I love 2 things about Damien's effects 1) that the room he enters always gets chilly 2) And that it's like he is always there, just invisible to people oblivious of his existance

In this particular case, throughout Season One almost everyone's question and concern is, Why did Omni-Man do this? Does he have a good excuse, a justification? Damien Darkblood's position is that it doesn't matter. Nolan's act was evil, that makes him evil, and evil must be exposed and punished if justice is to be served.

I think Cecil getting rid of Darkblood was a major mistake. Omniman seems generally spooked by him and it seems that without his true name he cant really die only be removed from our plane by an exorcism of sorts. Exactly the type of thing you need against someone like Omniman

I believe a series starring Darkblood could be very interesting, but he'd need to be paired with another regular character who's his polar opposite, someone normal, upbeat, and more balanced in attitude.

The existence of one metaphysical parallel plane of existence doesn't necessarily prove the existence of another specific metaphysical plane, even if the two planes are symbolically tied together through common mythological roots. And if heavenly dimensions do exist in that universe, why are the angels allowing something like three dozen different evil alien empires to conquer, enslave, and destroy inhabited planets?

Dark blood is probably one of the few beings that unnerve Omni-Man, he’s an entity that even Omni-Man will never truly understand, and a look at what he might face when death reaches him.
The thing about Darkblood is that he cannot be bought, he can't be intimated and you can't change his mind. If you have blood on your hands, he's coming for your ass no matter what you do.

I like to think that line is foreshadowing the war against the Viltrumites. We know that Cecil is a man who does care for people, but is pragmatic enough to go to any length to protect humanity, no matter how unethical it can be. When shit starts to hit the fan, what measures will Cecil have to take in order to protect Earth? It will be his own personal Hell.
Why does everyone in Invincible hate Damien Darkblood? He's the reason why Omni-Man was discovered to be a villain in the first place. He deserves respect and credit and was helpful throughout the investigation.

So nobody finds it weird that the killer left just one guy barely alive when he wanted to kill all of them? I think that fact alone would've made things way easier.
What America Chavez said. Him being the sole survivor and how efficiently the Guardians were killed certainly means it's at least a possibility in one's head that Nolan was the killer, but the brutalised state Nolan was in makes it also seem likely (especially since everyone trusted Nolan) that Nolan was also a victim of the attack who survived solely by the fact that he's the strongest being on Earth.
I'd bet good money Cecil suspected the truth from the start. It's why he came down so hard on Darkblood to drop the investigation. He guessed where it would lead, and how badly Omni-Man would react. Cecil needed time to prepare for that.

I know this is a video Damien Darkblood, but every interaction with Cecil(and by extension Donald) makes me realize why humans are bad ass enough to stand up to Omni-Man and the rest of the Viltrumite Empire. Sheer determination and will in front of an impossible situation. To be human is to fight to survive.
It's a classic convention in a lot of fiction, that a few people understand how terrifying the universe really is outside of the mundane world the rest of us live in, and are brave and determined enough to strive in the shadows to protect us from it.

In these universes, Humans are basically the "hold my beer, I got this" folk. They'll try crazy shit, nearly kill everyone in the process and still walk away thinking "we gotta try that again..." You think they have these sort of problems on planets such as Flaxan?
5:34 such an amazing scene but this line got me really rooting for Damien. He feels like the only person who genuinely creeped out Nolan even if only a little.
I think Cecil knew exactly who killed the Guardians as soon as he saw the scene. What he needed to know was why Nolan did it and what he planned to do next. Darkblood was threatening to expose Nolan as the killer but Cecil was, by his own admission, playing for time. So long as he kept up the charade of "looking for the killer" he could keep an eye on Nolan and find a way of stopping him. He even tried to communicate to Darkblood that he was in over his head but the Demon Detective didn't listen. Tough break, but he was given a chance to listen.
I wouldn't say the Demon detective was in over his head he was just to good at his job making him a threat to everyone, Cecil said he needed to keep things gray to buy time but Damien only saw things as black and white

The character is more of a reimagining of The Question than anything. Sure he supeficially looks like Hellboy, but he's closer to Etrigan in backstory and what not. He's also more of a Question parody than a Rorshack parody because Rorshack was far too much of a bigoted misanthrope.

There’s something about Damien’s outfit that intrigues me. Under the coat it looks like he’s wearing a jumpsuit a technology based civilisation would use. This makes me think that perhaps hell in Invincible isn’t just a brimstone fire location completely supernatural but may in fact also have hyper advanced technology or uses energy mistaken for magic, kind of like Hell from Doom
My theory on his white suit and the white mesh on his head (shown when he removes his hat) is that it allows Damian Darkblood to travel to the human realm. Would explain why he always has it on.

Just because there is a parallel metaphysical plane of existence that looks like hell, and is populated by creatures that look like demons, does not mean that the modern American evangelical deffinitions and conception of hell are accurate. All they've established in the show is that there is a place demons come from and there are ancient magic rituals designed to combat demons because humans alive five thousand years ago didn't like demons. They didn't prove that human souls go to hell when they die, and they didn't establish the existence of heaven or god.

Since they're upgrading characters like this, I hope Omnipotus gets an upgrade too. He could even be directly or indirectly responsible for Dark Blood's return by damaging the barriers between dimensions.
Cecil being angry at Darkblood for insinuating Omni-Man was the killer is very well done. He doesn’t want to believe it, but also doesn’t want to rule it out. And being scared if the public, worse...Omni-Man finds out. The same fear Batman has about Superman. Like Cecil said, he wants to keep things grey.

i love everything about this guy. the stepping into scene from behind things, the cold air announcing his presence, the terse speech pattern, the sound of his claws clicking as he walks around, it all makes for a good character
He just gave Cecil the facts, but the conclusion is obvious. And from the way Cecil reacted he'd clearly thought of the possibility himself, and how badly things could turn out if that became public knowledge.
Without Cecils intervention, Dark blood would have HAUNTED Nolans home with impunity. You can't run from him, you can't keep him out. Damian Darkblood is a terrifying enemy.
If the scp foundation existed in their universe (which im sure something like the foundation does exist in their universe, maybe a different name) im sure cecil would have alot of affiliation with them given his status and intellegence. The existence of a metaphysical plane in the first place is already mythological in nature so to conclude that a "heaven" or something similar exists is logical.

Dark blood is probably one of the few beings that unnerve Omni-Man, he’s an entity that even Omni-Man will never truly understand, and a look at what he might face when death reaches him.
The thing about Darkblood is that he cannot be bought, he can't be intimated and you can't change his mind. If you have blood on your hands, he's coming for your ass no matter what you do.

I like to think that line is foreshadowing the war against the Viltrumites. We know that Cecil is a man who does care for people, but is pragmatic enough to go to any length to protect humanity, no matter how unethical it can be. When shit starts to hit the fan, what measures will Cecil have to take in order to protect Earth? It will be his own personal Hell.

Why does everyone in Invincible hate Damien Darkblood? He's the reason why Omni-Man was discovered to be a villain in the first place. He deserves respect and credit and was helpful throughout the investigation.

Cecil explained himself pretty well, he KNEW Nolan did it, but he pretty much had to pretend to believe him so he still had the element of surprise. And he couldn't tell Darkblood that he knew because Darkblood, being poetic, might've revealed the information to Nolan as he did earlier "your wife doesn't believe you, how long until your son doesn't?" could've easily included Cecil suspicion.
Cecil's organization doesn't seem to have the resources to stop Nolan or they need to know if there's a bigger threat. While its fucked up, and i hope Darkblood comes back, poltically the right move was to banish Darkblood because staying on Nolan's good side is more important.

I think that fact alone would've made things way easier.
What America Chavez said. Him being the sole survivor and how efficiently the Guardians were killed certainly means it's at least a possibility in one's head that Nolan was the killer, but the brutalised state Nolan was in makes it also seem likely (especially since everyone trusted Nolan) that Nolan was also a victim of the attack who survived solely by the fact that he's the strongest being on Earth.
in the comics they already knew that nolan's reason on earth was most likely a lie, and they knew it was him on their own
I'd bet good money Cecil suspected the truth from the start. It's why he came down so hard on Darkblood to drop the investigation. He guessed where it would lead, and how badly Omni-Man would react. Cecil needed time to prepare for that.

I like it for that reason alone, personally. Makes him look more human with the hat on but when he takes it off, makes him look less humanoid and more something 'other', especially with the jump suit thing. What personally annoyed me was when he was in his office with his hat on. Like who wears their hat indoors in the comfort of their own space?
I love Darkblood's speech patterns and his minimal use of words. Really adds to his persona.
I liked that he left his pocket book in the closet as soon as he heard Cecils teleportation in the event something should happen to him.

I know this is a video Damien Darkblood, but every interaction with Cecil(and by extension Donald) makes me realize why humans are bad ass enough to stand up to Omni-Man and the rest of the Viltrumite Empire. Sheer determination and will in front of an impossible situation. To be human is to fight to survive.
It's a classic convention in a lot of fiction, that a few people understand how terrifying the universe really is outside of the mundane world the rest of us live in, and are brave and determined enough to strive in the shadows to protect us from it.

I think Cecil knew exactly who killed the Guardians as soon as he saw the scene. What he needed to know was why Nolan did it and what he planned to do next. Darkblood was threatening to expose Nolan as the killer but Cecil was, by his own admission, playing for time. So long as he kept up the charade of "looking for the killer" he could keep an eye on Nolan and find a way of stopping him. He even tried to communicate to Darkblood that he was in over his head but the Demon Detective didn't listen. Tough break, but he was given a chance to listen.
I wouldn't say the Demon detective was in over his head he was just to good at his job making him a threat to everyone, Cecil said he needed to keep things gray to buy time but Damien only saw things as black and white

The character is more of a reimagining of The Question than anything. Sure he supeficially looks like Hellboy, but he's closer to Etrigan in backstory and what not. He's also more of a Question parody than a Rorshack parody because Rorshack was far too much of a bigoted misanthrope.
There are echoes of several other characters in Damien Darkblood, but he's a unique, distinctive, and very cool character in his own right.
Cecil can really use Darkblood to find Nolan's weakness instead of banishing Darkblood back to hell.
If he didn't banish him though Darkblood could have told the world the truth much earlier. Who knows what Nolan would have done then?

There’s something about Damien’s outfit that intrigues me. Under the coat it looks like he’s wearing a jumpsuit a technology based civilisation would use. This makes me think that perhaps hell in Invincible isn’t just a brimstone fire location completely supernatural but may in fact also have hyper advanced technology or uses energy mistaken for magic, kind of like Hell from Doom

@@FriedHedgehogBalls The only logical explanation I find is that there is a hell but not much is known of how it works, and probably just borned demons live there.
Just because there is a parallel metaphysical plane of existence that looks like hell, and is populated by creatures that look like demons, does not mean that the modern American evangelical deffinitions and conception of hell are accurate.
All they've established in the show is that there is a place demons come from and there are ancient magic rituals designed to combat demons because humans alive five thousand years ago didn't like demons. They didn't prove that human souls go to hell when they die, and they didn't establish the existence of heaven or god.

i love everything about this guy. the stepping into scene from behind things, the cold air announcing his presence, the terse speech pattern, the sound of his claws clicking as he walks around, it all makes for a good character

Cecil's face at 7:12, when viewed at 720p, looked absolutely horrifying. Like he's a demon or some mummified man.
Imagine how much worse the situation would've been without Darkblood. He smelt a rat from a mile away before Cecil or anybody else did.
