But ehh it's obviously just a way to trick the audience until the end of the episode. That's fine with me too.
That’s what I LOVED about the first episode. Homelander was so rarely used, but when he was there his presence was so huge. And everyone shat their pants just at the thought of him. And then the episode ends with him fucking blowing up the airplane.

There's nothing creepier than seeing Homelander waving to you as he flies next to your plane, in the night, while hearing thunder.
That was definitely a creepy visual. Since this was his first true reveal as a villain and it happened so fast, I didn't fully appreciate the scene when I first saw it.
@@FutureBusinessTech well it wasn't "all of the sudden". Prior to that he was sort of a mistery, but it was implied he was most powerful of them all. I kinda expected him to be douchiest of them, because he simply can. Due to all that power he pretty much doesn't answer to anyone. So wasn't surprised at all when I saw the airplane scene.
@@MyaB1986 You're right. It's been a while since I saw the first episode. My guess is if he tanked the slap homelander would have had some level of respect for him.
One thing about Homelander that they’ve pulled off really well is that he acts on his threats very rarely. Lot of the time, he threatens them, and what he’ll actually do to them is left to the audience’s imagination. Makes him much scarier.

His facial expressions and delivery of his lines are perfect.
Such a good actor.
"Stop it, you know how that ends," lol i love that line
This world is sick and cruel. I understand why homelander is the way he is, yet I lack empathy for him
You referring to the real world or their world? Either way, what does the world being cruel have anything to do with the way Homelander is. He didn't become this way because the world was cruel to him.
@@nissan_skyline I was referring to the world that we are currently in, and I never said that homelander's personality is the result of how the world treats him
he grew up in a lab, that wasn't exactly a great way to grow up..@@nissan_skyline
@@nissan_skylineHe quite literally became that way because the world was cruel to him.
They display this kind of narcissism very accurately amongst a few of the characters.
@@The_Tortoise_and_the_Hare Exactly, he was manufactured product.
Homelander makes Thanos look like a saint 😄
If you are referring to MCU Thanos, yes.
But
Oh boy. Comic Book Thanos is way worse.
Comic Thanos is way too evil
I know. At least Thanos believes in something besides his own narcissism.
Actual Thanos is crazy. Movie Thanos is kind of a good guy lol

6:52 Starr is trying his hardest not to laugh.
Nah they wouldn’t show it if that was the case
He’s being mocking
yummers
@@yrsruby5396 yes
@@yrsruby5396clearly good acting
Even A-Train was smiling
I haven’t been this tense when someone is on screen since Javier Bardem in “No Country for Old Men”. Anthony Starr is a menace as Homelander. He makes me just as uneasy as if someone unhinged with that kind of power was real and in the same room.
DDL in There Will Be Blood is also the epitome of evil on screen though.
There’s cartoon evil, and then there’s REAL WORLD evil.
Real world evil is essentially a heightened narcissism. Homelander embodies that PERFECTLY.
At 8:59 “eat fucking Timothy”
His delivery is so great
10:43 The way he says it LOL
Now I know this has been said a billion times but Homelander is like the definition of a man child isn't he?
He acted like a 4 year old when Stan insulted him
makes me want to hug him
Yes big time lol
Dude, I just love how in the death battle between him and Omni man had that moment where he told him that he was to roll with the punches to minimize the force. And how obvious it is he knew he never been hit by someone his own size. Hes always punching down on random people haha. But im so glad mortal combat is putting these two together oml
With him being raised the way he was and then being thrown into the world and forced to behave it’s no surprise he ends up slowly becoming psychotic. It’s crazy tense
The way someone described homelander was that he’s Superman if Superman was an attention-starved, psychotic, homicidal superhero
@@notsmii7y There are 2 variants of Superman like that. Red Son, which is a Superman variant that was raised in the Soviet Union and Overman which is a Superman variant raised in Nazi Germany.
@@controlman7490 woah. I’ve only heard of red son
@@filoz2005 Pretty much
Doesnt psychotic mean crazy? Hes not crazy hes just a jerk
Scariest part of this, is there's actual homelanders in our world. They don't need super powers to completely dominate someone else. It's authority that really scares people, and what scare them about homelander. Someone that's willing to abuse their authority, are as bad, if not worse than homelander. It only means, that if they had super powers, they would be just like him.
@user-pq5go1yu8y No, he/ she's not. These people oftentimes do rise to the top of a bureaucratic hierarchy. If you don't think people in authority abuse that authority, you're the one who's nuts.
@user-pq5go1yu8y nah
No it's not the power of authority but rather the super powers that he has where he can kill you without hesitation even for the slightest thing so you're practically walking on egg shells being on edge all the time. And he can hear you
@@AC-iz7eh having worked in the business world, there are a lot of ruthless bustards that are willing to abuse their position of controlling a person's livelihood for their own enjoyment.
@@dork8500 yeah but still your bosses aren't gonna outright murder you and get away with it like how Homelander could. That kinda fear is just on another level, lol
7:07, he went Batman on A-Train
Homelander is so much fun to watch. Hes a great villain and I hope the show continues to do him justice. I cant wait until he goes full evil mode and tales over everything. Such a great show.
This dude broke all the plot armored rules in movies. No one is safe from him.
Nah plot armour was strong in the last few episodes
The way he says "I'm the fucking homelander" and makes that face like "You know?" oh so perfect. Anthony Starr is the man.
I can’t believe I’ve never heard of/seen this series yet. This looks so cool. The actor is killing it (no pun intended).
5:23 why am I not surprised this is the most replayed 💀
I hope this show ends with Homelander Alive, but without any powers. I’d love to see how he’d navigate life without any powers
He’ll be elected President.
He would genuinely commit suicide ngl
@@curious1053 he will get his ass beat by a group of people who’s family he killed and that’s how it’ll end
He’d probably kill himself
he’d kill himself
6:44 THIS is easily his most PETY moment. So uncalled for 🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I loved this scene
fr😭
Naw him making Starlight find her own way home when he could easily fly her is
7:53 this scene as well lmao, Homelander said all that when A-Train just wished him a happy birthday💀
petty?
the actor playing homelander is fantastic! Amazing work!
Homelander is the perfect example of the worst person possible being a superhero
This is what happens when you dehumanize someone with powers as a baby
Homelander is the perfect example of the average person gaining superpowers. This is why "heroes" have to maintain a moral code to avoid being psychopathic dehumanized monsters like HL.
