    Thanks for the video. You are the first to post a video of actually fishing in the Primo. I ordered one and now waiting for the shipment of Crescents to arrive. Looks like a great little kayak.

      I was impressed with it especially for the size and features. It’s very stable for that size boat too. Like anything new, it takes you a moment to get use to the stability, but shortly afterwards you await this big boy stand and paddle upstream in it. lol
      Thanks for watching

    Nice job being the first on the water review of the Primo! I was hoping to be first, but mine hasnt shipped yet. I have the Ultralite, and it is great, but I am getting the Primo for floating shallow streams, and i am liking the dual seating options

      Thanks for watching! I preordered one from H2:4 Outdoors and he called me as soon as it came in.
      I wanted it due to my bad shoulder for car topping. Great investment

      @Itchin2Fish yeah I car top too, and can't even lift the ultralite on, so I just set the bow on the roof, then go to the back and lift and slide it on the rack, works pretty good, though I scuff up the back a bit.

      This was for my wife when she goes, I will eventually get a CK and probably sale the Shoalie. With the CK only being 60 lbs, that’s better for me to Jeep top than the Shoalie.

    Sounds like your creeks & rivers are about like ours up here in SW MO.
    I kind of like in the way the Crescent line looks but don't know which one.
    It doesn't look like there's a one does it all, sort of like buying a dirt bike versus Enduro

    • @Itchin2Fish
      @Itchin2Fish  Před 26 dny +1

      Understandable, just like any kayak out there. There is not a one that fits all.
      In my opinion the CK or LT2 are great. For best all around, I would buy the LT2. Best tracking and stability out of the solo kayaks. For moving, shallow water CK1 which is fine for deep water too, but won’t track as well and get wind blown more. The LT2 is good for lakes too. The only negative, would be the keel does hang up in shallower water but makes up for it in other areas.

    • @Itchin2Fish

      Tracks have been ordered, but I’ve been using the provided bungee by working in and around some secured points. It’s been snug with little to no movement.

    I have an old town 106 pdl that I use to creek fish without the drive and its pretty heavy. It's not great at paddling upstream either. I usually paddle upstream and float back to my truck. I wanted to buy another kayak that would be lighter weight and one that would paddle up the current alot easier. Would you recommend this kayak for that purpose? Is the tracking decent or does it turn when you stop paddling?

    • @Itchin2Fish
      @Itchin2Fish  Před 2 měsíci

      This kayak is so easy paddling up stream. I did it for 2 hours yesterday. I did what you do. Park at a bridge and paddled up. The current was pretty swift. Now as soon as I stopped paddling, I was moving all over the place due to the poor tracking. The nose definitely rocks side to side when padding slower, but when your pace is a little quicker it straightens out a lot better.
      If you get an anchor and run it off the nose, it will help a bunch.
      The kayak is light, easy to carry and easy to paddle upstream. It’s not great at tracking at all, but it’s a fun responsive boat that’s easy to maneuver up and downstream. Tight lines

  • @michaelbrown4420
    @michaelbrown4420 Před 2 měsíci

    How tippy does it feel when paddling? Does it feel steady when you lean to one side or like it wants to rock from side to side easily?

    • @Itchin2Fish
      @Itchin2Fish  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I’m 6’ 240 and feel very comfortable in it. Very stable! I know you saw me stand in it in this video. My recent video where I was fishing for smallies, I was leaning pulling into eddies etc. also stood in it looking for Smallie beds. It almost feels like it’s bigger than it is. With any kayak though, it takes a couple of outings to get the full feel with the primary and secondary stability. I love it!

    • @Itchin2Fish
      @Itchin2Fish  Před 2 měsíci

      Primo will be a little small and tippy. I would recommend the CK, LT or Crew.
      LT and Crew will be most stable with the keel. My dog loved standing on the LT Hatch while riding. lol

    How did it compare to the ultralite?

    • @Itchin2Fish
      @Itchin2Fish  Před 2 měsíci +1

      The UL tracks better with the keel, but for shallow, moving water the Primo is awesome. The Primo moves side to side more when padding, so not as efficient in padding. Most kayaks this size will be like that, but the UL will paddle better than the Primo. The Primo, in my opinion is more stable with some nicer built in feature possibilities. I like the Primo way better, but I hit a lot more moving shallow water vs deep/slow water.

    How is it to stand up in?

    • @Itchin2Fish
      @Itchin2Fish  Před 14 dny +1

      I’m 6’ 232 lbs and I’m able to do it. I stand a lot so I have practice. Once you are up with your feet up against the walls it’s good. Now the LT/Crew are way more stable. It will make it easier if you attach a stand assist strap to help raise and lower yourself. With wind and current, it’s hard to stay straight while standing with the poor tracking.
