I love the symmetry and progression that occurs in how these scenes are composed. In the first encounter, when Invincible is outmatched by Allen, when they sit down, Allen pulls up a rock for himself and a smaller rock for Invincible, looking down on him. Then in the next encounter, Invincible pulls up a rock for Allen that is the same size and they sit eye(s) to eye. It is good symbolism to show how far Mark has progressed during the season, from ignorance to familiarity with the ugly truth. I hope the next season keeps up the stellar quality of the first.

Some details that go unnoticed in the fight are Allens remark on the moon and hitting Mark towards the planet after he knocked the air out of him, they show him trying to help his presummed test taker pass his test and give pointers on fights to make him a better fighter against a real invader, remember hes here evaluating "Uraths" defender.

“Welp. Sucks to be you, then.”
“Where else do you keep your brain?”
“…what is high school?”
I love him. I LOVE him. I LOVE HIM.
Edit:
“You biclops all look the same to me.”
“Hoooly shit, you’re a Viltrumite?”
“On my planet, a sock on the door means somebody’s fucking.”
I still love him.
Steven Yeun sounded like he had to hold back laughing after angerly screaming "URATH?!"
I´ve never been a fan of Seth Rogen in part because he basically plays himself in like 98% of the movies he´s been in, but he´s actually quite brilliant in here.
3:32 "of course I know him, he's me"
2:53 In my opinion, best quote of the season
Allen is actually one of my favorite characters alongside Mark and Eve.
"What's the plan in the meantime?"
"...Finish highschool, I guess."
"Oh. Alright, good. Sounds good."
"What is highschool?"
Why they are unknown to the term “School” ??
@@tarunpandey8339 he said he was born in a breeding camp. I think he was raised in a different environment.
“The fact it’s just a small part of something larger makes it all seems more manageable”
Don’t worry about that Mark, soon enough, things are gonna get even crazier
So how many times did allen fight omni man already?
he’s been going to Earth for 15 years
@@rartedtard4236 all those times omni man didnt kill him? Wonder why.
@@sylvestersinead2663 Allen is tough.
@@sylvestersinead2663 allen is much stronger than omni man the writers said Allen could take on Thragg
@@imsplitz3401 I mean he can but I think that is after he got the power ups. I think he is equal to Nolan before he got his upgrade
The funny thing is based on how he performs later in the comic, Allen is basically just kinda having fun here
To be fair, there is a massive power difference between him before and after the Viltriums hospitalized him.
Alen here does have his power-up yet.
He needs his powerup
He was just testing, not going all out.
@@WhiteWhistleBondrewd exactly, killing or permanently injuring the champion of a planet would be a dick move, specially if they are not strong enough to protect their planet already XD
1:30 Allen menacingly sprinting at the camera with zero sound effects is probably the funniest part of this season
the second conversation they have makes me think alot about what could happen in season 2, can't wait
I'd genuinely watch a show just about Allen
Imagine the conversation mark had with Cecal and Nolan about why Allen’s been showing up over the years
I've always loved how chill Allen is. He beats the shit out of Mark and is like, "you need a timeout man? sure bro, no problem."
If I had a nickel for every time Seth Rogen played a one eyed character, I’d have two nickels.
I guess Invincible and Allen are going to get along very well fighting against the viltrumite army
idk why but allen the alien is such a vibe of a character. hes funny but doesn't try too hard to be funny
I hope we get to see more of Allen going forward, he seems pretty nice. I like him.
Oh boy if you knew 🤣
Uncle Allen
Seth Rogen was PERFECT as this character, can’t wait to see him come back in Season 2!
Bro didn’t deserve to go out like that In S2 e3 😭
For real 😨After that episode. Now I'm glad Megatron stabbed Optimus Prime thru the heart in Revenge of the Fallen! To hell with Prime😭😭😭
He isn't dead and he gets stronger the more damage he undergoes
0:30 Millions of people: “Uhhh what happened to the TV?”
Well whaddya know, Seth Rogen is voicing another one-eyed character, after B.O.B. from Monsters vs. Aliens (2009)!
Wait, what
And another alien explorer after Paul
Can’t wait to see his development of character for the next season!
Allen is like an older brother to Mark
Allen is so wholesome
The Earth/Urath bit, + the one eye makes this feel straight out of Futurama
im somehow convinced his large eyebrow has a bone of its own
I love having a voice to these characters while reading the comics
Donkey Kong talking to Mario 0:11
0:06 he even does his forward air
0:34
Mark: “Why can I hear you in my head?”
Allen: “Where else do you keep your brain?”
Fav Allen line
Allen is the goat he's so awkward yet so confident at the same time
They have a brotherly interaction. I think Allen could be a great brother figure to mark
4:00 given how Allen’s people rebelled against the Viltrumites, I can assume Omniman’s envisioned route for Earth, to “end wars and share technology with the Viltrumites,” is just a sugarcoated way to say “oppression.” I like to know how exactly the Viltrumites treat their conquered territories.
0:30 Fuck… There goes HBO again…
This guy was great, probably my favorite character.
His mistake about not knowing there is a viltrumite on Earth reminds me of Gandalf not knowing the ring of power was in the Shire.
I love Allen. He reminds me of Wally West Flash from Justice League
Allen in the show: 😁👍
Allen in the comics: 👹👹
I can't wait for oliver, the viltrumite war, the invincible war, the whole rex situation and of course terra and marky
I just finished this book man I seriously cannot believe the ride this show is going to be WOW !
So Allen clashed with Omni-man before and lived. Mad respect for this guy, his race must be pretty tough.
he was an experiment
Some details that go unnoticed in the fight are Allens remark on the moon and hitting Mark towards the planet after he knocked the air out of him, they show him trying to help his presummed test taker pass his test and give pointers on fights to make him a better fighter against a real invader, remember hes here evaluating "Uraths" defender.
I don't know who Allen is based on but the alien heroes/anti heroes I can think of that Allen is based on are Martian Manhunter,Lobo,Howard the Duck, and Drax the Destroyer.
2:53 Bro didn’t have to violate him like that
Bro the line my “people had to make breading camps” caught me off guard the first time I watched this
I love this character, SO many great characters in this series 🥰🥰
I love him already
Alan is the 🐐 of both the comics and show
Omni man and Cecil are the two dislikes
Confirmed, either Cecil got rid of the dislike button or Omni Man straight up killed it. And now no one will ever know.
He. Is. The. BEST!
You know you have a great character when you forget that they’re voiced by Seth Rogan.
I can confirm that Mark was NOT ready for a Viltrimite chick to show up
I think it's really cool how Seth Rogen has been doing more serious stuff in recent years, like this and The Boys. He's a fantastic comedy actor, but he's damn good at being serious as well, and it's cool seeing his range.
I find it hilarious how you can still hear their moans and grunches while fighting.
I also question how is mental communication possible judging the immense amount of illogical thoughts that flows through our head constantly, or how they can hold their breath for so long while ALSO fighting without any struggle whatsoever.
For that last one, holding their breath for weeks on end is explicitly stated as a viltrumite power.
