    CK1 has been my main rig since it came out. Like it so much I have two of them. Since adding a Primo I have spent a lot of time in that. Looking forward to a video with that little boat. Definitely took me some growing to get comfortable but everything I wasn’t super comfortable with initially is everything I love more about it. Obviously a smaller boat but has proven overly capable and has actually changed the way I paddle.

      I hear ya, the Ck1 and Primo are awesome! The Primo, is a little squirrely then the CK1 but more responsive due to it's Smaller size.

    Hello man this was a great review the Crescent kayak. It handled the rapid really well. I'm thinking about getting one of these kayaks for a backup for friends who don't have a kayak to use. Thank you for sharing this video.

    Great looking kayak. Nice review - do you know if you could add a trolling motor on the back. I'm thinking a Bixpy motor with their adapter which would work just like a regular trolling motor setup. Thanks

    Fantastic overview!
    While I am enjoying my new Crescent Crew that I purchased at TGCK, I've had my eye on this for awhile. This seems like the perfect throw-and-go. Shaving off two feet and twenty pounds would be nice. I will be seeing you again in June to add a third kayak to my collection.

    The length and size of this kayak is perfect but they missed it on taking away that big front hatch and hull access and the cubby storage. They need to just build a lite tackle is this size. Then we would finally have a perfect small river and creek fishing boat. Would also like to see a better system for raising the seat up and down and some horizontal rod storage..

    • @squint-
      @squint- Před rokem +1

      @@tgcanoesandkayaks For starters the seat position to be high/low. (Options available for the newer Shoalie and LT2) In the past, a plastic riser was added, now a high seat can be purchased. However, those two options left a high seat position only. The molded in positions would be a great addition.
      Add the front handle track like on the Shoalie for options. I would pay the $49.99 to add the handle system that is on the Shoalie.
      Maybe add something to the stern for a variety of attachments. Something simple, light weight and functional.
      I’m with you though, it’s awesome as it is. However, I would be more than upset for the improved version to be released shortly after purchasing the prior. Ask some LT purchasers that saw the LT2 released shortly after.
      I will hold off buying a CK1. I expect the new improved version to be released soon as well as more additions to the “Specialized Fishing” line. Maybe a CK1 SF. Really excited to see what the future holds.

    I'm 200 to 210lbs.. No rapids in central Florida. Is there that much difference in speed and tracking compared to the Lite Tackle? And, it would seem the weight difference would be noticeable. I'm in my 60's so, not as 'agile' anymore. I'm torn between the two kayaks. I don't plan on camping out so, storage is not an issue. Thanks!

    • @tgcanoesandkayaks
      @tgcanoesandkayaks  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes there is a noticeable deference between the two. Paddling open water, I would go with the LiteTackle (better tracking, speed, and glide) than the CK1.

    • @tgcanoesandkayaks
      @tgcanoesandkayaks  Před 2 lety +2

    Great review as always, Alex! I've been looking to upgrade, and wanted a great paddling boat that isn't too heavy & could be used for fishing & kayak camping. After all my research (which included a few questions to you on CZcams & a 20 minute call to Evelyn), I picked up a used CK1. I absolutely love it! Its a very versatile platform that will do everything I want and more. Best thing about it is that it makes me WANT to paddle!

    Hello, I seen you also reviewed the perception pescador pro 10 within the last year as well? How would this and the pescador pro compare? Durability, stability etc? Would the ck1 be good for primarily lake fishing? I like the ck1 for the open deck since I fly fish alot from a kayak and not alot to snag on. Thanks!

    • @tgcanoesandkayaks
      @tgcanoesandkayaks  Před 2 lety +1

      The Pescador Pro has minimal rocker and is better on flatwater, the CK1 has more rocker and handles rivers and rapids more effectively. I agree, the CK1 has a cleaner deck for throwing line on the deck.

    • @TGCanoe

      @@ProdigiousReturn The seats are about the same. The Pescador has a high/low and the CK1 has a low or, with the riser installed, a high seat. Standing is relative to you. The Pescador Pro 10 is only 32" wide and the CK1 is 34"wide but it has a graduated "V" hull. Both would take talent to actively stand and fish on.

    Would the light tackle 2 handle the rapids as well as the ck1? Is the light tackle playful like the ck1 is? I would be running class 1 and sometimes class2 rapids on a river i like to fish. Just curious which crescent would be the best....

    • @TGCanoe
      @TGCanoe Před rokem +2

      The CK1 is definitely more maneuverable that the LiteTackle. That said, a reasonably skilled kayaker can run the LT down Class I and sneak Class II rapids. When in doubt, portage!
