    Claude J Greengrass was hilarious, I loved his nervous twitch when he knew he was doing something mischievous.
    Bill Maynard made him into such a loveable rogue of a character.

    He was a great actor, not just the heartbeat series, there was other stuff he did and was just as good in those. RIP Bill Maynard.

      He was great, full of character he was, sadly missed. I noticed alot of the Heartbeat DVDs, particularly the later series are quite expensive to buy, but that doesn't bother me as I prefer the Nick Berry series couldn't stand the later series with Vernon, Bernie and David, plus I think I have nearly every single original broadcast on tape anyway:). I will try and upload another interview with Bill on GMTV which was in 1994, but the tape recording is very jumpy; I have it on my computer but it's too unwatchable to upload so I'll have to get round to doing a better capture (hopefully a good video will be able to track it). I will also upload another GMTV interview with Nick Berry where he is on location in Canada for that Heartbeat special he did in 1998.

      @@andrewcrouch2362 No worries, I can talk loads about Heartbeat, me and my late father were big fans of the show and we used to watch and tape all the episodes, even when I lost interest in the series after Greengrass left my dad continued to watch it as he loved the show being set in the 60s, the main appeal for him being the classic cars, the steam trains, that beautiful NYM countryside and the music. We were glued to HB throughout the 90s and we would often travel all the way from Lancashire to Otley where they filmed the police station and police house and to Goathland with the intention of trying to catch them filming but we never got very lucky apart from one occasion in June 1996 where we watched them filming scenes at the police house where Nick meets his London pal Errol after he's done a runner. But apart from that (and two occasions in 2008) that's the only time we got lucky. There was also one time when my dad got wind of Bill Maynard being at the hotel at the back of the Aidensfield garage, but he was gutted when he got there that he had just missed him and he'd gone back up to his room.
      Glad you liked the video, will try and upload the other one hopefully soon. The other video about Nick Berry in Canada also features an interview with him in the GMTV studio before he started filming Harbour Lights.

      @@andrewcrouch2362 Just uploaded another two Heartbeat related videos, one with Nick Berry in the GMTV studio, and the other of Bill Maynard on GMTV in about 1994 (managed to get a better transfer of it this time). I will also try and upload the GMTV Canadian special behind the scenes which was shown in Jan 1998, but I will have to edit it slightly to remove any music that may get a copyright strike from YT. I also have a Family Fortunes special where they have a few cast HB cast members vs Peak Practice, but the rec is only partly on, plus I think there's a 10 Years of Heartbeat special I have, but that's probably already on YT somewhere.

    • @Embracing01
      @Embracing01  Před rokem

      He was great and so was Heartbeat but not the later series IMO, just went on too long, too much silliness, boring characters and PCs, not enough of that realistic 1960s feel, awful acting by the guest actors (well I suppose it's always been like that from day one) and no Greengrass or Nick. I've seen a few old TV guide reviews of the show back in the day where the likes of the Radio and TV Times seemed to hate it for some reason. I'd rather watch HB than all the modern morbid, wrist slitting crap that's on TV now, most of it is just pure propaganda and mind control. Yes HB was corny and the 60s was probably not really like that even in a small North Yorkshire village, but it was something you watch and enjoy without having woke crap shoved in your face.

    and you watch that last episode and he is virtually sat in every scene whether he's in the truck or not i don't know i expect its a double because long shot and the pub scene he's on a bar stool. probably the pub scene was filmed first. unless he can get upon a bar stool.
