Cecil is a much better person in the series than the comics, and while purists might not like change, I think it makes him a better, and more compelling character.
How is he like in the comics, fam?
Cecil is a very compelling character in the comic as well. The whole point is that he does what is necessary for the safety of the planet
@@victuz he's pretty similar in the broad strokes, but he's a lot colder and more determined. Both Cecils would make a lot of the same decisions in the big picture, but show Cecil visibly feels conflicted at times, offers sympathy to others, and is slightly less aggressive as an immediate response.
Show Cecil feels like a man who knows he's a monster and doesn't want to be. Comic Cecil feels like a man who knows he's a monster and doesn't have the energy to spare on contemplating that anymore. The latter is probably a touch more realistic, but the former will make us all the more conflicted when he does something really terrible as he almost certainly will.
wait isn't the person who made the comics also in charge of the show? So does it really matter what the purist thinks?

That said, I think most people agree the show changes are largely improvements.

A friend (former) told me that they saw a bit of themselves in Amber. I replied by telling them not to hesitate when they next consider offing themselves. I've since blocked them.

I really respect how Cecil doesnt really push the Protector thing, he really has next to no one he can ask, yet he knows pushing the matter will make things worse
0:30 I feel like Cecil _wanted_ that answer, for Mark to not be sure -- because at least then it's honest, it shows that he understands the gravity and burden being a hero possesses. So Mark can either say no and Cecil won't have to worry, or he'll say he's not sure and Cecil will know that he's going to try to do the right thing.
Because if Mark said "yes" without any hesitation, it's a red flag -- that he's not taking the situation seriously, or has the wrong goals in mind.

Note: I’m aware Omni-Man’s family were not truly nothing to him, but this is the realization she’s having in this moment on top of the realization of her husband’s capacity to commit the level of carnage he did.

In the comics, she develops a drinking problem after this. This might sound like a bit of a spoiler, but it actually just gets dropped without ceremony. Not sure if the show will decide to do anything with it.

I know that Mark is slightly levitating probably because of his sore body, but when I first saw the scene I felt like he was propping himself up, emotionally speaking.

After everything Mark has been through, I’d not have let her just run up and dictate when she can and can’t kiss me. He should have pushed her away and gave her the same “easy tiger” line she gave him earlier in the series.

i cant stop looking at cecil and thinking he looks like jerry from totally spies, im probably the only one who remembers the show from watching almost all the episodes, that and martin mystery were my favorite.

Wonder how he could see Cecil and his own body if the light was causing things to be invisible.
Maybe the light is normal white light (contains all frequencies) and everything in that room is sprayed with a chemical that only allows the frequency mentioned to be absorbed. Then when he called for lights, the lights turn to a light that causes that chemical to fluoresce with all the colours that that substance had previously absorbed.
Or the writers just made a mistake, but that sounds unlikely...

Because he can only see so far in front of him without the lights off. We don't see people around us, we see the light that bounces off of them. The light bouncing off of mark and Cecil are within the visible spectrum but outside of what the white room blinds you to. Everything else is under the rooms effect. This is consistent with the comics when the white room was used.
The room is BS is why. Even if the room is somehow invisible in certain frequencies of light, that doesn't explain the room becoming silent when the "lights" are off.
Because this strengths of this show are all in the characters and if you ask questions about any of the combat, powers, or qsuedoscience on display it all falls apart pretty quickly. It's by no means necessary for a comic story but this is one that really isn't going to put much thought into things beyond "It would be cool if blank happened"

Man every time i see another trailer I want to re read the comics again.
0:25 I know its not painful for Mark but I hate watching anyone rip out IV's I'm horrified of sticken them in and it would be REALLY painful just to rip it out. one time a nurse had to insert it 10 times because she couldn't get at the vein right. (no offense to other nurses but was definitely painful)

Why? Omniman is perfectly capable of doing that and is not a villain, he's misguided but changes course to be better

Here's the thing about the white room (never read the comics, don't know its official name) that doesn't make sense, many people in America don't drink tap water.
Well they arent allowed in the facility in the first place so it doesnt matter

@@timyuusis3372 There are some places where tap water is literally a medical hazard to drink, like areas where fracking occurs, which is one of the reasons its considered bad. In those areas, people can't drink the tap water. If they've never left the area, then they probably never drank tap water.
Also: I doubt whatever they put in the tap water stays in your system for life, after only drinking it once. They probably need people to constantly consume whatever it is for it to work.
@@shootingcomet082 to be fair a lot of bottled water in the USA is from tap water just filtered and some minerals added. So FDA could easily mandate some kind of substance to be added for water to be sold in the stores.
Only downside I see to this scene is him leaving his mother to cry....I get that her grief as a wife may be different than that of a sons, but i'd be damned if I let my mother cry alone.

Im really interested at there take on s2 for the most part its been comic accurate certain things and situations were switched up like the mars mission happened a lot earlier so interested to see everything else
the first few issues of the comics were very rushed, it went from the Omni-Man reveal instantly to when he is exposed, so most likely season 2 will focus solely on Omni-Man changing.
