ബജ്ജീസ് (BAJJIS)

BAJJI
Ingredients
1) Besan (Gram flour) - 2 cups
2) Rice powder - 1 cup
3) Chilli powder - 1 tsp
4) Turmeric powder - A big pinch
5) Asafoetida powder - 1 tsp
6) Ginger-Garlic paste / Jeera powder / Ajwain - to taste
7) Salt - to taste
8) Soda powder (Opt) - A big pinch
9) Oil - 2 cups
Vegetables
10) Potato - 1
11) Bajji banana - 1
12) Big onion - 1
13) Capsicum - 1
Preparation
1) Mix items (1 to 5) together & sieve once, add any one from among the sixth.
2) Then mix with ½ cup water & make a dough, add carefully enough water& make a batter of the right consistency without lumps.
3) Arrange the veggies in thin slices take each dip in the batter drain slightly & fry till golden brown in moderately hot oil in different batches.

madam teacher, I adore you as a fine teacher. One thing I would like to tell you. That is "using oil". What does it mean? If it means oils like sunflower oil, or other oils they are also like any coconut oil (velichenna). Coconut oil is also an oil. So just tell coconut oil or any other oil (except mustard oil which will take away the malayali touch. Touch you feet with a great respect. You remind me my mother and my teachers too.
