Everyone seems to have concluded that the ants liked the Coca-Cola because it has more sugar. Actually, it has less sugar. But it tastes sweeter than Pepsi when flat, because it has more salt. The ants preferred Pepsi at the start because it was less carbonated, making it sweeter.
I saw some science question in middle school that showed ants like salty food more than sweet food; no idea if it was accurate since it was a school question, but interesting none the less.
And whats funny is that this makes sense outside of ants as well. Pepsi was made to be drinken cold and out of the fridge, while Coke was made to be drank warm and (likely) flat. The reason for this is that Coke was made before refrigerators were common household objects, and Pepsi was not.

Absolutely brilliant this is the sort of video I love as I often spend ages watching ants when I in my garden . Running back and forth over the paving sometimes hauling crumbs from my biscuit 🤣. The close up photography here is wonderful.
It's not about having enough force to break through the surface tension, but rather the fact that the surface will just move out of the way where the ant tries to apply its force because of the tension. Try pinching a sufficiently inflated and large balloon between two fingers. As you try to move your fingers in place the surface is pushed away by those fingers not leaving anything to pinch anymore. So, I agree that surface tension might play a role in an ant's decision to take on one or the other droplet.

The ants might've also preferred the liquid with a lower surface tension that's easier to break through.
С силой, применив которую, они могут поднять вес в 50 раз больше своего, для них этот слой жидкости как воздух, по моему мнению.
They lile whichever one went smallest first because that's the one with more surface area vs volume and therefore evaporates faster leaving more sugar percentage meaning its more desirable to the ants
plot twist: He named the 2 drops oppositely.
Ants are one of my favorite critters, lol. Very intelligent and strong. I love watching them. This was interesting.
I feel like this video is gonna blow up someday
Thanks and...hope so
Very funny idea☝️🤣
It's so cute when the ants give some juice for the other ants
Loved how the ants shared most people don’t even do that so precious
I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords :)
If i had a pizza 10x bigger than me id probably share it too

If i ever drop just a lil sweet water, whole ant team just oof my room 💀
I love how the ants can put their tiny little legs on pepsi/coke droplets without sinking in that made it look like some kind of airbag. they can probably walk on the top of pepsi/coke droplets without sinking too.
Verdade
Pay close attention you can see their abdomens grow larger as they drink. I don’t think people could tell the difference if not for a magnified view

Ant: I’ll take a coke
“Is Pepsi ok?”
Ant: *sigh* “yes”
no coke...pepsi
@@engrownhare2427 No
Coca Cola
Um... excuse me?
Coca Colaa ayayyayayaya
The middle one in thumbnail thought me he is in a diet😅
I like how the ants spit out the sodas in the end.
It should be done with more drops of each one. I mean, you should put like 10 separate drops of Pepsi and 10 of Coke and see if they drink all the Coke first or if it's 50-50.
