be bad but Thank you so much for helping rebuild it.
Was excited for this deck hopefully it drops to like 15 dollars given the horrible reprint value
That would be awesome!
And suddenly blastoise becomes a 25 Dollar rare
If you guys could do a Shorikai deck that would be amazing!
+1
A really cool pick for this deck is Minn, wily illusionist, you can trigger her every turn with the mech as your commander, which gives you more bodies for crewing and a way to put lands into play in blue
Add Unwinding Clock to the deck and Minn can be triggered on everyone's turn.
@@theotherguy4478 I added that along with intruder alarm, and iso rev as the first changes to my version
Some cards I like for this precon based off of some modern Blue Steel lists I think could be fun: Throne of the God-Pharoah (you’re going to be tapping to crew, why not deal extra damage to all opponents?), Chief Engineer (gives Convoke for all our artifact spells, should test, but could help with ramping out our bigger vehicles!), and Grand Architect (similar on the ramp theme, and also puts our 1/* blue drops into crew range with Kotori). Exited to play the precon & upgrade from these recommendations!
Can you post an upgrades list by itself in addition to the upgraded list? Makes it easier to see quickly what to buy.
How can Wizards throw 30 friggin' basics in a precon and not include me? It's asinine.
in an artifact deck no less
I am converting this deck into a 4-color Breya, Etherium Shaper deck that is all Artifact Creatures (Alibou, Ancient Witness as a sort of secret Commander). I am definitely going to have fun with this one.
I am doing a breya deck similar
@@NitpickingNerds That new Non-Artifacts board wipe is going to feel so good to cast!
I had the exact same idea! I wanted to use Alibou with Kotori so I started building this on Moxfield. I named the deck "I, Robot." But I haven't really developed it too much.
@@ArchangelJaceAscended Mine is going to be called "IT'S A GUNDAM!" or "Autobots, Roll Out!". I already have much of what I need for it, just gotta jam it together.
It's scientifically proven that wishing everyone, happy birthday each day of the year, makes the world a better place.
This is true!!!
10:00
As somebody that plays the deck in Standard, the reason they put this stuff in there is because people actually use Artifact/Enchantment removal and your vehicles die.
Nice video thanks
I have been trialing a kykar and alela vehicles build - it is surprisingly efficient and somewhat good
Cards are so cool!
I wonder if integrating some of kaladesh's boros vehicle×pilot toolkit & running akiri & galcian in the CZ would make for an interesting respec..
My favorite deck i have currently is a Hanna, ships navigator deck, when Beezy said it was a good card i almost fell off my seat. When i cast my commander my playgroup jokes that i have nothing better going on or i would have played something else, it is literally the worst card in my deck, but i love her.
I did a Sidry deck with vehicles and is great and powerfull
"Will you say 'Ferrari', please?"
"No."
Best moment in the video 🤣
I agree :P
Hi everyone, could you have the list of cards to add and remove from the precon-deck? Thank you
I think there are a lot of things that you missed on the "bad cards". For example, swift reconfiguration. Put it on your own guy to make him harder to target. Vehichles are not creatures so they are harder to get rid of.
Danse of the manse seems like very strong recursion, because it also makes fhe vehicles into creatures. It definately has the issues you mentioned of only working after you get vandalblast, but i also run command the dreadhord in decks that have no sacrifice or mill themes (i understand ctd is better because it hits other yards).
I dont even strongly disagree, just would rather playtest it a few times befpre cutting it, because its absurd in my alela list
I have found at my table that artifact wipes have been increasing in value, my cousin does play stuff like Mana Crypt and Moxes, and more than once, Culling Ritual has shut him out of the game. Bane of Progress has also been quite nasty, my roommate runs it in his Halana and Elena deck, since it does place +1/+1 counters on itself and it has the synergy for the deck
Losheel, Clockwork Scholar could be neat, it can draw you a card a turn and also prevent the dmg against your Vehicles to help protect them
I love the utility land suggestions, I'm a big fan of utility lands, I may be a bit greedy with my Utility lands, trying to squeeze out the most out of my land base lol. I feel like they royally screwed this deck up from the getgo, though it may be due to vehicles not being great cards to add to a collection.. but they could have at least added a solid mana base and mana rocks: Talisman of Progress, Wayfarer's Bauble.. Pain land would have been a nice choice too, and the utility land options mentioned in the video
But, the myr can crew vehicles? So they are a better top deck than a normal mana rock. Or a familiar.
Doesn't mirage mirror help you by copying your strongest vehacles?
Every deck SHOULD have recursion, because someone really could be red-green hating out your artifacts, and then you've gotta lot of pilots and nothing else.
Always gotta have recursion, gottdayumn.
Have preordered the deck already but still deciding on which commander to use out of Shorikai and Kotori; any thoughts on how Shorikai fares at the helm of the deck?
Shorikai provides more consistent, immediate value as a pilot generator and card draw machine. You need pilots to crew vehicles, and it acts as a vehicle in addition to everything else.
on the topic of basics, I do have a deck with over 30 basics, but it is mono color, and is indeed Sasaya, Orochi Ascendant. and she absolutely cares that they are basics, but yeah, any of my other decks run a lot less basics, even mono-colored.
NEW NITPICKING NERDS VIDEO!
Please do one for the mech commander as well.
My only two cents: the new decklist is a bit creature-heavy. I'd replace a lot of those slots with more target removal / creature-focused board wipes. You're also not taking advantage of creature lands in the land slots...those make excellent pilots for the vehicles.
How many consultants do you have and what resources do you use I’m very curious.
To be fair I use mirage mirror in my mono-black Ayara deck to copy lands that generate a lot of mana.
Why does no one include treasure mage in these rebuilds? I see lots of potential for it. Am I wrong? Or conjurer's closet for that matter.
Consulate Dreadnought is an odd choice. Early game its fine, you might get a couple free shots in with it. Stalemate it probably doesn't give you an advantage, most people can afford to throw chump blockers under it, vanilla big attackers rarely lead to winning board states. If you are behind on board you probably don't have your commander out or enough bodies to crew it and it does nothing if it can't be crewed. If you are ahead on board its not too bad, a 7 power lifelink/vigilant swing its pretty good but there are better pieces that you can draw.
It is a cheap vehicle that comes out early and beats down all games. Vehicle are overall pretty bad
“Will you say Ferrari please?”
“No”
Gold.
Anyone have a list for just the cards that got added
Scaretiller with this mana base is absolutely BASED
do you think that it would be good to good Esper to include Greasefang?
From my limited amount of experience, making the deck into an Esper deck completely changes its playstyle. Debatable that it's for the better, it becomes a Grixis style Cycling deck instead of a pseudo aggro-midrange
@@iBloodxHunter yeah I have been playing around with it and it doesn't make sense as you need to get get cards in the graveyard find GreaseFang and by that time you can already cast the big vehicles. Is there other cards that would make sense to move into black for? My idea now is just for fun low power. I am also thinking going five color for full jank.... And call it the Jankyard Vehicle deck
@@DeathMonkey21834 Eh, there's only a couple that I can think of. There's a Saga that buffs vehicles, the 4 mana Aura that destroys a creature on ETB works ok, there's Mojutai Soulripper which is pretty good and aside from that just generic discard outlets and removal.
We're talking about Commander though which is a format I have little experience with and you have access to most of the card pool. I'm only thinking of NEO cards, there's stuff like the Leiges, there's the EMN Legendary searcher Thalia's Lancers.
Speaking of jank, I'm using a copy of Coax From the Blind Eternities since the deck came with like 3 ways to get off color mana so I can play an "Extra Deck" of Eldrazi, mostly Emerge cards.
i didn´t even THINK about cloning the best vehicles instead of playing mediocre ones. seeing it this way, clone effects actually are vehicles so that gives me something to think!
I think they were worried about blood moon when they made this deck
Cars hate red moons!
a shorikai version would be nice. anyway thumbs up
Watch Murderville with David Arnett. Lol!
Joe wants to name this deck Ferrari's Wake
Yes and yes
For of Aeronaut Admiral, they could have reprinted Vedalken Humiliator instead.
Yay, love the amber include 💕, sad no MDFCs were added tho
None really fit this time
@@NitpickingNerds I feel glasspool would have worked but a lil expensive
The pathway land would work. Better than having a basic.
An actual win con is to go infinite with intruder alarm and a mana myr. Draw your whole deck play your other mana dorks. Make infinite mana gain infinite life with immortality elixir and then discard your deck and reanimate with dance of the manse counter anything let it resolve. Get your counter magic back with immortality elixir and then cyclonic rift and attack for game
Or just tap untapped 15 pilots with halo fountain
This deck can win on turn 3 or 4 with a good opening hand
Disagree with the mirage mirror. You can make it a Blightsteel colossus in a pinch if possible
why is indomiable archangel in the precon? it turns of half the text of the commander.
Y'know, this is a good point
Consider me buckled!
GOOD
As a fellow Timmy player like Joe you can tell he's way more hyped about this vehicles deck! I'll say it with you Joe! FERRARI! Two Ferraris are indeed better than one!
Also side note I plan on being obnoxious with my play group and making absurd engine noises, mech noises as well as playing the gundam wing theme for ambiance. My play group hates me 😔
@@jwromero23 You'll have to do the "t minus x seconds" with the launch sound afterwards.
Not sure how Emry is still in the deck with all the other cards that got cut
Armed and Armored with Isochron Scepter and Unwinding Clock?
Boooom!
Just showed you guys some love with my last TCG card purchase!
Woohoo we appreciate you!!
Is there a "Just the upgrades list" link?
We did not make that but we can.
@@NitpickingNerds If not it's fine, it's just really convenient to not have to cross reference the upgraded list with what was already in the precons.
@@NitpickingNerds please do , it would be much appreciated.
Cutting Mobilizer Mech and Recovery Unit is such a mistake.
It seems like adding them is a purely defensive move when we can't proactively put vehicles in our graveyard
Turning Buckle up into a powerhouse. Pick shorikai as commander and shove in an Intruder alarm into your deck.
Yeah I love Jace (obviously) but that Jace does absolutely NOTHING for that deck. First card I decided to cut, too with my theoretical build (since I'm still waiting on the actual deck to arrive). Drumbellower was also one of the first ones I cut because it works SO MUCH BETTER in my Garth One-Eye deck, where I want to untap him every turn. And I cut Swift Reconfiguration as well because, yeah, it's just not good removal. I kept Teshar because I think there's still some value there. I put Burnished Hart in and that's a great creature to get back with Teshar. I'm trying out the Gearhulk though, since you can keep a creature and an artifact, but I see your point. I cut the Admiral, too. HIs CC is too high and there's a vehicle that gives them all flying. And yeah, Armed and Armored is pretty bad. Too bad you can't play Reckless Crew to create a bunch of dwarves if you have vehicles but no creatures. Archangel and Enforcer are out for my Boros equipment deck since it's more of a Voltron strategy than this deck, even though Voltron is in it. I like Mobilizer Mech because it's good after a board wipe. You can cast Kotori from your Command Zone and immediately attack with TWO vehicles. If it was more expensive to cast, I'd say cut it, but at 2, I think it's decent. I also cut the Silver/Gold Myr. I like Arcanist Owl. And Thought Monitor was one of the first cards I thought to add. Guys, USE Liquimetal Torque! You don't need much color fixing in a 2-color deck so this is good because it can turn non-artifacts into artifacts, which has a lot of practical applications, including protecting Kotori from your one-sided board wipe. Phyrexian Rebirth is a board wipe that gives you a huge artifact creature. Also, consider: Filligree Angel, Ethersworn Sphinx, Losheel, Sculpting Steel, Duplicant, Sanctum Gargoyle, Steel Overseer, Phyrexia's Core. If you want, you can check out my deck here: www.moxfield.com/decks/oj8XerUbpk6WKVw0cImtVw . It's SUPER budget though because I have a really limited budget. like I can't even afford Phyrexian Metamorph or Shimmer Dragon right now. I'm going to try building it with what I have and then see about getting some budget cards to upgrade. So a lot of my "considering" cards are just cards I don't own at the moment. My mana base isn't finished yet, either. I'm really excited to...ahem...PILOT...this deck!
You added anchor to reality so your possibly sacrificing artifacts if you don't have artifsct tokens to pay it...
This is the classic “buy some of the singles” precons lol. A few new vehicles are cool. But this doesn’t synch well with the black vehicles in neon dynasty
I like some of the new space they're exploring with vehicles but I think it was too early to make a Vehicle commander precon, especially since almost all of the new cards aren't very powerful (not that they NEED to be, though)
Wait, no MDFC's were added to the mana base? This isn't the nerds I know
We were going so ham on the duals! We got some really good ones in that we usually can't fit intot a Power-Up
It really feels like the deck is going between using Kotori or Shorikai as the Commander. Half the cards feel like cheap vehicle pilots and expensive to crew vehicles, and the other half feels like a controlling GY matters deck.
The deck almost feels like it's at odds with itself as both potential strategies don't necessarily work together well
I think WotC should release these precons with the intent of just using a single commander in the deck. They're going "if we add multiple commanders in the deck and make the deck in a way that makes all the commanders (half-assedly) work, people will like it more because variety sells! And if they need to customize the deck to make it work better with a single one of the commanders in it, then they'll buy boosters!"
And that just takes away value from the purchase. If an EDH precon purchase isn't worth it because it's half-assedly built and the value of both the reprints and new cards is getting cheaper with every release, why keep buying precons in the first place?
Joe “Ferrari” Cherries
The deck looks slow, I would put some hatebears, like: Lavinia, archon of emeria, drannith magistrade, ethersworn canonist, etc
Why not flash myr instead of raff capashen
The myr is an artifact in our artifact deck 😊
It feels bad to buy this deck because of the poor mana base. Sure, I can slap some lands in there. But there should have been a bunch already in the deck!
The man base is a joke
You need Thran Turbine
Ferraryxian Metamorph

No mdfc ? :o
Quick fix vehicles don’t work in this format or in any other so I took them all out and figured something out
New drinking game...shot for every Ferrari
I'm happy cause none of those decks are my jam. Bought Planar Portal instead. Loving it!
joe’s little click-click at the start made me laugh out loud!!
It was a good sound effect!
its kinda obvious that all of these "graveyard recursion" stuff is based on Shorikai...Whirler rogue and ironsoul samurai sound ALOT better for him as your commander.
Do u guys play precon games the board is wiped at least 2x if not 4x and then u use ur creatures or anything to block to stay alive til the next turn lol at the end of a precon game u r usually at least halfway through ur deck and either those cards r in ur graveyard or hand or both........ When u have the scariest thing onboard u get targeted and it gets removed or exiled and if it doesnt cool then u r winning or going to win............
Jace, the we need a planeswalker. But we're cheapskates
Save up for a Tezzeret, basically any Tezzeret, WotC!
I'm a bit of a bully. War Karn
Every deck *needs* a planeswalker, but of course the precon that gets the *good* planeswalker is misprinted and they replace that planeswalker with a land by mistake.
Why couldn't *this* one have been a duplicate land instead?
You guys are dead wrong on rapid reconfiguration js.
What did we miss?
Inb4 all these cards spike in price
I don’t know if we are THAT influential lol
"who puts 30 basics in their deck?!?!?!" yea who does that when they can run better lands... pushes away Bant deck with 30 basic lands
I know this video is a bit older, but you did read the second commander in the deck? That is the "magical" deck that needs the GY stuff and after testing is the better commander. Hindsight is 20/20, but yeah it is funny to see you wonder what those cards is for while Shorikai is just chilling there.
see the price of your suggested cards explode ^^ some people on cardmarket literally buy all cheap copies of cards you suggest
