He released the best jazz album of the last year, likes Ed Motta, javanese traditional music, anime and he's always trying to be a positive influence for kids and everyone that comes in touch with him... Such a great person. I admire him a lot.
Felipe balinese gamelan is better than javanese gamelan imo
what's the difference?
@@xadisembodiedvoice I guess Javanese gamelan's tend to have a slower beat than Balinese, but I don't really know
I LOVE THAT KAMASI LOVES ANIME
If they another Cowboy Bebop movie I hope Kamasi does the soundtrack
+Tremaine Triplett That'd be HELLA dope
YES
I'd die. That'd be so amazing.

Ocean Sage mhhhh bbng and ghost face sour souls anyone
And the best jazz album of 2018.
Please get more Jazz artists to Amoeba. It's so intresting to hear them talk about their sources of inspiration.
Badbadnotgood
BBNG isnt really jazz
What IS jazz?
Ed Motta would be great I think. He has a really big record collection.
He seems so well put-together. Very articulate, very down to earth, and also very diverse. It's cool when you see people like this in the music industry.
totally agree
Jazz fans all over the world are praising this man ! I know that jazz isn't for everyone, it never was...but when the jazz bug bites you can't get enough of it...Watch all the old videos of Roland Kirk, Ornette Coleman, Sonny Stitt etc. and you see men who function on a whole other level ....Kamasi is on that journey !
james mcbride jazz is for every one.. but at different times of ones life. For me it was always in the background... and now as an adult its at the forefront.
"Alice Coltrane will be bumped" Feel that heavy!!
+Goldberg for sure got it recently on vinyl OG oewieee had spent some bucks but it was worth it.
I died when he started talking about Anime
RIP
How can you not love this guy?
Hey, what a surprise to see an Ed Motta album in his bag. I am brazilian, and I know Ed´s music pretty well.
fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinally been waiting on this one
+koykah Hope it was worth the wait!! :)
He likes Ed Motta!! Brazil Loves you Kamasi !!
Kamasi is the man. Saw him live and it was great, awesome music. He seems like a real nice guy too.
This dude. Legit, one of the coolest guys around.
Oh gamelan man, one of my favorite styles of ethnic music... At first it goes everywhere and you think "is this like jazz" ? But there is 0 improv, it's all rehearsed like crazy until perfection. It's mostly intrumental, and the bell-like sounds hooked me to it. It's long tracks, psychedelic, with breaks, climax, it's a bit like post rock in a way, very hypnotic post rock.
what a charming human being. seeing him live in a week and I'm very excited
I love when he's talking about gamelan it's from my country
the intro in beginning.
"Kamasi Washington - Miss Understanding"
what a nerdy genius!!!
this is exactly why "What's in My Bag" series is pure gold
his tastes are superb, never heard his record but imma pick it up off the strength of this

best artist of this year ;)
Listen Ed Motta! He's our Brazilian hero!
Super!
Thanks
One of the dudes I wish I would have met or grew with, along with DEL, to share music and good old school fighting video games times. Real artists are hard workers on their thing but they stay open-minded on different inspiration sources. People like that make you want to play music too as they cherish the beauty and fun of life.
Kamasi fuxd up Coachella live 2018 loved him and his band 100%✓✓✓performance
I'm lucky to be born in same generation as Kamasi !
I dig Gamelan too
if there's more people like Kamasi in the world, then there be no war but only peace :)
you take the words outta my brain... this is the coolest, no bullshit cat alive! I just got a global music education
Very Cool.
