      I agree, although looking back it was quite corny and unrealistic, but I suppose the soaps are like that too. TV now is just full of of morbid, woke-driven crime dramas, ITV is full of them, who they appeal to I've no idea. Heartbeat is being shown on ITV3, they are upto series 7 at the moment.

      @@ianburrell9116 Yeah I've been recording them too on ITV3. I have most of the original episodes from when they were first broadcast on ITV, but most of the recordings have suffered badly over the years through tape wear or dust. I prefer the ITV/3 broadcasts over the DVD versions as they use the original songs. Woke is everywhere on TV now not just the BBC.

      @@megancoslett1888 It's being shown on Drama?. I haven't noticed that, though I admit I don't watch alot of TV now. As far as I'm aware the early series is being shown on ITV3 as it normally is shown on, they are upto series 9 or 10 now when Greengrass was still in it. I know they did shown the earlier series on the now defunct ITV Encore channel that was pay only service, but don't think they went past series 4, and UKGold once showed series 1-4 back in the early 2000s as I recorded a few eps from UKGold (which were cut), but I don't think they went past series 4. Also ITV showed the early series throughout the 90s and mid 2000s during the daytime.

      No worries. I did edit the video abit though as there was some music and so didn't want to get a copyright strike, unlikely that would be. In the Tricia Penrose interview I removed the bit where she sings a cover of Baby Love. I wonder if the lady who owned the house back then still owns it now. I never knew they started using a studio for the interior of the house after series 5.

      She seems to have vanished. According to IMDB she never did anything after Heartbeat and moved to France to be with her boyfriend, so it wasn't just Nick Berry that wanted to leave. Apparently she was born in America.

    Apparently, according to IMDB, Juliette Gruber who played Jo has done nothing since Heartbeat. According to IMDB she left to be with her boyfriend in France, so she has pretty much disappeared. She was born in the U.S and moved to the UK in the 60s and is a niece of the actor Walter Matthau apparently.

    I was just looking through some old TV listings from December of 1996, and on the 17th Dec ITV showed a one-off drama with Nick Berry called Respect where he plays a boxer. I do not remember Nick Berry appearing in any other TV programme or drama during the time he was in Heartbeat, only after leaving Heartbeat he starred in Harbour Lights and a crime drama with Stephen Tomkinson. I'm guessing this drama has long been forgotten about and has probably never been repeated. Anyone remember this boxing drama?.

      @@user-kl4bh4lq6r It could've been better or been made into a series. I don't see the point in one-off dramas unless it's based on real events. I think either "Respect" or the other one-off drama he starred in, Paparazzo, did get repeated as I came across it in some of the listings I have. It was probably shown on UKGold as well as some point.

    Only just discovered Nick Berry also starred in another one-off drama in 1995 called "Paparazzo" playing a photographer named Rick Kaulker. Looks like yet another one of Berry's roles that has probably never been repeated and been forgotten about. Why don't ITV or the other channels that make these productions ever repeat them, why are they only ever shown the once?. How did he manage to find the time to work on these productions when still involved in Heartbeat?. He supposedly wanted to leave to be with his family and hated being away from them, yet still did other TV roles in-between.

    I wonder if the owner Deb or any of the other occupants of the houses actually recorded any of the filming on their cameras or video cameras?. I find it hard to believe that the owner of that house never once filmed any of the crew filming on their property, or even had photos taken the cast. Would be nice if she did to upload the footage, but I can't see that ever happening, looks like the kind of village that keep themselves to themselves. I wonder if any of them actually watched the episodes?.

      @Embracing01  Před rokem

      I never noticed that but thanks for pointing that out. Wouldn't surprise me he was upset, Heartbeat lost something important I think when she left, it lost the medical storyline which kinda gelled Nick and Kate together - Nick being the bobby husband and Kate being the Dr wife, and often they helped each other out at times with Kate wanting to know information from Nick, obviously in real life that would be a breach of confidentiality, plus the name "Heart" related (not sure if intentional) to the medical side and "Beat" meaning bobby on the beat/police. Not sure if the original characters in Nicholas Rhea's books were written as a dr and constable, but I think they weren't named Nick and Kate.

      @Embracing01  Před 3 lety +5

      I agree. I think her character was the backbone so to speak of the series being the village doctor and Nick being her police constable husband, so they made a great couple and helped to provide the medical and police storylines. But I suppose if she wanted to leave to have a child then that was her choice, but it would've been nice to have her do one or maybe two more series.

I thought that when Kate and Nick were about to drift appart could be another solution to her exit. But then, we wouldn't get to know little cute Katie either.

      I've wondered the same. I get the feeling she doesn't and the house has had a different owner since this interview. The area looks a very peaceful and idyllic place, something where I would expect house prices in the half a million price bracket. Would love to live in a place like that, but sadly will be beyond my kind of money. I have a few home video recordings of the police house and the pub opposite (originally called the Black Horse) and some brief footage of the police station in Otley taken in the mid-late 90s. @@davidmayman6707 Hi, do you know why they started to film the interior of the house in a studio?. Was it because the owner of the house didn't want the TV production to film inside anymore or was it down to production wanting a studio set with more room?. Also, I noticed in the later series that the police house is completely different (as in the episode where the house blows up), but I'm not sure if it was supposed to be the same house on screen and Aidensfield police decided to move whoever was living in it at the time to a new police house, or was it because the owner of the house of the production not wanting to use the original location anymore and they had to find another house?. I noticed this also with the police station which was in Otley, in the later series you see large blue gates at the front of the courtyard where there wasn't any in the earlier series, and it looks like a different building. Maybe whoever owns that building (which was actually a magistrates) wouldn't allow the production to film there anymore and they find somewhere else.

    Wish more men looked like Nick Berry, he certainly had good looks, and also his character represented the clean cut, nice guy next door type, polite but shy that don't exist anymore. Just look at the so called men today with their stupid unkempt grubby viking beards hanging from their big chins and arms full of tattoos and all overweight, men just look grotesque today, and to think that women actually like men like that lol. Only thing that let Nick down was his height, quite a short person. He had a good head of hair and still has but gone grey now.
