    WHAT IS TALK HEATHEN?
    Talk Heathen is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared toward long-form and on-going dialogue with theists & atheists about religion, theism, & secularism. Talk Heathen is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
    Talk Heathen is filmed in front of a live studio audience every week at the Freethought Library of the Atheist Community of Austin.
    The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop & support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing & friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of government-religion separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists & to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
    We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

      I also have schizophrenia and have had religious themed delusions at times, tho even at my most delusional did I ever have the experience of belief in a literal God or anything supernatural.
      With delusional content, I advise it most helpful not to argue or over engage the topic. You lack the capacity to doubt the delusion while delusional. It's most helpful to briefly hear the thing and then change the subject to other more mundane topics.
      Like, "Ah I see. OK. That sounds stressful. Anyway what would you like for lunch today?". Because you lack the ability to doubt the delusion, but you do have the ability to not think about it for now. Everything everywhere will seem consistent with the delusion being true.
      Imagine that you alone believed that you are awake right now and other people are awake and exist. You can never prove it, but you just know it has to be true. You can't even imagine it being false that humans exist. We're humans after all. Arguments about it are just upsetting, make you want to argue it more, prove it. Yet other people act like nobody in their right mind believes humans exist (despite themselves obviously being human). Whether you are a human reading this comment on CZcams, or just a god having a dream about a world full of humans, things will work out for all of us better if we just don't think about it too much. Dream world or real world, it works out better if we engage more on topics other people don't find to be delusional. You couldn't prove reality is non-dream based anyway if you wanted. All evidence examined would point to the delusion being true, but only for you. Best not get obsessed about it or life will pass you by.
      I happen to believe reality is real, we're awake in real life and only people awake can read comments on the internet, but hey, that's just me.
      It's nice that these atheist shows are posted for us on the internet, isn't it? I am drinking coca cola today.

      What is even worse is he thinks the problems in Africa (which he even calls a country) are because of a lack of religion, when colonizers actually forced their religions onto the people there and Africa is more religious than the Western countries by far. Of course on average, Africa is less well off financially and educationally than the West, but it's not just uniformly underdeveloped and miserable.

    Over five thousand years of claiming they have proof of an imaginary God, and not once being able to, if one had proof they would not still be attempting to argue it into being, as Homer Simpson famously stated , "If at first you don't succeed, GIVE UP, no point in carrying out and making yourself out to be a fool.

    This is an old discussion, but as the data hasn't changed since then (at least not to a degree changing facts);
    I am Swedish, and Sweden has been a country where the migration of people are mostly into the country and not out of it for around a century. And while we religiously lean Christian, we don't mix religion and state to even close to the same amount countries like US do.
    Rob is one of the worst masking racist I've heard on any atheist show, and echoes one of the two standpoints racist tends to take. Either Sweden is likened to the "great homogenic race state" that the race-realist tends to throw at Japan more often, or it is an example of what happens when you become multicultural (which is also wrong, ofc).
    I should also clarify, as some might not know; Scandinavia isn't cut off from the rest of Europe, with one(/two) of the three(/five) Scandinavian countries not even touching the pennisula of Norway and Sweden but the "mainland" of Europe, nor is Scandinavia cut from the European Union. Bigotry will make you buy into dumb, easily-to-disprove BS like that.
