Honestly one of the best mashups you've ever done. Most people go overboard with making their St. Anger style songs sound intentionally ugly, but you're 100% accurate with both the plus & negatives of Metallica's early 2000's style.
The best part about this is the fact that you made it seemingly never-ending. That’s just pure attention to detail.

This version of Fuel is not about drag racing, it's about road rage! I think most songs on St Anger are brilliant, if only people saw what's going on behind the snare, I believe the snare makes the songs sound more aggressive
I love the snare in st anger, I don’t give if everyone talk shit on it, was a experiment to look more modern or near nu metal, remind me some Korn. My favorite lp are Load and Reload cause they show they can do a great rock song (I prefer the Metallica rock than the thrash)

I was never a big fan of the original fuel, but I actually really really like this. Vocals sound weird, but not much you can do when the guitars are downtuned

Sweet Amber is one of my favorites, but I doubt we'll ever get an actual remake on Justice because there are no isolated vocal tracks from St. Anger as far as I know, only for Frantic.

Awesome work dude. As someone who does some mixing (with reaper), I understand how irritating pitch shifting vocals are for these types of projects, and how hard it is to get them to sound right, so props to you my guy for making this track sound awesome 👌
Ever held a tuner up to pitch-shifter in reaper and cross matched or transposed it that way? I've done it that way for guitar but the same principal should apply for vocals.

Ableton has a great pitch shifting algo called complex pro for warping clips. It allows you to adjust the formants to prevent the chipmunk or the unnaturally deep vocal sound. For more control, I know of a cool plugin called Flux IRCAM Trax that allows very detailed vocal timbre manipulation. Expensive but worth it if you do this kind of thing professionally.

IDK why people hate St.Anger it has killer riffs, apart from the poor choice in the snare, the drums are actually Lars' top 5 drumming. Also the vocals are crazy and the lyrics on most songs are very awesome. I'd say the problem is that a few of the songs are too long and that there are no solos.

Well, Reload was kind of over-produced and then st-anger is the extrem opposite, which I understand that it could be dissapointing for the fans.
I don't like how in almost every song lyrics are repeating the same thing over and over.
Also, listen to it loud, and on a decent stereo or set of ear phones. It needs to feel like the music is surrounding the listener, as the album was intended to capture the whole garage vibe that the band experienced while jamming at the time. Its basically spontaneous moments pieced together to make songs.. Worth a revisit.

Technically there is wah on St. Anger. The intro of All Within My Hands and Shoot Me Again do have wah on them with just dead notes. But the rest is just heavy, meaty, chuggy, brutal, and fatty riffs and AJFA kind of drumming which isn't that noticeable behind the snare sound which I kind of like.
I love listening to the St. Anger stuff you post, keep it up.

I'm digging this and glad that you're 'experimenting' with other album cross-overs. This is top-notch reimagination... and very accurate! While St Anger is the weakest of their albums I am still a fan and think it would have been a great if the songs were trimmed and had solos. I love metal and hard rock so for me it would have been cool. For pure metalheads it would still be a hard no tho ;)
