Omni-man seems genuinely sad that an immortal, ancient being with so much wisdom and fighting prowess refused to join him in "saving" Earth. I think he saw another viltrumite in Immortal.
I don’t believe he saw another viltrumite in immortal. mainly he saw another being that in theory? Should be capable of understanding the viltrumite ideology! But the immortal doesn’t which likely just confuses Nolan so much more.

There's someting so horrifying but oddly satisfying about how efficiently Omni-man fights.
To paraphrase the Omniman vs Homelander deathbattle: Omni-Man is a warrior. He doesn't waste time. You see it the first episode when he fights the Guardians by himself. Not a single quip, word or monologue. Just observation, efficiency and annihilation.
@@CorbenikClay hate to be pedantic, but the word "warrior" has opposite connotations actually. A warrior is more *likely* to waste time and enjoy the battle. Omni man is from a warrior culture, but *he* is a *Soldier*. *Soldiers* are the professionals. Warriors are the battle hungry ones, that enjoy it and live for it. Omni Man is a soldier doing his duty. That's why he's efficient.

Evil mark comes across as even worse than nolan. Omni-man is mostly professional,detached and somber over the killings( except when he is "bonding" with his son). Mark is straight up joyful over doing murders by the dozen.

Also consider this: This isn't Nolan's First Rodeo. He's done this multiple times, with multiple races. He's been trained and educated by the Empire itself, and draws his satisfaction of fufilling the Empire's orders. Meanwhile Mark is on his VERY FIRST TAKEOVER :D This lil' goober is having the time of his life here! Nolan is pretty much watching his son proudly, like a dad does as his son confidently takes the plate and knocks it out of the park, knowing this moment was guaranteed to come.
I love how casually terrifying the concept is too.

I doubt he'd act the same if Nolan wasn't right there watching his every move, silently and not so silently critiquing and judging mark's actions. Even if he wanted to do things differently, nolan's constant presence makes it impossible.

I love how they kept making the "joke" of having them pause before the "Invincible" before the actual punchline at the very end
The best thing about these is that the lines dont feel out of place or forced ,its not like they try to shove them in for the tradition,they actually think carefully before adding those lines in different scenarios.

They did it throughout the episode with our invincible too, it was very clearly just a gag. It was funny, because we expected it every time, and then they finally reveal the card near the end of the episode.
It's quite clear tbh. A visual cue that it's not all what it seems.

Honestly... i think the reason why most Mark's are evil in the multiverse is that their powers must have developed way early, probably near infant age.
The time Mark spends as a human matters, otherwise, he becomes a full Vultrum under his dad's influence.
It's the only way how he becomes so cold.
Is Debbie alive in this universe?, maybe she's not there to help his moral compass.
That makes a lot of sense actually, considering what happens in the comics. But who is parenting him matters a lot too
Or in the other realities, Omni-Man doesn't call his wife a pet. That's what set Mark off at the end of season 1 imo. Mark seemed to be on the cusp of accepting what his father said until he said that.

Mark was paying attention to what Omniman was saying up until he made condescending remarks about his mom and that's when he doesn't feel he can side with Omniman. Conquer the world? Sure. Insult Mark's mom? Yeaaaaaahhhhhh that's a no go.

I love that early on they established that Viltrumites “fly” by moving themselves physically through space instead of actually boosting themselves off of the ground or using some gravity-defying power to put out a burst that allows them to fly in a direction, they just move in three dimensions.
It shows really well here, every time Immortal needs to move you see him have to kick off in some way, usually in mid-air by boosting into a direction. But Nolan and Mark are both easily able to navigate through space at high speeds without the extra dashing around and additional shockwaves from kicking away from where they were, they just *move*.
This show is amazing…the story line we needed

@@Mr.TraumatizedIf he had been as strong as Conquest, there would have never been any stakes for most of the story, since Omni-Man would have lost to him, and even Mark and his father together wouldn't have been able to beat him (I know they do later on, but that's when Mark is much stronger). Someone that strong with the power to resurrect as well would have been completely overpowered in Invincible's story.

I have a strange feeling this whole intro is just foreshadowing or what the future is going to look like by the end of season 2.

This scene made me realize something that I'm sure other people already picked up on.
In the alternate Invincible universes, someone might assume Mark changed his costume to reflect his new evil persona after the event that pushes him over the edge, whatever that might be. But that's only true if you're talking about the Invincibles who wear VILTRUMITE suits.
The reason his costume is different in the other universes is because of minute design choices he and Art make when designing his costume the first time. Every Invincible who is still wearing a non-Viltrumite suit has had that suit from day one, no matter how evil it made them look beforehand.
When I originally saw this opening scene I thought he Mark was training with The Immortal. Even when Omni man showed up I thought it was Immortal getting PTSD and starting to see Mark as Omni Man
