This feels like a Season 1 episode, which is a good thing. I love all the seasons, but the earlier ones were all about crazy new ideas and planting plot seeds, so there was more creativity and bizarre happenings. The later seasons spent more time discussing what had been established before, so Night Vale became just a little too "familiar" where nothing could surprise me. I'm eager to see new seeds planted.

Wait, is the Smithwick House supposed to be the house that doesn't exist? The house that seems like it's real and is between two other houses so it would make more sense for it to exist than not, but it doesn't

I am blown away.
Carlos says that something like this happened four years ago, and that he already studied it; this episode came out four years after First Date, in which Carlos tells Cecil to mention a strange hole that may appear in people’s houses. And now, on Spotify at least, they’ve rereleased this episode during their July break; four years after the episode originally came out. I don’t know if this was intentional, but it probably was, knowing this show. The continuity and attention to detail here is so great, and I just wanted to point out something I saw :)
A bit late to the party but I think almost everyone missed the obvious. Cecil said this kind of disappearences never happen in their small boring town, because he has been re-educated! He remembers the ordeal with the council wrong.
Note to self when I'm arrested in Nightvale, just ask about city councils relationship.

Why is Cecil so confused by a mere mysterious disappearance? Those happen all the time in Night Vale.
Disappearances may be frequent, but some of them are more worrying than others. Remember when Carlos was "missing" in the desert other world?
I remember thinking to myself “this story sounds familiar, but like I heard it so long ago” and then Carlos said this had already happened. I feel relief

The groom is going to be in purples tones fading to black. The Lady will have Orange tones fading to white. She's more of a Desert Bluffs girl. It's not ideal but no Bride is perfect. They become perfect when you learn to accept them for who they are.
I'll have Radio Interns and she'll have Strex Inc. employees. My interns will be clad in the red intern attire and her employees will covered in red, drenched really. Just gallons and gallons of red all over those employees. It'll be glorious.

Wow! Great episode. The whole Smithwick story was very reminiscent of House of Leaves, one of the creepiest and best books I've ever read. Anyone who likes Night Vale would surely love this book!
